  1. Cachino's journal Karl's journal Legion patrol notes, raid plans and paperwork Legion slave ledger Comm station password Crimson Caravan invoice and Van Graff agreement Cassidy Caravans buyout offer Milling specifications Roy Gottlieb's password Snuff tapes (Supposedly audio) The Screams of Brahmin (Supposedly audio) Schematics and recipes These notes and holotapes would've been interesting to read and listen to, but unfortunately they just provide descriptions instead of being in actual readable forms. I would've appreciated if someone would make a mod to resolve that. Recipes and schematics could've been written like Fallout 3, providing specific ingridients and witty descriptions.
  2. A mod to take notes in any form would be really helpful and perhaps more immersive. I highly request it, since I'm awful at making mods myself :D Either journal or book form or something like that?
  3. I had an idea about a mod that lets you leave notes for NPCs. (The most successful chance of them finding the note being their house or place where they hang around a lot.) This came up to me when I robbed Orgnar, the innkeeper in Riverwood. I wasn't seen, but the bastard figured it out and sent hired thugs after me later. I didn't wanna kill him (yet), but it sucked that I couldn't intimidate him or even confront him about it (nor did he give a s#*!). I imagined how awesome it would be if I was able to leave him a sinister and threatening note that would keep him on his toes. You could leave many kinds of notes: friendly, romantic, threatening, ask to meet somewhere... those are just some from the top of my head. I'm guessing you'd have to leave the NPC for a while before they read the note and then when you come back, their reaction to you will be different: angry, frightened, "It's a fine day with you around ;) ". The kind of mechanic I had in mind was that a letterbox pops up "What kind of a note do you wish to write?" and you select what kind and then it lets you freely write (type) on the paper whatever you want and then you drop it in a certain place. Would be cool if NPCs could reply to you too. And you'd need to collect a roll of paper and charcoal. Now, for the second idea: Better Secured Valuables. I know this feature is somewhat featured in Skyrim Radioactive, but not fully. There are still coin bags placed right there on the counter for you to sweep when the owner isn't looking. Don't you love it when you walk into your inn and see a perfectly placed coin bag along with coins just lying there on the table? You just have to close the door behind you before nosy Delphine walks in and steal it as fast as you can and voila. Inn robbed. Who the hell leaves all their savings lying around on a table IN A GUEST ROOM? With this mod, NPCs would actually protect their valuables, store them in a safe or just hide them from plain sight (better than just jamming coin bags between a bed and a cupboard). I know some of them already stored some jewelry in a display box, which is alright (even though a non-display ordinary-looking box would be more secure), but some of them are just plain sitting ducks for thieves. (Sorry if these mods or something similar already exists, I didn't find any.)
  4. I can't do this myself but it follows along the same lines as one of the best Journal mods in Skyrim (which this game also needs). Something that, instead of letting us rename setllers, lets us create from thin air, customizable and editable notes. Pieces of paper that can be written on, given to an NPC as ID, so we know what their name is, what their job is, even if we have to go through the trouble of looking into their inventory. And maaaybe, being able to pull it out their inventory, change it according to a new job, and put it back. This may be completely undoable without a CK, but if it is possible... PLEASE! PRETTY PLEASE! Thanks! If I could do this myself, I would, but. sadly, no. So...HELP! Thanks!
  5. Hello all, today ive came across a rather game crippling CTD. Every single time I scroll on or over a note/letter in the inventory it crashes to my desktop. All my mod manager ( Mod organizer ) said was not saving lists during directory update. I don't know what that means exactly but I wasn't sure if it tied to my problem. I mod skyrim quite a bit but hadn't installed any new mods that changed anything like letters or notes but just in case I unplugged the books of skyrim mod and still had CTD. Please help, I cannot start the dragon born quest without it! Please get back ASAP! Thank you! UPDATE- Now the error seemed to stop but caused a bunch of new ones.. Now all my items ive stored places have vanished and when I try to put armor on mannequins or books on shelves it CTD. Any advice..?
  6. Hello. Is this even possible? To develop a mod that lets you add map notes? In other words, create little icons in certain locations on the map, and add a note for each icon, which you can type. You know, something like: "100 Lockpicking box here," to remind oneself to return when one has the appropriate skill level or item for the location. I have a feeling this has been asked or requested before, but I did not find an answer for it in the two pinned topics.
  7. Let me preface this issue as I am still kind of new at modding, with F3 being the only game I have modded extensively using NexusMods. I have tried searching the forums and Google using all the keywords that I could think up, sadly to no conclusion. Anyway, I have just recently created a mod list using NMM following closely to Gophers tutorials on Youtube (thanks Gopher if you browse the forums). I have created a master list and all works well except my GotY Steam edition crashes when I try to accept quests (as far as I have tested) accept any sort of note or holotape. This happened with Lucy when I accepted the Blood Ties mission, so I assumed she just may have glitched and went on about my business. FF'ing I arrived at the GNR building and found when I accepted the satellite dish mission, it again crashed after recieving the note from Three Dog. I managed to using the 10% speech success rate to bypass it without crashing after spamming the encounter about 20+ times *sigh*. I'm stumped at to what would cause this and wonder if anyone had the same problem and found a run-around they would be nice enough to share  . When I ran the vanilla game before mods the encounters unsurprisingly worked fine. My mod list not in exact working order: Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch aHud & iHud Cinematech FWE Project Beauty EVE MMM Enhanced Weather WMK Fellout DarNified Imaginator FOIP (for all necessary components) Merged Patch (after testing for proper configs) Thanks for the help in advance! Edit: I have no idea if this is related but the game also seems to crash when I exit the game to main menu but not to desktop.
  8. I run modded Skyrim with around 100 mods. I'm on the "A Cure for Madness" quest from the Dark Brotherhood and when i go to Cicero's room his journals are missing, which makes the quest non-completable. i have seen journals missing before but didnt payed much attention. what happens is that any journal that is suposed to be left somewhere for the player to find are missing from their spots. a took it one step further and went ahead to add Cicero's journal into my inventory via console commands, but of course it changed nothing. i tried to leave the journal on the same spot that the quest wants it to be when i noticed that i didnt...the journal that i threw away from my inventory simply vanished! so its not just a bug where every journal just isnt at its place but a bug where journals wont even materialize in my game for some reason. any HELP would be appreciated. ps: dont go ham about mods coliding and such. i'm a total newb to modding altogether, i already know that i suck. so if you dont have anything constructive to say, keep your thoughts to yourself. these are my mods and mod order sorted by Loot. 9. Hey there, ´would it be possible to make mod, that allows you to instantly read notes and play holotapes, without needing to go to inventory and search for it? For example, when theres a dead body (or box) with note in inventory, I'd like to read it instantly, and not just collecting it and having to open it through Pip-boy.
  10. I've had this odd problem lately. You know when witcher senses highlight a note as a clue in a quest, then you go over to it and examine it. First Geralt most likely says something, just like any other clue. Typically after Geralt says something like "Hmm.. Notes.. Wonder whose?", a looting window would open and it would let you pick up the note and then read it, right? Well for me, everything goes as normal but the looting window doesn't open at all. Geralt says the line and the notes simply disappear. I've checked my inventory and reloaded saves multiple times. I even removed the 'All quest objectives on the map' and 'Instant witcher senses' mods just in case they had something to do with it, but it didn't help. This bug has happened during two quests so far (others I've done haven't had any notes in them): 'An Elusive thief' and 'Wild at heart'. The worst thing is, I can't complete 'An Elusive Thief', because it's necessary to read the note to progress. After examining the note it doesn't let me loot it and the note disappears, so I can't even examine it again. And the quest objective doesn't change either. It's still "Search the house". And going to the place where the quest would continue, the people who I'm to find there are nowhere to be found. This is really frustrating, if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's a picture of my mod list just in case. Script merger is also used. EDIT: Just went to do the quest where you go down to the mage Aeramas' cheese dungeon. There you get the sword which Geralt names the Emmentaler. However, as you might guess, the same thing happens as with the notes: Geralt says something before he takes it, but the game doesn't let me take it, the sword disappears, quest objective doesn't update. Ugh, really annoying.
  11. Is there a mod, or is it even possible to remove notes from the pipboy. I have so many notes from various quests that I just want to clean up the clutter. I know the console might do it but can this action be scripted, something like the feature in cobl that allows the user to remove unwanted spells in Oblivion.
  12. As the title says, I'm trying to find a mod that will allow me to tag, star, or delete notes from the "Misc. Data" section in the Pip-Boy. Alternately, if there is a mod that will allow me to create notes in-game easily, that would be a great workaround. Do any such mods exist? Advice would be greatly appreciated!
  13. Hi zombie apocalypse survivalists, As a survivalist in many occasions I have found my self wandering the waste zombie land, suddenly I find a camp place, a spot hideout, etc., a place where to pass the night, sometimes such place became a secondary basement. Then I decided to leave and keep forward on my journies, I try to remember the exact location as: "the place where are tree trees and a large rock" for example, but If you travel long enough suddenly you find you forget about the exact place. As a simple suggestion would be cool to have a personal notebook, notepad, journal, to take simple notes. Sometimes the gameplay experience can be so rich in details wants me to start writing a short story journal... I know such mod it might be complex to do but I guess it can be created, it depends on the game engine and scripts. I would create such mod by myself If I could, I'm learning about coding a bit, and with time maybe I could manage on create something, but right now If someone have the knowledge to create such mod with some similar concept it would be so cool! Regards!
  14. When the player reads a certain book or note I want to set the journal so that the quest can progress. The only way I have been able to do this is with the OnPCAdd Function but I want the journal to be set only when the player reads the note. what functions should I use in my script to set the journal upon reading? Thank you in advance.
  15. So I was using the journal of the sole survivor and I came up with this idea cause of the dreaded "Why not?" syndrome: Leavable readable holotapes / paper notes. You get generic holotapes in the world that are blank and serve as leveled loot in any loot source along with paper notes, both being craftable. when you select one you get to rename the item itself and edit the blank page within, and can make multiple pages. when you leave them on the ground by dropping them when finished with the tape / note they magnetize to the ground / solid surface so they don't get bumped around by you walking. Leavable / readable notes is meant to add your own lore to your own save file and even serve as a hint system / reminder for elaborate electrical systems, and unlike the journal of the sole survivor: one holotape / note does not overwrite the other, meaning if you spawn in blank notes / holotapes with the console they will still be able to be completely customizable. Tag: Request, Notes
  16. Most of the quest-connected notes in New Vegas only gives out a brief description of them and not very specific on how they're read, unlike in Fallout 3 where almost every amazingly written note and holotape you come across is readable and serves to make things a bit more lively and fleshed out. The descriptions usually claim to detail additional stuff, but these details are never specific at all. Just look at Cachino's and Karl's journal, for example. These kind of notes serve only for to be delivered to someone else, not to be read by yourself and know a bit more. The only quest notes I know of that's readable are the bill of sale in One for My Baby and the ledger in The Coyotes, but that's to help pin down the exact culprit. There are also 2 "audio" tapes, one is "The Screams of Brahmin" and the snuff tapes, which are actually text notes. Their description describe what is "heard" on the tapes, but not what they would sound like if they were actually audio tapes. If they were to be made into actual audio tapes, then I could only make do by reusing audio. If someone could write a very good note for a mod then surely they would be eligible to make a mod to make the quest notes actually readable and it'd be greatly appreciated if that was actually done. Plus, they have to exactly fit the descriptions, too.
  17. Proposal to add an option to write short notes for mods downloaded. For example to write down game version for which mod designed - especially improtant for game in EA (Bannerlord) and at recent release state when a lot of patches issued by developers. Maybe some other stuff for mods groupping etc.
  18. As someone that tries/trials many mods, it would be great to have a personal down-vote system or personal note system per mod page. Nexus allows us to endorse mods that shows the community and ourselves that we enjoyed the mod enough to go back to the page and mark it as endorsed. But what about mods that we didn't care for and never want to accidentally add to our load orders again? Unlike how endorsements are public, it would be great to have a system only visible to each individual user (and no one else) that allows us to down-vote mods and/or place personal notes about that mod for ourselves to reflect back on if ever necessary. Many times, I've gone to a mod page that shows I'd downloaded it months or years before (may or may not be "tracking" it), but it's no longer in my load order. But I can't recall if it's not in my load order because I didn't like it, because of my current playstyle, or because of this or that. Do I want to try it again? Or do I need to stay away from the mod due to bugs or just personal preference? If I do install it again, do I need to make edits to it for whatever reasons? It would be great to have these private notes on mod pages to see. But if that's too tricky, even a simple down-voting system would be an awesome addition! Obviously it's something that should remain hidden from the public. Mod authors release their work for free for the community and don't need anything to hinder them from doing so or causing hurt feelings, etc. (Plus, this isn't Facebook.) Let me and the community know what you think about this! Do you have any similar ideas or maybe suggestions to make something like this even better?
