I've been looking for a mod that adds a 3rd interaction to the vanilla workbenches placed all over the map. Press [spacebar] to open the scrapping menu. This would be more immersive than having to walk around with a portable scrapping bench.

I am currently working on a mod for a new recycling system that is tiered per smithing level. This is something that I'm working on as a side project to a new class mod that I'm in the middle of. I was trying to avoid this by using other recycling systems already created, but was not happy with the linear (and IMO, power-leveling) systems. What is different from other recycling mods?: 1) There are now 3 new smithing items so far (Bars=1/2 ingot, Chunks=1/4 ingot, Scraps=1/8 ingot). The material cost is still the same as the vanilla game*. The 3 items can be melted again into ingots. *possibly change jewelry cost to bars or chunks 2) There is an inherent loss (about 60%) on materials at the first tier and a 10% loss at the fifth tier. This is based on the general loss of material parts when you're crafting anything in RL and your skill level with that material. Examples: 1 ingot (dagger)=3/8 scraps at tier 1 & 7/8 scraps at tier 5 2 ingots=3/8 chunks at T1 & 7/8 chunks at T5 3 ingots=5/12 chunks at T1 & 11/12 chunks at T5 4 ingots=3/8 bars at T1 & 6/8 chunks at T4 (just to see if you're still reading) 5 ingots=4/10 bars at T1 & 9/10 bars at T5 3) The Tiers are based on the materials you can use at each smithing level. You don't need to have that skill to smelt, but you do need a higher level to get more materials back. The reason for this is that anyone can smelt any metal, but the more you know about it, the better you'll be at getting your materials back. Examples: Iron, Steel, Bonemold T1=0 smithing lvl || T2=10 || T3=15 || T4=20 || T5=25 Orcish, Advanced Steel (smithing lvl 50) T1=0 smithing lvl || T2=30 || T3=40 || T4=50 || T5=60 Daedric (smithing lvl 90) T1=0 smithing lvl || T2=50 || T3=70 || T4=90 || T5=95 This is just the basic premise for the mod, and would like to expand on it further. I've already finished the recipes for Iron. Other options/possibilities 1) Able to gain back all materials if you have the associated perk. (but I would need to do two versions for vanilla and Ordinator) 2) Creating a few other items for breaking down all the misc objects in the game. 3) Soulgem upgrading/transmutation based on enchanting lvl ... Please help me make this mod better by leaving you thoughts, opinions, and ideas. Any feedback is welcome.

I am aware of the scrapper perk and shipments but I find it quite unbelievable that only certain types of electronic components give copper when they are scrapped. Last I checked ALL electrical gadgets have copper in them not just light bulbs, hot plates and circuit boards. Even in the Fallout universe where fusion has been harnessed you would still need copper to transmit power through every single mechanism. In reality cars would give a good amount of copper, houses would give A LOT of copper, radios, TV's, watches and all lights and light posts would give copper -even without bulbs, and when you scrap a conduit or some other item that requires copper to build, it only makes sense that you would get that copper back -but you don't. The things that do give you resources back short you for some strange reason. Bethesda put up a good effort hell they did an awesome job but I sense not many of the devs ever worked in construction, or took things apart for fun, if they had they would have realized copper is friggen everywhere. So it falls to the modders to pick up the slack, we need a more logical copper scrapping mechanic. On a side note it would be awesome if you could scrap resources from static objects, I keep coming across huge computer panels and static terminals in vaults and prewar ruins, and I always think "if only there were a prompt to scrap resources from this static object"

Hi everyone ! Don't you find it annoying when you run out of wood and you see all these trees around your settlement, but they are outside the green zone. And the green zone is the law ! I'd like to grabe à woodaxe or a chainsaw or a butter knife and go chop some wood, but no, it's outside the green line. The mod idea would be to allow player to recycle scrap (trees, cars, the super-mutant-passing-by's meatbag: "hello neightb*boom*") outside the green zone, as long as you stay inside the green zone (or during the 5s "get-back-here-or-I-kick-you-out-of-the-construction-mode" timer). Clean out your settlement's surrounding and destroy your neightboor backyard ! Love Steuv

I never made mods before, but I'd start, do you always find yourself low on elirium cores but with many other items that you do not use, perhaps add a workshop option to salvage unused items back for some alloys, elirium and the core! There is one example called Elirium Grounds made by Janah, her mod allows upgrading EXO and SPIDER suit to WRAITH AND WAR SUIT! Similiar ideas can be used to turn additional AMMO such as Tracer rounds back to Elirium cores! at the cost of research and supplies of course, Can be used to organise inventory much more and fix the depletion of elirium cores late game
