  1. Hey guys, I have started a forum thread here so we can report and discuss any findings related to the terrible missing tail and the persistent unicorn Roach. Please post anything you find here related to these issues, and others too if they arise (assuming they are possibly related to Fera's Roach Variants and the Unique Roach mods).
  2. Would any of the talented modders out there be willing to take on the task of restoring the awesome cinematic dust clouds that Roach kicked up while galloping in the VGX trailer (0:50)? I'm not sure how difficult that would be but some people discussed it over in the CD Projekt forums and suggested using the dust that Geralt kicks up when turning sharply. Any thoughts on this?
  3. If I use a gamepad and lightly push the analog stick while riding Roach, Roach will walk at a slow pace. I can't do this while using keyboard and mouse. The CTRL key is used for toggling walking for Geralt on foot, but it doesn't work with Roach. Pressing W will immediately make Roach do a trot, which, in tight spaces, it annoying, as I'll bump into things. I'd like to use KB+M for this game because of things like quicksaving and quickly switching between signs, but this one little annoyance with Roach really irks me for some reason.
  4. During my second play through of the Witcher 3, I noticed something. EVERY time you dismount to grab some loot or some herbs Roach just stands there, so you have to run back to him. This makes it so that you can't run too far away without having to call him again. Now this could be alright for some players but it somewhat breaks the immersion (for me) having Roach appear from nothing. So I would like if someone would CONSIDER making a mod that adds a whistle command (such as the "Call Roach" whistle) but instead he'd follow you around whilst you're grabbing some herbs or running around and enjoying the scenery. I would do it myself if I knew how to, but I don't (I don't even know if this is possible at this time). So I'm turning my attention towards some actual modders. I'm sure there's a lot more other than me that would like something like this kind of mod. This is not a request but a suggestion and would REALLY appreciate if someone would look into this.

  6. It really bothers me that NPCs don't move out of your way when you're riding Roach. You'll be trotting through town and peasants walk right in front of a thousand pound animal and act all offended when they get hit. Roach: *Runs along road at full gallop Peasant: *Walks in front of charging horse Roach: *Tramples peasant Peasant: Really detracts from the immersion of the game. I can't be the only one who feels this way; if you are a like-minded modder, please consider fixing this blight for the good of humanity.

In a quest where I control Ciri in the Skellige Islands, I changed to Geralt and then climbed a horse, then automatically changed to Ciri to enter the cutscene and finished the quest. After a while I realized that I could no longer dismount by horse or by boat.   9. Basically, when I pressed X to call Roach it ran up right next to me regardless if I stood still or kept running. It also allowed me to mount roach while running, in one fluid motion, without having to stop. Some help would be appreciated
  10. Hello, I'm a first time modder with a bit of 3d editing background. I only did this for fun, but I actually managed to make some progress so I want to ask for opinions/critique or help. I've started playing around with w3oven and wolvenkit and I actually managed to test a modified version of roach in game, but I have some trouble with materials and textures. The exported .tga textures (names) are very confusing, even though I checked the material in the .xml file (I packed the textures that were specified in .xml) I still got the wrong body texture. I also noticed that if I export the new body model with a principled bsdf I get no texture applied in game, but if I change that to diffuse bsdf the textures show up. Also I'm still working on the "bridle" material, because the bridle is a part of the roach model. The model seems to work fine though, the animations and shape keys work well which was a great surprise. I exported the model with visual studio as a collada file instead of double importing/exporting it as an fbx file in blender 2.76 (couldn't get the armature right). If I cook the mod in wolvenkit it doesn't work at all, but I had more success with w3oven. I'm a total beginner when it comes to modding so I wouldn't be surprised if I messed it up altogether. (I have no experience with programming either), also I know that what I chose to mod is way over my skill level
