  1. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Nirn currently open for another Daedric invasion? The barrier preventing daedra from freely entering Tamriel is not up, and hasn't been for a good 200 years. I have a few reasons for thinking this. When Martin Septim died, the line of dragonborn emperors died with him, meaning that no mortal can light the Dragonfires. Since the dragonborn in Skyrim is the last dragonborn, they can not continue this line of dragonborn emperors. The Amulet of kings was destroyed when Martin sacrificed himself, so even if the Last Dragonborn was in fact not the last, no one can bear the amulet and properly light the Dragonfires. When Akatosh was summoned at the end of the Oblivion Crisis, he merely denied Mehrunez Dagon from ever entering Nirn again, so none of the other princes were affected.During the events of the Fourth Era, several Daedric Lords have actually manifested on Nirn. Sanguine, Nocturnal, and Hermaeus Mora are among them. Previously, the dragonfires prevented them from doing this.Judging by all of this, the daedra have free reign to do whatever they want on Nirn. The only problem with this theory is that if the barrier is down, how come none of the lords have attempted to invade yet? I know that most of them have no real reasons to invade, but there are a couple. Jyggalag (Who is still a powerful daedric lord) could invade in an attempt to bring order to a now chaotic Tamriel, and Molag Bal is likely to attempt another invasion at some point. So, what do the people of the Nexus think about this? Is Nirn likely to be invaded again? Could this be the setup for major events later in the series?

Can a mod please change my title to this so it all fits? {REL}Aetherius; The many and diverse heavens beyond the void You really need to fix me not being able to edit my own thread title, rather then giving me the ability to delete comments on my mod page. Or at least restrict the number of characters in the title to the number of characters it will post. Thank you for your time. VVVVV-Actual mod description begins below!!-VVVVV --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Our world was born from magicka, the creative force that informs and sustains all life. The sources of magic are the many and diverse heavens beyond the void, collectively known as the Aetherius. Aetherius, ancestral seat of the Nine Divines and the other original spirits, is the plane of pure magicka. Whereas Oblivion may surround us every night, it is aetherial energy that infuses our daily existence, from highest to lowest, and gives all the races of men, mer, and beast common purpose. Its magic brings the rain to the fields, love to our hearths, and scientific principles to our technological industries. It gives us the very Sun itself. Finally, Aetherius is the home to the Aedra, those cornerstones of the Mundus whose aspects we see in temple, in lordship, and the high walk of heroes." - Pocket Guide to the Empire, 3rd Edition "The planets are the gods and the planes of the gods, which is the same thing. That they appear as spherical heavenly bodies is a visual phenomena caused by mortal mental stress. Since each plane(t) is an infinite mass of infinite size, as yet surrounded by the Void of Oblivion, the mortal eye registers them as bubbles within a space. Planets are magical and impossible." The plane of Aetherium is a strange and wondrous place. The lore, so it be called, is left open to interpretation, even those who stare up at the night sky each and every night, admit they do not really see what their eyes behold. For each and every being on Nirn the sky is said to appear slightly different, as it's actual appearance is far to difficult for the average mortal mind to understand. It is said the Dwemer in all their vast understanding, never once described seeing Massar and Secunda, one may simply brush this off as a simple disinterest in these dead plane(t)s. But another possible answer is, the Dwemer saw the sky more for what it is then the average mortal, and that Massar and Secunda are but what the average mind creates when staring up into the countless plane(t)s of Aetherius. But, the Dragonborn is not the average mind. You see, the blood of the god of Aetherius, Akatosh himself runs through your veins, and thus the illusion of the lesser mind is not placed upon you. So you, and you alone in this age can observe the plane(t)s of Aetherius in their true, indescribable majesty. Though the 8 Aedra are called the Gods, and that these 8 Gods make up the 8 Plane(t)s of the Gods, it is also said they are not the only beings in the Aetherial plane. They are many. They are diverse. The Aedra are what we call the 8 who selflessly created our world, but the Deadra are what we call the ones that selfishly meddle in our world. The Deadric planes are the Deadric gods and the planets of the gods, which is the same thing, just as they are the same as Aedra, just lesser. As lesser as one infinite thing can be from another. The Aedra and Deadra are not the only beings in the Aetherius, but the only ones that have an effect on the Mortal plane(t), in truth, there are countless diverse plane(t)s and gods, many of which keeps to themselves, and their own machinations. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation Download the file, and extract the "Data" folder from the "Core - Main Files" folder, and merge it with the "data" folder in your "Skyrim" folder (The one that contains SkyrimLauncher.exe) and make sure it overrights EVERY file it asks to overright! (they are all texture files) This mod will NOT work or look right without every single one of these files. Then, open the folder for every option you want or need to install and extract the "Data" folder from each one, one by one, and merge it with your "Data" folder in the same exact manner described above. Install "Low Res Galaxy DDS" if you want to save FPS(make sure to install AFTER the main file then say YES when it asks to overright!) install "Climates of Tamriel" folder if you use Climates of Tamriel, and install "Moon Size ESP" folder if you want to have larger moons like in the screenshots! HERE is a visual example of what your Data/Textures/Sky folder should look like, and how to make sure the mod is installed correctly! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Questions and Answers Q] What happened to my stars?/Why are my stars shining through my planets? A] This mod removes stars. If you try to install a star texture with this mod, the result will be very very glitchy and horrible looking, this is thanks to a limitation in skyrim's way of handling the sky, and there is nothing I can do about it without totally destroying every aspect of how this mod works. If you want a simple galaxy replacer with no planets and normal stars, go download one! ^_^ There are about 50 of them. Q] My ENB exploded when I installed this! A] ENBs do that. It's not my fault. They are very finicky and glitchy, I designed this mod to work with them if they are reasonably designed, but as some have INSANE amounts of bloom there is simply nothing I can do to make this mod work with all of them short of making 900 patches for every ENB on the nexus. Q] Will this work with.... ? A] Probably. This should work with anything that does not edit the night sky. This replaces EVERY texture in the night sky, and thus, you should not attempt to combined it with any mod that edits the NIGHT sky, or the sun texture. Q] How does it look with Climates of Tamriel? A] AMAZING. Because it is designed to be used with it, and in fact the sun texture is edited from it's sun texture (with permission of coarse) Make sure to install the CoT optional files, or your sun might randomly change colors on you! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suggested Mods This is the Spiritual Successor to my other mod More Alien Skyrim if you like this mod, give that mod a look! Please note, that these two mods are VERY incompatible with one another! This mod is designed to work with Climates of Tamriel and will look much better with it. It does not at all require it to work though, it just looks better then vanilla. Enhanced Lights and FX also looks great with this mod. I suggest the SweetFX mod Ultimate Lighting Overhaul and my preset for it Dramatic Cinematic. Combine this with ELFX and COT to get the exact look of my screenshots. Random Mod Title is another of my mods that allows you to play as Deadmau5 in skyrim. It has NOTHING to do with this mod, but what harm does a little self promotion on my own mod page do?
  3. I just wanted to start a joke thread that my fellow Skyrim fans might appreciate. Please add your own! Why did the Redguard have a cast on his foot? Because his Hammerfell.
  4. Hello everyone, I am a small time modder and avid skyrim player. I scour the nexus to try mods and find ideas to share with the community. I got this idea while playing a character based around my followers. By the end of the playthrough my party was at 10 people, myself included. I was destroying all dungeons and bosses with just 3 followers at a time. But one problem I always had was how there were not any guilds that were built around fighting the dragons and other threats to the world. The dragonborn could not be everywhere. Yeah, the blades were SUPPOSED to be that in the original game and mods worked with that, but the blades were just not enough for me, and they were already broken. Companions are paid to kill bears... huge warriors are paid to murder animals and not fight dragons, the biggest problem skyrim faces. The college of winterhold has one, maybe two people that even care about the dragons returning. The vigilants of stendarr are killed off by vampires, some help they were. And don’t get me started on the thieves guild, who actively hinder peoples path to deal with the problems in skyrim. I saw a mod on the nexus that created a guild by talking to npcs and they come to a set location, but why not take it a step further. My idea is to have a quest that is around creating a guild from the ground up, setting up a location, getting guild members, getting merchants to help fund the guild, and other stuff. you could take control as the manager of the guild or have someone else to do it for you while you just give money to fund it. There could be a player home, representatives from different races, places and organizations (i.e. companions, stormcloaks, imperials, possibly greybeards. The potential for this mod is quite great and a lot of customization can come into play. For example, you could choose the hold for the guild to be placed, depending on that and your status in the guild, the jarl can aid you. Another customization option can be choices of how to go about making the guild, do you want it to be an open guild where anyone can join, or a more exclusive guild with more extensive training( they could learn shouts, have higher levels and other stuff added to the guild members. Another customization option is to involve what organizations on the guild such as inviting the Thalmor, companions, legion, stormcloaks etc. This could be unique followers or "guild members." and that just option in dialogue. You could customize the location itself, kinda like hearthstone. You could customize armors, weapons and even more stuff! I am open to suggestions, and this was just a cursory overview of my idea. Thanks you for reading and have a wonderful day!
  5. I've been playing Skyrim without any expansion and I usually enjoy understanding the Lore behind a game. It isn't a surprise that the Elder Scrolls have a extended lore. This thread here is a series of things I don't quite understand yet, it would be nice if someone could explain them to me. 1) Ok, Skyrim is a province inside the Continent of Tamriel that is part of the World of Nirn that is in the center of Mundus. So we are playing on a part, of a part of a part of a part. Correct? All the races that appear in this game are races that have provinces inside Tamriel... There's no NPC in this game that came from another continent... Why?People of Nirn forgot how to cross oceans? I mean, why don't we hear about races from other continents? (Besides the exception that will come on question 2) 2) I have the impression "The Blades" are typically an Akavir creation. (Akavir being another race, from another continent... which does not appear in the game Skyrim.) Considering there's a huge temple of the blades inside Skyrim. This means that at some time, the Akavir did visit Tamriel. But, where are them now? Why can't we play as Akavir or see Akavir NPCs walking around? Were they banished from Tamriel for some reason? 3) Who created the Dragons? Alduin (The master of the Dragon species) seem to be the "Format Mundus:/" function. Clearly the Aedra (creators of all the existence) wouldn't want their creation to be purged... This means that something other than the Aedra created the Dragons.... What was it? If I made any mistake in my questions, correct me please. If you want to expand on these questions with more questions, you are more than welcome. If you can answer any of these questions or even help this thread with information that don't exactly answer them but help us by pointing in the right way, I'll be really thankful. Cheers
  6. I'm searching for some really good modders! I want to make the continent of Akavir the place where the forefathers of the argonians came from: The Akvir I really don't know anything about modding but i hope some modders which can make landscapes, quests, characters, magic and much more will help me to get Akavir back to Nirn.
  7. I've always wondered what Tamriel would look like with our modern society, or even longer in the future - with space ships and sci-fi buildings. I've always imagined the humans would get mixed up like in toadys society and would live in peace, and eventually, the beast races would be pushed aside from the men and elves. Argonians and khajiit would live poorer and mostly in their own landscapes. And what about Akaviri? Well, I'd imagine they regain contact, and while the humans and elves try to move there, the aggressive Ka Po Tun and Tsaesci push them aside. However, the Tang Mo build up trading with the humans and try to share culture with them and eventually become their allies. Oh, and yeah, I know. Time in Elder Scrolls don't work the same way. For example: Elder Scrolls online. One friggin' Millenium before the rest and they are almost even more advanced. :ermm: If you have any ideas about this topic, post them here!
  8. Doug Rattmann and Chell outfits, Cave Johnson portrait, Cores that hover using Eyebot AI (as seen in Lego Dimensions), Atlas and Pbody Automatron parts, HEV suit and crowbar, Aperture Turrets, Shower curtains and Radio would be to die for. I've been thinking about it on and of since I put Fall of the Space Core Vol 1 on Skyrim Special Edition (legal for personal use). A small quest that established that all non-canon content/anomalous objects leaked into the wasteland due to early Institute teleportation experiments (+radiation levels), GLaDOS' excessive testing and the Resonance Cascade, each weakening the barriers between Multiverse, which fall of the Space Core would either suggest Half life's Earth and Skyrim's Nirn are in the same universe (and probably a maximum of two galaxies apart) or the barriers between the multiverses are thin and fragile by that point already.
