Hello, Nice to meet you all - My name is Sirenscreams! I am new to the forums but I've been a member since 2012? Anyway, I've decided that with all the new changes coming to the nexus it might be nice to finally start using the forums, make some friends, and see if I can learn a thing are two here with all you lovely folks! If anyone wants to simply chat, hangout here, discuss the modding scene, or ask questions feel free! This is a SAFEPLACE for everyone! so all that I ask it that you reply please eep it clean, and be nice and respectful to any one that's here (thank you!) As for a bit of information on myself, I am an avid fan of any and all single-player RPG's, horror games, strategy games, and sandbox games! From high fantasy, sci-fi, post apocalyptic, to even your everyday settings - if you name it I'll play it! I also have an unhealthy addiction to modding to the point that I swear I spend more time modding, sorting, changing, and updating my files then I do any real gaming! lol, such is the life right? My favorite game tittle developer, and distributor is Bethseda - despite all there glaring in game issues, I have many fond memories with all their games...

Ok so basically, when i go to open nexus, it asks me to download Microsoft.net or something like that. Is it normal? Should I actually download? Can I download anything else that could replace it? Thanks for the help :)!

I suppose this is, perhaps where getting to know other users begins. Hello, how did you begin modding for the Nexus site?
-
I have played skyrim for over a good hundred hours now and i think is time for something different, time for mods. the problem is that i don't know where to start. any suggestions?

Ok, so of course I'm extreme newb to mods, Im not sure what Im suppose to do other than installing the app NMM on my pc to play a few mods I chose which include Castle homes and skill mods. It doesn't matter which mod I choose the game immediatly crashes after I've installed it. If no mods are active the game runs fine. I just bought the game which includes all 3 DLC's but I don't think that really has anything to do with it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do or need to get at least one mod running?

Suggestion: reward system for expert users helping newbies
doubleDizz posted a topic in Site Support
I posted a thread in the FNV Mod Troubleshooting forums earlier today with an issue I have tried extensively to fix myself. Afterwards, I proceeded to help with a number of other users in that section with issues that were within my understanding. I did this because I believe if I need help, I should supply help to others. It appears the Mods Troubleshooting forums are bereft of experienced user support, and unfortunately this is most likely due to a high number of new users asking for help before helping themselves. However, I wonder if perhaps some experienced users might assist more in the troubleshooting forums if a reward system was made for the assistance they could provide. I can't say specifically what the reward should be, as I do not know what Nexus Mods has to offer experience users. But for example; perhaps your could offer "mod of the week/day" rewards for users who have assisted a high amount of other user questions. The Nexus Forums seem packed with expert users and is a healthy and knowledgeable modding community. However, I feel the gap between new user and experienced user is a deep chasm, in which a bridge between the two can only be built by those with the experience. If moderators/admins think this is a good idea, I am more than willing to supply my time crafting a more tailored set of ideas for a reward system (providing it is a realistic possibility.) Thanks.- 20 replies

Ok, so I have never officially made a mod for skyrim (oldrim or se). but I would like to change/edit the textures for the fine clothes to create a mod that allows me to wear "Versace attire" (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check out Liar Liar by Young Scrolls on youtube). I know this may sound stupid and not lore friendly but honestly that's just what I want for my game. Anyways, if anyone could teach me how specifically edit the fine clothes (and maybe some other items such as armor and weapons) then I will be greatly indebted to you. Thank you and have a lovely day.

Hello, I landed on this site a few days ago. I couldn't find any other place to ask this... how the heck do I learn game modding? There are literally ZERO tutorials anywhere on the Internet everywhere i've searched... nothing, rien, nein, nada. What I plan to do is actually quite simple at first: learn how to modify some dialog boxes in The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. The only tutorial I found spoke for about a few minutes about hexadecimals, then never followed up with another episode. I also plan to tamper with Breath of the Wild. There are so many accessible mods for this game! Why isn't there a valid tutorial? I also have an early idea of a large scale project in mind for Twilight Princess. I would really love to know how some of you guys got around modding and learning it. Also I am not very learned in programming languages. Please go easy if you get too technical.
