  1. Could someone make a mod that replaces all of nick valentines lines with the Microsoft Sam?
  2. Hi! The users here who have tried or will try Windows 10, would you mind sharing what your experience has been so far? I'm sure some of the user experiences may change as Windows 10 provides new software updates and drivers in the coming days, weeks, and months. What are the pros and cons of Windows 10? Were there any issues during the upgrade? What new features did you enjoy? What platform did you install Windows 10 on? (desktop, laptop, tablet, etc) How is the driver support? How is the security? How is the privacy? How is directx12? (3D applications that actually support it) How is the multi-gpu experience? How is the multi-monitor experience? How is windowed gaming? What games have you tried and how well do they perform? How well does Cortana perform as a digital assistant? How is the new Edge browser? How well does Windows 10 manage heavy CPU and RAM usage in comparison to Windows 7/8? Is Windows 10 worth it, for a pc gamer? Got any benchmarks? Post them below.
  3. This is just my opinion. I just wanted to express how I feel about the Fallout community in general. I really love Fallout New Vegas, but personally its lack of unified modded quests and small map make it very hard to enjoy. I always kept planning on my next modded playthrough, even planning the next mod I want to make, only to feel disappointment when I reach the majority of the map in less than 10 minutes or so and then there's no more to explore, and then there's all the quest mods that have been added by all the modders, but unfortunately most of them are all decentralized, and they don't ultimately affect the game world meaningfully, if at all. I wanted to solve this problem by making a mod that unlocks levels after you complete a certain amount of quests, maybe even gives you weapon level ups or something too, perhaps 3 or 4 quests for each level and weapon level up, but I realize it doesn't really solve the rooted issue. I'm only familiar with Fallout New Vegas, not so familiar with other Fallout games, but this is personally a notable issue for me with FNV. I'm not really interested in FNV anymore. I still love it though. I imagine the reason why there isn't a unified community of quest makers and location makers to expand the map is ultimately because of money, which unless I'm wrong, Bethesda doesn't allow people to make money from creating Fallout Mods. I think I understand modders. Everybody has bills to pay, usually expensive bills it seems, and we all have to pay these expensive bills every single month, and whoever you work for and wherever you live may be very unkind and not supportive, and entertainment jobs are apparently highly unstable. So I do understand that spending all that time modding for free can be really stressful, mainly because of bills to pay. It sucks too because money is a sensitive topic within the modding community, I think. It would be cool if Microsoft (Since they own the Fallout Franchise now), or if Microsoft gave permission to Obsidian, to do something like what Scott Cawthon does with the Fnaf community or something (I've heard about this fan collaboration with the official Fnaf company or something from the Game Theorist Youtube Channel) and collaborate with modders that are fans of the Fallout Franchise, and pay them to expand the Fallout games through mods or something. In this case, add bunches and bunches of quest mods and new locations mods that are unified and have an impact on the game world. That'd be awesome. I'd hope that Microsoft and/or Obsidian are ethical and don't exploit and abuse the modders who make these mods and don't try to exploit the players who support the modders, and I'd hope that the gaming community and the paid modders would work together peacefully, but the gaming industry is very self-interested and malicious it seems with all the tactics used to get people into gambling addiction along with other malicious tactics for micro-transactions, and the gaming community in general seems very angry and hateful, or at least I get that idea from the various popular gaming news youtubers. Anyway, it would be awesome if the Fallout Modding community had a unified community of quest makers and location makers. (I'm sorry, I'm an idiot. I was so focused on FNV, I tagged only Fallout New Vegas and not Fallout as a whole. It doesn't seem like I can fix this.)

  5. For some reason, I can't get ReShade to load on my Microsoft Store install of Starfield. I used the gamelauncherhelper.exe, and am using the DX10/11/12 option, but it just doesn't load. Here's the text from the ReShade.log: The game loads absolutely normally (nothing to indicate ReShade is even installed), and pressing home does nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   6. Alright, so if you didn't already know, Microsoft has recently revealed the Xbox One - the next gen console! But what are your thoughts on it? Do you think it'll take off or will it just be like Windows 8; made for old people.
  7. So I bought this game called "Dark Souls" half a year ago on Steam after having rented it on xbox and hearing the pc version had more content and was cheaper altogether. I had heard many things about the game, mostly that it was really hard. I did not, however, expect that difficulty to extend to starting up the game in the first place... The first initial problem that I had was that I was using a Mac. This wasn't a good start, and the wineskin wrapper didn't work either, but then I switched to Parallels and after a few (many) bumps along the way, somehow got it working. I eventually tried getting the wrapper working again, as it could hopefully run more than 24 frames per second at most - but of course it didn't work. At this point I had beaten gwyn and was satisfied, so I didn't continue to pursue it until a bunch of people online I like - namely slowbeef, diabetus and yahtzee - began playing it again. So for the past few months I've been attempting to get it running again.Using a separate computer with Windows Vista allowed me to play the game - just that it was at 3 fps tops since the graphics card isn't amazing. I tried a lot of things but it came down to that it just wasn't very good. Attempting to make my mac run better without parallels, I attempted to use a bootcamp version of windows, but it was loading from a usb and for whatever reason (still unresolved) couldn't work. Using Windows XP on Parallels convinced me that my C++ something something was out of date and I needed a more updated OS, so I used Windows 7 next but I still have the same error message after everything. "Runtime Error! Program \\psf\Home\Documents\DarkSouls.app\Content\Resources\drive_c\Program Files\Steam\steam... This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information." As far as I know, there is no Dark Souls support team. I also have no idea what program is requesting the termination because it just ends in ..., which is very aggravating. Assuming it's DARKSOULS.exe, I've taken from other threads and ran in compatibility mode, ran as administer, reinstalled gfwl marketplace and client freshly, reinstalled the entire game several times, added and removed programs such as dsfix to see if it changed anything, created a bonfire in my backyard, used a registry fix/cleaner thingy, reinstalled the actual Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime program several times with several different versions, sacrificed a goat in the name of Priscilla, used different programs that start up the game such as Dark Souls Fixed Edition or dsmfxgui.exe, used an entirely different version of dark souls that wasn't linked to steam, changed the location of the game to inside the allocated space for parallels, bashed my head against a wall and talked to Solaire, reinstalled directX up to the latest version and tried running that and gfwl in winetricks, restarted a million times, pulled the plug out and put it back in again, and updated all drivers to the latest version but NOTHING WORKS. One time for whatever reason the error message also had R60 something something afterwards, I heard this was a separate fix for this and that sometimes this problem only occurs because of Windows 7 so I may just delete everything and create a new parallels OS, but I kinda liked Windows 7 and I hear 8 isn't very good either... There has to be a better way, can anybody help me? I know it's worked on my computer this way before, it's just been so long I don't remember what I did. It's probably something with gfwl but I tried everything suggested on Vista and it worked there. EDIT: After much confusion, I figured out by uninstalling Windows 7 in parallels, my wineskin wrapper acted differently, It still didn't work but now instead of an error message - it just makes a static-y sound and freezes. Using steam through winetricks let me go a little further and get a steam notification, then froze of course. Going through the wineskin thread and reviewing my test logs, I realized I needed to update the engine because otherwise it wouldn't work well with my AMD Radeon 6490 graphics card (which is actually Intel i7 but not according to wine). So I updated everything, tried every winetrick for direct x i could and even did the 2006 C++ thing inside of that, and I got much further! Now, I can start up the game, and it'll work up until the menu begins. Wonderful. It even mentioned the TV i'm using since my laptop screen broke. not sure what "[2740824.534] _XSERVTransmkdir: ERROR: euid != 0,directory /tmp/.X11-unix will not be created." means tho, i get it whether switching to the x11 engine or not. If anyone could offer advice that would be greatly appreciated! I am soon going to try using Windows Vista on Parallels to act as tho my other comp does and see if I can get past my initial error, but it would run much better natively on my mac which is why i'm trying wine first! Praise the sun! EDIT 2: Right so, got it working like really quickly with Parallels. First I tried using the version already installed on my mac through wine - and got the Runtime error. So I installed it once again, this time freshly on this partition of my hard drive for parallels. After going through everything suggested for a normal installation - I got it working! I even have gfwl working on it too! Of course, it plays at like 10 fps tops, so no online, but that was a step up. I got to the Hellkite drake before deciding it was too slow to work with and trying another way. Interestingly, the game cannot run with dsfix present. Deleting the .dll made it ok, but I'm not able to access any of the features. It crashed the same way my wineskin version did, so I put two and two together and was able to get that one working also - except it's a whopping 1 frame per second. I know dsfix can make my game run much faster - it's worked for me before, somehow, so now my question is of how to get it working with my game now. And any other ways to increase the fps, of course. I have no idea why I'm not getting the runtime error this time - or why before I've been able to have dsfix working, but maybe it is a specific version that will just not work with my computer?
  8. So, recently bought Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition on the Microsoft Store(First mistake, I know I know). Anyway, I can have it show up and validate on the Vortex Launcher if I have it scan the file it's in, but the game won't stay put on the Launcher. I have to rescan every time I want to change things for it on Vortex. This is vaguely annoying but not a lot more so I figured if anyone knew why that might be happening and/or how to fix it.

I currently have fallout 4 on my Xbox one (It's nearly unplayable due to Boston area) and computer, one is of course from Steam and the newest version is from the MS store (G.O.T.Y. version is on sale as of today) I bought it from the MS store, So it's not a game pass version. if that makes any difference. Now the question I have is, can Vortex manage both and mod both versions since they are in different folder locations on my PC?

The game starts fine from launcher although strictly SKSE64-dependent mods won't start without it. Attached will be a screenshot of my Special Edition. As you can see checking that corner, this is fresh-install instance of Skyrim SE version 1.5.97.0.8 and the game runs without a hitch save for not accepting the Script extender and, thus, those mods which accept it. This is the very thing that was happening with my Fallout 4, keep in mind. I am also sending a copy of this to the team at Silverlock as I think something is now very wrong.Anyone still plays Oldrim, could you check on it? Oldrim's SKSE is actually considered Steam-accepted, recall...
