Hi! Been trying to find some information if its possible to generate landscape textures/materials from height for a custom world, How do you guys paint materials for your custom world? This is what I have; a fairly large world (4 quads) of untextures (un-painted) landscape - so far I've only been editing in the heightmap window, as well as creating lods and a basic vertex color map What I'm woundering is: - if there is any options to set up basic materials (and textures) to auto-generate from height values (i.e. everything over 1000m will be snow etc.) - use slope degrees to mask out stone texture (i.e. stone texture would appear on all terrain above or bellow a set angle) Even if I'm fairly new to the Creation Kit environment I do know my way around editors and other game engines, if anyone has any information about this I would be very greatful! Best regards, -edit- Hi, found this myself! - it's called the Region editor Thanks anyway!

I am actually porting the world of Cryodiil from Oblivion to the Skyrim engine/platform for private use (there might be issues using original game content for a mod)]. I have managed to create an bmp (out of the exported meshes) but struggles now with the import via Tesannwyn (version 023.beta) The size of the area is 4474x3072 8bit grayscale (results in 140, 96 cells). The 8 bit gray scale heightmap requires a scaling to get the real height back (some mountains are still capped) and thus is leading to a "block surface" (see picture). With 16 bit gray scale it is still worser (extruded planes, sky scraping needles).

Are there any hints to solve this problem? Doing manually landscape editing leads to good results (see picture of Waterfront). But by the landscape size a time intensive job.

Landscape problem

In Game picture of Waterfront

Thanks

Hello everybody! I have a question: For a personal project that I am working on I need to export the heightmap from Skyrim. And then import it in the Fallout 4 Creation Kit, but I didn't really say that .... I already tried to open the "Heightmap Editing Window" thing where you can edit the entire worldspace. There was a thing that said "export heightmap". But when I clicked it it made a folder called "HeightField" but it was empty. What am I doing wrong? Eventually I want to export the heightmaps of all the worldspaces ...
