  1. I have several plugins left over from a previous modded adventure with skyrim. Since turning to Vortex these .esp(s) have been identified and disabled (which is great) but I'm looking to remove them altogether. My question is this: How do I delete/remove plugins I'm no longer using from Vortex and/or the Skyrim folder?
  2. Hello! I am modding Skyrim Special Edition. I had 440 plugins, but have merged a lot of plugins and are down to 313 active. I followed Nordic Skyrim moddig guide... well, it's a lot of good mods out there =). I have used Batched patch to merge some of the mods. I have also merged: all weapon mods, all armor mods (without leveled lists), all SOS patches (Sound of Skyrim), all PCE patches (Palaces Castles Enhanced), all DBM patches (Legacy of the Dragonborn), all JK Skyrim patches... I avoided merging plugins if I received a warning message, for example, PCE - Skyrim Sewers Patch.esp No patches are missing and every plugin has it's masters, even though they are nor present in the list of plugins bellow they are present! Which plugins is it safe to merge? Have you got any suggestions for mods I should get rid of and why you think so? I really hope that I can get some help.   3. Everytime I try to clean my dirty dlc related plugins via Fallout 3 edit, such as "RH_Ironsights_basic_pittplugin" and "Anchorage.esm", Fallout 3 edit fails to load my vortex load order. This result in Fallout 3 edit saying "An error occured while loading modules" and "Backgroud Loader: Fatal: <Exception: Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm requires Fallout3.esm to be loaded before it". Everything in my new modded fallout 3 playthrough is working fine, however I just don't want to get to the DLCs and find that they're broken because of dirty DLC related plugins. Literally have spent 4-5 days on this. Some people say that cleaning dlc related plugins is imperative and others say that their games worked fine with dirty dlc related plugins, so I'm super confused on top of being annoyed.   4. Okay so i have downloaded a bunch of mods and installed them and then enabled them, yet they do not show up on the plugins tab thoughts for fixing this.

I installed 50+ mods for skyrim on vortex and now as I can see the mods are in the mod part of the Mod Manager but not a single plugin of any of the mods are in the plugin part of the manager only the Plugins of the Workshop mods. The Skyrim folder also only has the plugins of the Workshop mods and the mod folders in my vortex folder are completly empty. I tried deploying the mods more than once but still no Plugins. Is there any way to fix this?
  6. I'm using Vortex 1.5.7 to manage my Skyrim mods and plugins. When starting Vortex, I get a message telling me that I need to go to the plugins tab and click the "reset masterlist button." But I can't find it. I've gone to the plugins tab and searched as diligently as I know how for quite a long time. If I'm missing it, please tell me I'm blind and point it out for me. If it's actually missing, please let me know so that I can stop looking for it. :-) I have the following buttons available on the plugins tab: autosort enabled(/disabled), sort now, manage rules, manage groups, history, and tutorials. I've clicked each of those to see if any of them bring up a menu that might say "reset masterlist." They don't. There is also no reset masterlist button in the content frame (the one that contains the actual plugins list). That frame only allows me to sort, filter and toggle columns, and to enable/disable/ghost the plugins. Thanks for any help you can give me!
  7. I am really tired of this, honestly. I always start to report mod problems until I cancel the reporting because I realise that the Plugin is disabled. So I am asking if Vortex can be updated to ENABLE esp files that are installed when enabling a mod! Everytime I install and enable a mod, I ALWAYS need to check the Plugins tab to make sure you've enabled the ESP file. Seriously, that's not very automated and very disturbing. And the amount of time wasted to open Skyrim, load a game to realise that this mod is indeed enabled but NOT the plugin, I need to close the game and reload again. After over a year of endurance, I got tired today of experiencing this issue so now I am putting a post for someone to do something about it. AND, if it's a config I need to have enabled for this to happen, well, it's very unclear as to what I need to activate for plugins to enable themselves once a mod has been enabled. So this was my complaint of the day, thank you! TEMPORARY SOLUTION: See this post lower on this page.
  8. My plugin tag is suddenly gone. I saw something about having something called gamebayo enabled in extensions, but theres nothing in my extensions tab.
  9. I had to do a reset of my computer recently so I've been rebuilding my mod list for Skyrim Special Edition. Naturally I have a good amount of bugs to sort out and conflicts to manage, but I've run into a problem that makes this task particularly difficult. Plugins that I disable disappear entirely from Vortex. Specifically the ones marked as "not light". In total I had around 300 not light plugins. I had all of my mod files saved so I was just importing them from another folder to sort through on Vortex itself since it gives me mod names rather than just file names. After I narrowed everything down to 250 I tested the game, there were conflicts (as expected), so I went in to start experimenting with what might be causing the crash and what to try and replace, but all my not light plugins that I had disabled are completely gone. Example: I have two different Whiterun overhauls, I kept my favorite in and disabled the other. Now I want to try switching them out but the one I disabled doesn't show up on the plugins tab, not under "not light", not under disabled, not under ghost, and not even when I searched up the mod name or file name. I have this problem with all of the not light plugins I disabled. I do still have the files in the Vortex Mods folder and the actual mods themselves (under the "Mods" tab) are still there, all that missing are the plugins inside Vortex. Skyrim Special Edition is the only game that I use with Vortex.
  10. It's been a reoccurring issue that whenever I go into the Ragged Flagon (not including the Ratway or Cistern), that I'm encountering invisible walls, meshes, objects, and NPCs. Collision is enabled on all (if not most) of the invisible objects, and NPCs appear visable when entering out of the zone of invisible objects. I don't know what is causing this issue. I've tried disabling certain mods affecting the cell in the past. The invisible meshes don't always appear, but when they do, they constantly appear every time I enter. I've auto cleaned the rest of my mods that needed cleaning according to Loot (via Mod Organizer 2).
  11. Hello guys, I'm at a loss and a little desperate. I hope someone can help me here. When playing Skyrim SE there are problems after a few minutes (loading is no longer possible because the saved game is corrupt and dialog lines are skipped).After weeks of research and testing, I found that I was well over the plugin limit with my 323 plugins. Unfortunately I couldn't merge many mods because they depend on other mods or just don't work in merged form.The weird thing is that I don't actually have that many plugins or ESPs. Many mods are ESL or ESL flagged. Actually, I shouldn't even reach the 254 or 255 limit. Creation Club content (I have the Anniversary Edition) also seems to count as plugins. The issue may be related to the Creation Club content. For some reason they are in my overwrite order and according to MO2 they are "redundant". I currently have 195 mods (including merged mods). SKSE, USSEP, SkyUi and almost all other mods are up to date.By the way, it also makes no sense to start a new game. I've tried that countless times without success. I've also deleted my old saves, used LOOT, checked game files for errors via Steam, and disabled mods one by one in hopes of finding a culprit. But all without success.It only works if I disable as many mods/plugins until I fall below the plugin limit. But like I said, that doesn't make any sense. I don't have that many ESP or plugins.   12. I installed Vortex a year ago on a new machine. There is no Plugins screen. How do you resolve conflicts with other mods? My game crashes after a few minutes of play, unless I play a Fennec, then it will last for hours. I am using 64 mods. Where can I get another Vortex that will install plugins? - Installing with the current one not completely erased from my log in name never loads the Plugins screen to resolve conflicts: this is the only thing I can think of; because I have tried uninstalling, then erasing then reinstalling Vortex twice.

  14. I have legal copies of Win 10 and SSE for my PC. So here's the mystery: In Vortex I'm missing the plugin button on the front page. When I scroll down in extensions it tells me the Gamebyro Plugin Management failed along with Gamebryo Bsa Support failing also. I try to enable them but they won't enable. All the other extensions are enabled. Yes I turned off the controlled folder access in Win 10 defender and reinstalled Vortex after a reboot ... same result. I then turned it back on and made an exception for Vortex :wallbash: I asked Microsoft and they sent me here. Pass the Bucket of 'We have no clue, your not paying us to have one, so go bug sum1 else.' (To b fair they did give me a couple of links and one of them lead me here.) I've combed through the forum, but after page 92 .... well, I'm going on 63yrs young and would like to keep what hair I have left. Suggestions?

I've installed the latest versions of both Vortex (1.9.5) and the Starfield extension (0.4.1) and for some reason neither plugins or save games are appearing in the side menu (though mods and collections are). Seemingly without the plugins established by Vortex neither LOOT nor the game are detecting the mods properly (despite apparently all being installed and enabled in the mods section). Is this a unique issue or is there some simple fix I am missing?
  16. When i started modding Starfield with Vortex I noticed that there was not "pugins" tab under mods on the left nav bar. I figured this was because none of the mods I was installing had plugins. Now that SFEdit is out a lot of new mods with plugins are coming out. I installed a few but still have no way to see the plugins (esm) or change priority (load order). If I'm modding FO4 the left nav bar has four tabs: mods, plugins, collections, and Saved Games. Starfield just has two: mods, and plugins. Is this intentionally done by the Vortex devs due to Starfield not officially supporting plugins yet, or is there some setting I need to change? I saw as similar question a bit lower that refers to enabling an extension, but the only extensions I have are the ones for the games I am currently managing. EDIT: I should note that I have not had any difficulty getting my early, non-plugin based, mods working with Vortex. It's just that now that more complex mods are starting to come out I know that load order is going to be a concern.
  17. I need help with my mods for Skyrim Anniversary Edition, GOG release here. I installed the mods correctly (maybe?) for my Skyrim. I double checked with LOOT and Vortex to make sure there are no conflict or problem that could harm the game, but didn't found any. After I entered the game, some of my mods like Racemenu and SkyUI wasn't there, like it wasn't even enabled or exist in the first place, but my other mods like CBBE are able to run properly. Any advice/help/guide to fix this problem? :sad:

Background: I use SkyrimVR, Nexusmods, Vortex and LOOT.I've been having issues recently when installing mods using Vortex with my Skyrim VR program in that immediately following the installation, the main program esm files are being removed from the plugins.txt file. Not just hidden but deleted. This happens every time now. My intermediate fix is to manually re-enter the file names ( Dawnguard.esm, Dragonborn.esm, HearthFires.esm, Skyrim.esm, SkyrimVR.esm, SkyrimVR.esm and Update.esm) back into the file. (Note that these files are still in my Skyrim Data folder) I can then sort (using LOOT) as normal and all is fine until the next mod install. There are no error messages during the installation of the mods using Vortex. Also, there are no error messages when sorting with LOOT. The Warnings present themselves after launching SkyrimVR and selecting "Continue, or Load".
  19. Topic is could anyone please link and or suggest where to find a guide on youtube to create a blank plugin in SSEEdit? I'm looking to consolidate the information in several plugins and I have way too many plugins now. I want to create an ESP-FE plugin using SSEEdit so I can consolidate the plugins into one plugin ONLY with mods that do not cover the same information so I wouldn't have any errors or competing information. I'm not a modder so any guide to creating a plugin in SSEEdit would be really helpful. Thank you!
  20. I had Skyrim SE installed to my storage drive but Vortex on my boot drive. I had to reinstall windows on my boot drive but I was able to keep my Skyrim config intact. When I reinstalled Vortex, my plugins list was still operational, but my entire modlist was gone; *but* I was able to run Skyrim as if nothing changed and I was afraid to drag my mods to vortex at once and risk the whole thing falling apart. Because of that, I chose to manually install mods from there on. Now I have a couple mods that require the FOMOD usage, and I tried dragging them into Vortex to see what would happen. I was given a message "PURGE FILES FROM DIFFERENT INSTANCE?" and I don't know what to do. I want to keep this mod config but I would ideally like to restore my entire modlist. If not, I would be fine with only having the new mods appear in Vortex. PLEASE HELP
  21. I have spent days on this and I'm getting to end of my options here, short of quitting gamming all together, Hopefully I can get a reply soon, it would mean very much. I am getting a consistent ghost file that keeps popping up after installing a mod called "Pandorable Serana" or PAN_Serana.esp in the plugins tab, The ghost file is called "Bijin AIO Legendary Plus Serana and Velerica" (which is Hidden by the author now) I have been unable to locate this file that keeps plaguing Vortex, It always shows up in the plugins tab. This ghost file is wrecking Serana's Appearance, she then ends up with a black face and vanilla, I started out with black face bug fix, (didn't work) then I tried another variation of the black face fix, it worked so then Serana has no black face anymore but any mod I use to try and edit Serana's Appearance is ignored, No other mod will ever work, if I remove the black face fix, she ends up as vanilla black face, unless I remove PAN_Serana.esp, but then obviously she is vanilla again. So, My next step was to try and uninstall Skyrim SE and reinstall, I deleted all the files in My Documents (save and .ini files) and in steam\steamapps\common\skyrimse, I also deleted the vortex files in D:\Vortex mods\skyrimse, I then uninstalled Skyrim its self from steam and made sure I had a clean install, and I did, I even had to reinstall SKSE64 in the root directory in D:\steam\steamapps\common\skyrimse\data. I had deleted all the mods in vortex so there was nothing there, I downloaded Pandorable Serana and installed it as the first mod to see if it had changed, and it did not, there it was in my plugins tab and when you hover over the dependencies Icon it says "loads after Bijin AIO Legendary Plus Serana and Velerica", mind you, this is the ONLY mod in vortex, This is what was causing Serana's black face, and it was still there (Facepalm) I then proceed to uninstall both Vortex AND Skyrim SE, thinking there was something in vortex that's being keep internal, Kind of like scripting, For example do X when Y is installed. I uninstall vortex and skyrim and delete all sub folders left behind like the ones left by skyrim, even the ones in C:\documents\Black Tree Gamming, Everything was deleted. I guess you know where I'm going with this long winded comment, lets just say after reinstalling both vortex and skyrim, the same ghost file pops up. But, That's not the end, I delete vortex and subfolder, skyrim and subfolders, and even uninstall creation kit (BTW, I had tried the ctrl-F4 in CK before deleting it, all it did was put Serana back to vanilla, but like I said, I can't install any mod that edits Serana's appearance, or I get black face and if I install the black face fix, she is back to vanilla again but all mods that edit Serana is ignored. OK, so now I'm completely at my wits end, I have no Idea what happened after uninstalling Bijin for Pandorable Serana, but even if it left files behind surely it would be ok after uninstalling and reinstalling a clean file, right? Wrong.. So. is there any help for this perplexing dilemma? everything I have tried still ends up with that stupid Bijin file. and obviously its not a problem with Pandorable Serana or Bijin so even with all the uninstalls and reinstalls that file or whatever it is, is still there. I hope someone has a solution for this, Or maybe I'm just an idiot, I have been modding for awhile and this is the first time I have ever encountered this persistent problem, I have used Creation Kit SSEEdit, uninstalling, reinstalling, everything I can think of, I was thinking it was a vortex error but, that just doesn't make sense, vortex doesn't keep extra files after their deleted, which is where I'm confused, Every source I can think of where this file could reside I have deleted, excluding vortex and skyrim of course, so where is it coming from.   22. So I haven't really modded any game as much as FO4 before so I apologise if I seem ignorant to modding in general. Before the latest manager update I had a number of creation club creations I purchased working alongside the mods I use. Since the update there are plugins appearing in the manager for the creations I bought. I don't know if they're supposed to be there but they weren't before the update and I have a message telling me the game won't launch with this many active plugins. Is there a way I can remove these plugins (or change things somehow) and keep both my mods and creations in the game?
  23. Hi, sorry im new here and tried to install some mods, but only one (Inigo V2_3) worked. The other three (Green Grass for ENB, sCaR´s Dramatic Lighting ENB, Skyrim HD-2K Textures-Complete Full) are downloaded and installed, but they dont work. They are not in the plugins. I reinstalled Skyrim (Vanilla, not SE) und re-installed them, but nothing changed. Then i checked SkyrimPrefs and "bEnableFileSelection" is 1 (bEnableFileSelection=1). Also, i startet Skyrim with SKSE and the three mods still dont work... I am using NMM 0.65.2 only for Skyrim Vanilla. I attached a picture . Can someone help me?   24. I have not played FO4 for a couple of weeks or so. In that time, I have changed nothing - did not update FO4, did not update NMM - did not touch anything FO4 related. I let Steam go ahead and update FO4. I downloaded and installed the corresponding F4SE. I tried reinstalling one or two of the mods that are "missing." None of that helped. In addition, I get popups after trying to launch that say: "Unsupported runtime version (expected v1.10.82). cc_cleaner will be disabled." Followed immediately by: "LooksMenu version Error: expected game version 1.10.82.0 your game version is 1.10.98.0 some features may not work correctly" And then: "Your game version: v1.10.98.0 Expected version: v1.10.82.0 Mod Configuration Menu will be disabled." Then the game runs, and the missing plugins error appears when I try to load a save. If I ignore the warning, the game actually loads, but mods are obviously missing. Actually, I think I know what needs to be done about the last two - I'm just including them for completeness. What the heck could mess up my game without having touched it at all? EDIT: Checked my Skyrim SE with NMM, seems okay, so I think I can rule out general filesystem booboos. Everything else in my Win10 setup works.
  25. i have reached the mod limit (255 plugins) and i am unable to load any more mods. this is super annoying because about 40% of my plugins are individual patches to make armor keywords, see-trough-scopes, and similar mods to work with my standalone weapons. how can i either get rid of these plugins, or make them all one single plugin instead of being 50+ random bs that is tanking up plugin space im not a new modder per-se, but im not super skilled either, (i have dabbled in xEdit to modify values, but beyond that, im not quite sure what to do.) i understand there is supposedly a mod on the skyrim nexus that is supposed to do this automatically, but im not sure how to get it working at all.
