Hi! I'm trying to replace a sound file in Skyrim; specifically \sound\fx\mag\vampire mag_vampire_sunlight_01 I've renamed the new sound file and converted it to xwm but don't know exactly how to insert it back "into the game". When going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\Sound\fx I can't find any "mag" folder. wat do? Thanks

I'm looking for a little help or advice, but let me preface by saying I know I don't belong here. I'm not a modder any way you swing it. With that being said my knowledge is rather below novice. The extent of my abilities has been renaming mesh files to replace the male Ancient Shrouded Armor to the Contractor armor and the female version to Mavari Armor. That is the height of my abilities. Dunno how to edit, mesh, textures or script. So with that, I am attempting to make a mod for personal use. I say personal use because I am basically trying to merge 3 mods designed by people of actual skill into one and I am hitting a roadblock. I just wanted to put it out first that I am not looking to poach other peoples work and throw it out on the nexus as my own. Now that I'm done blathering, I'll move on to the meat and potatoes. I'm trying to make lower face masks more prevalent in my game, they look amazing on open face helmets, under hoods, and so on. 2 masks in particular, the brotherhood masks from Arise Chapter One Black Sacrament , and the Bosmer mask from Bosmer Armor Pack go with every outfit my charecters wear. They go perfectly with the Dragon Carved Armor set, my go to armor. I tried really the only trick I know. I went into another mod I am fond of, Face Masks of Skyrim and starting messing around. I renamed the mesh .nif files from Black Sacrament and Bosmer Armor to match those in Face Masks, and pretty much jammed all the texture folders together. I know whoever is reading this is rolling their eyes right now at such a hodgepodge way of doing things, but its the best I could come up with. I somehow managed to break my game messing with the creation kit last year so I'm trying to do as little as possible here. Less is more when it comes to my ignorantly destructive nature. It seemed to be working out as well as all the other times I tried it at first. I found the masks, they showed up in the crafting menus, did not attempt to make one though, I had one in my inventory. Looking at it in the inventory however, the textures were a mess, though the shape was right, and it wouldn't appear on my face at all. So that's where I'm at. If anyone could be kind enough to throw a newbie a bone and let me know what I'm doing wrong or point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. I am inexperienced at this, but I'm not looking to become a modgod overnight or anything. As mXr would say, this is all about the aesthetics. I just want my game to look good while not over filling my crafting menu and saving a few esps where I can. Luckily for me, everything I'm looking is already made, unluckily for me, i have no idea how to bring it all together. Thanks for reading this far! Any help I can get would be a godsend. I want to replace Codsworth's body for a custom one, however, it's not just a matter of changing textures or meshes, I basically want to pretend I found two broken robots and I put them together both in a single one - to mix a Protectron with a Mr. Handy. That would be roughly a Handy head with Protectron legs and arms, however, I know very well that would require custom animations and rigging to work. So, what I'm asking is, is it currently possible or will it become possible with the coming of the GECK? The only mod that seems to do something resembling this, that I've seen so far, is the Corgi companions for FNV, but I may be wrong since I didn't check under the hood.

Hi, I was getting boared by the images displayed on the classes at character creation. I quickly located the file path for it and went to work replacing them with a newer verison. Problem is, I can't find this section in the TESConstruction kit. How do tell the game to load my new texturers instead of the old once?

Tutorial needed for replacing Bard's Songs in Skyrim

Hi there, Could someone please guide/link me to Tutorial or Steps on how to replace the songs sung by various Bards at different Taverns in Skyrim. I wanted to replace the default songs by my own custom songs. Searched nexus, google but I didnt found anything on the subject matter. I found the bards songs are in .fuz format in Sound/Voice/skyrim.esm/ folder and I have my replacement files in .wav format. I UNFUZEd the files to .xmw format but to further convert them to .fuz I need to have the .lip files for each of them. Now, How to create lip files ..?? The replacement files are about 2-3 minutes long and the Creation Kit does not permit dialogues more than 149 characters. Am I missing something or I need to use some other software...?? Secondly, For my Mod to work do I require to create a .esp plugin in CK or just replacing the file will do the trick..?? :blush:-

I am wondering if I were to copy an existing character to make a sibling of them, would the copy and the original always be competing for the same game space? in game? bumping into eachother in the marketplace?

I've been working on VO mod to replace the default suit voice, as I utterly abhor it. Problem is, the process by which audio files are extracted, converted, re-packed, etc. is akin to bloody brain surgery. I know asking for a new program that can handle all of that heavy-lifting is a tall order, so I won't bother. The one mod that is available has been abandoned for years now. If anyone that has the time can offer me some assistance in assuring all steps are being performed correctly, please get in touch. I'm pulling my hair out over here... :wallbash:

So... I've hit a bit of a snag when I tried to replace a .dds texture file, then I noticed that Vortex converts everything into .lnk. The situation is this: I've installed a mod, and I want to replace a certain texture file with one of my own, now the question is; how can I do that without going through hoops and loops? Any Input is greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to look into this.
