  1. I just want to use Qarl's texture pack, character overhaul, enhanced flora and trees, realistic environments, oblivion realm HD, etc. to improve my game looks. I have obse, 4gb patch, streamline, etc. But do I really need OBGE/OR? I don't like them, the old one is quite buggy and the new one adds features I don't want. I'd like to know if I can revamp my game's looks with mods without OBGE/OR. Thanks.
  2. Hello all. I'v done this. Oblivion GOTY edition (2DVDs) installed DVD1 then DVD2 Oblivion official modules (spell tomes, wizards tower, etc DVD) not oblivion patch on it. Fighters stronghold (exe) official module installed. Installed OBSE Planning to install Menuque + oblivion reloaded (OBGE) Install unofficial oblivion and Shivering Isles textures I'v installed the 4gb patch before. Does either OBSE or OBGE have the 4GB patch already in it? Will there be any conflicts? Are there more modern 4GB patches available?

I think I've applied all the unique landscapes patches for the above mods and load order is sorted using BOSS. I have all official dlcs,shivering isles,all official and unofficial patches. I've also cleaned all mods with dirty edits as reported in BOSS with TES4edit. I estimate it should take me about 500 hours to play through them all and i don't mean to uninstall or install any mods once i get going. This is my first time playing oblivion and i would really appreciate it if you guys could point out any conflict between any of these mods so that i could have an uninterrupted playthrough with my ultra beautiful female character :smile: xD Thanks a lot in advance :smile:

  6. I'm going to mod Oblivion from zero and I want to know if OBGE's POM works well with Qarl's Texture Pack III, or I'll just see some parallax occlusion offsets. Such as depths appearing in incorrect places because QTP is a complete remake of textures, it doesn't increase but change textures.

Hey, so according to the OBGE Reloaded page, it's supposed to work with ENBs (though I am also aware the modders don't officially support ENBs), and many other players report that they use an ENB and OBGE Reloaded. I try doing the same, but somehow OBGE just... "overwrites" any ENB I get or something.   8. Unfortunately I cannot share any screenshots of this because my keyboard doesn't have a prnt-screen key. Here's the issue: I'm running OBSE Oblivion through steam through wine on a mac. So far, everything works perfect (mods are a pain in the ass to install but once I do it right they work fine). I wanted to install DR6 so I went through the process the author described, and installed all the requirements, including the menuque, obge core, and nifse plugins through wrye bash. However, upon booting up the game with obse - even with all mods disabled - I get a host of graphical glitches. My character has a weird, silvery layer around him and when I fast travel anywhere he becomes completely invisible, as do all other npcs. The ground becomes completely invisible, but objects such as rocks, trees and buildings are still mostly visible - however they are sometimes partially transparent or missing chunks. I'm almost certain the only errors are graphical because I can still move around and jump etc. My most recent save is on a hill and I can move about on said hill and take fall damage - but I can't see where I am relative to anything because most things are invisible. The only issue I can see is that in Wrye Bash, the OBGE core symbol is a yellow diamond with a cross instead of the usual green. Under the 'conflicts' tab it says: = Higher ======================================== ==1== NifSE Release.DS_Store But I don't know what this means or how to fix it. It also says just .DS_Store under the 'mismatched' tab. Under the conflicts tab of NifSE, it says: = Higher ==========================================1== NifSE Release.DS_Store I've tried various things like using a bashed patch, archive invalidation, playing around with different adjustments to graphics settings, but nothing seems to work. I would much appreciate any help!

  10. Please bear with me on this, it gets complicated:) I am fairly new to mods. I have used minor ones, installing them with obmm, but that's about it. After becoming tired of Skyrim, I decided to go back to Oblivion, but go all out with mods to see if I get results like some of the pretty fantastic screen shots I see (or something vaguely similar). So - I completely removed Oblivion and everything related and decided to start from scratch. first of all, here's what I'm using (not great, I know, that's why I'm modding Oblivion and not Skyrim) - amd athlon II x2 250 3 Ghz, 3.5gig ram ati Radeon HD 4670 1Gig windows xp Oblivion/Shivering Isles/ Knights of the Nine GOTY retail purchase When I first installed Oblivion this morning, it worked fine (been at this 21 hours and counting). Following recommendations in a guide to set myself up for large texture and weather / landscape enhancements I d/led and installed OBMM (which I am certain is not the issue), OBSE 0020, OBGEv3, Wrye Bash (solely to install OBGE per the read me file) and BOSS. Before booting the game after these installations I also d/l'ed and installed the unofficial patches for Oblivion and SI. I forgot to launch through OBSE. The launch page came up, but when I tried to play the game immediately crashed. When I tried to do it through OBSE it didn't even get that far - just a flash of black then the option to send a report to Microsoft. No error messages, just a "Oblivion has a problem and needs to close." At this point I had no omod files in obmm. I went back and double checked that I had followed the readme files correctly in each program, and d/l'ed the appropriate necessities for each. I could find nothing missing. I have uninstalled / reinstalled Oblivion by disc 5 times since then with no success. I have uninstalled and reinstalled various combinations of the above programs without success. I even wasted an hour trying to figure out the 1.2.0.416 patch for Oblivion / SI so it will be compatible with the current OBSE (turns out it already was - at least according to the readme file installed from the disc). I am by no means a technical person, but I do have some experience modding and tweaking other (older) games and am capable of following directions, and even doing a little reasoning here and there - but I am at a total loss with this. So, here's my question! Can anyone please point me in the right direction? This is a mess, and I don't expect anyone to figure it out but myself, but I need a clue. Are two of these programs incompatible? Do they need to be installed in a particular order? Should I install patches with OBMM, before installing the other stuff? I don't really want to mess with OBGE or Wrye at all, but the mods I am interested in need OBGE and apparently OBGE needs Wrye Bash - is there a simpler way around that? Any information specific to this issue will help - as I mentioned, been at this 21 hours already today, and although I find tons of information on each component of my problem (and everything seems to check out), I'm not seeing anyone with a game that simply won't launch with all of them installed. I also researched this for a couple days before beginning, so I am really shocked it is this much of a hassle.   11. Hi, I just got Oblivion Graphics Extender, and installed some addons (specifically Ambient Dungeons), and am really enjoying how good it makes oblivion look. Unfortunately, it seems that I cannot alt-tab with obge installed, as it refuses to maximize afterwards. This is very difficult for me, as I have to be constantly switching back between windows for various reasons, and I can't really play oblivion without that. I have already tried the fake fullscreen mod, but that causes my game to stutter noticeably, and I would prefer not having to use it. Is this a common issue, and if so, does anyone have a workaround I could use? Of course it is not a huge problem, just eye candy, but still, I would like to use it. Thanks a lot for any help.
