Everyone is free to ask for help, I am alllllllwaaaays watching.... allllllwaaaays watching. Hello everyone. So it's been a while since Dragon Age: Inquisition came out. There was this extreme annoyance for many people, Leliana hardening if you missed 1 event. This would destroy player's endings, and cause some people to completely start over again. This is a tool to reverse all of that, so long as it is done before Leliana completely hardens. I originally posted this guide on the DAI Tools forums and am re-posting it here because honestly, that site is really difficult to post on, and this site has a MUCH LARGER user base. And therefore, more people who ran into this issue, will find their solution here. Here is my original post with... very few edits, mostly because I feel it is fine how it is. Oh and as always, thanks to ricco19, for it was they who originally gave the clues needed to figure this out for everyone. There is a link to his post on those forums in the following guide. Enjoy! I have figured out Ricco19's method for fixing Leliana if you botched up without knowing it!Stay tuned for I will be posting a guide on this Topic on how to do it. It is FAR easier than Ricco19 stated can can be done within 10 minutes. The first step after opening Hex Workshop for the first time. Update!As far as I know, this fix deals with fixing the first encounter you have with Leliana that matters, dealing with her in the Chantry, and determining the fate of the traitor agent. I do not know exactly what it has to do with the second encounter, where you tell her she was right to pull back her agent. This is simply steps on how to replicate what ricco19 did. Alright, as already stated, this is a guide on how to soften Leliana before doing her personal quest, so that she doesn't go ape !@#$. First thing's first.This method is for if you MISSED the event that happens at Haven with Leliana. The game considers a missed event as a False flag. Since you missed it, one cannot use the save tool to change it to true.I was not the one who came up with this method. We have ricco19 to thank for this.   2. You know what its like, you've walked across Skyrim, picked up some good loot and got some quests but the game hasn't auto-saved in a while because you haven't gone through any doors. All of a sudden you're accosted by 200 feral rabbits that have been modded to do 5'000'000 damage and your last save point was 2 hours ago. The auto-save mods aren't 100% suitable or useful especially if they're based on time which is either too much or too little. Sure you can autosave with a hotkey but sometimes you're immersed and you forget. we've all been there. Anyway, what I propose is an auto-save feature that saves the game when you have accumulated enough XP from Z4X's Experience mod. You set the XP in a MCM menu based on how much you think you'd have to accomplished to be worth autosaving and then you're good to go. Does such a thing exist? Is it even possible? P.s is it bad form to come up with a mod idea based on somebody else's mod? I feel like that involves them without asking them. I would have messaged Z4X but I don't know how to do that on Nexus Profiles so apologies if you see this and it offends you! Thanks
  3. Hello. I have honestly seriously given up on this at this point, I have just about tried everything to fix this but I have no clue at all what's causing it. So on my old character and modded playthrough when I was doing the Main Quest I encountered something that has now come to actually annoy me so much. It started occurring after the quest "Season Unending" on my old character, crashing to desktop instantly every time I tried to make any attempt to save my game. Now I recently got a new PC and I decided to create a new character and all that, almost the same mods and a couple of others. I managed to get past the quest "Season Unending" to the quest where you're in Skuldafn and you're supposed to go to Sovngarde and all that, that's where I start to crash now.. In Skuldafn. It's the exact same problem, crashing to desktop every time I try to make any attempt to save my game.   4. Okay, like the title says this is my last ditch effort to find a solution to this issue. The issue I am having is that when I try to load my last two recent saves the game CTDs, but when I load my third recent save it loads just fine. Unfortunately for me, there is a gap of about 6 real-time hours in between my 2nd and 3rd most recent saves. I've tried loading the save without mods, made sure there wasn't a load order error with LOOT, cleaned the update and DLC masters and STILL no luck. Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated and would almost certainly get you into heaven.
  5. Playing SSE. Using the SKSE alpha build (I understand this is probably causing the issue). The issue only happens occasionally and isn't too big of an issue, but is certainly annoying. The game will autosave (could be entering a building, purchasing an item, or anything that triggers an autosave) and then the game won't CTD but instead boot me back to the main menu.
  6. EDIT: I'm using Save Cleaner Tool right now and am removing all active scripts (over 403k). Currently the tool freezed itself, I will let you know if it worked. EDIT2: It never unfroze EDIT3: I started selling stuff I hoarded and put into handcart, file size got down to 185 mb. Probably most of the stuff are ingredients and food. I haven't played skyrim for over half a year and I wanted to come back right now. Yesterday I launched skyrim, loaded my save and everything was fine, but today... today the freezing started. I knew exactly what it meant because I had this issue before on the same save. The freezing wasn't hard, once every 5 minutes. But in an hour it became once per 1 minute and the freeze itself takes 10 seconds. Saving my game takes 30 seconds, and when saving using F5 it's up to 2 minutes. I checked my save file... 200 mb. I mean... come on!? Previously I reduced it to 50 mb from 120 and it was fine then but now... I just don't know what happened. Could anyone tell me which mod could do this save bloat? I've tried the CleanRegisterd something in console and it removed 0, probably because I used it half a year ago. I haven't added any mods during this time. I also tried waiting 31 days in a small area without npcs, reduced the file size only by 3 mb... I would be glad if something you tell me worked!
  7. To be brief and blunt, I got back into Skyrim for the nth time and modded the heck outta it. I've been having a ton of fun playing it and so far I am half way through the game give or take and started the Dragonborn DLC. Everything was peachy until I started the quest where you get the bloodskaal blade and then my game would start crashing instantaneously upon saving, quicksaving, or autosaving. Very frustrated with this I went to work and started trying to fix it myself and used two different save cleaners to at first take a look at what my problem may be. I used Fallrim and Skyrim Save Scapel (I used scapel to troubleshoot the CTD upon save section *I am very unfamiliar with that tool and hardly benefited from it because of my unfamiliarity* but I ended up just using Fallrim to clean my most recent save file by removing the 22 'undefined elements'). Fallrim detected 22 undefined elements and 1 undefined thread in my save (both programs did not find any orphan scripts whatsoever). Now I searched for about an hour to try and understand what this was and as you can tell I still don't. Simply put this is beyond me and I cant seem understand what my problem is after a few hours of searching and have come here to clog up the forum with another useless CTD thread. Also note I scanned way earlier saves with Fallrim to find that these undefined elements and the undefined thread were not present in earlier saves. I so far have not tested loading an earlier save where the elements and thread still exist and try to save other than say maybe 3-6 saves earlier than my most current one. I also had tested loading an earlier save where the undefined elements and undefined thread weren't present and continued my playthrough past the earlier mentioned bloodskaal blade quest but ended up with the same save problem moments after finishing it. I just hope I'm being a huge dunce here and these 'undefined elements' and the 'undefined thread' are no problem whatsoever and there is just a simple problem I am missing. From what I can deduce with my limited knowledge of how Skyrim modding works though I am most positive though that the issue lies within these undefined elements and the undefined thread. I almost forgot as well, I'm under the impression that my save game is not bloated as well, according to save game scapel a 'healthy' 600 hour save file is about 25mb whereas mine is approaching 30mb. I feel like it may be teetering on the edge of being bloated but I can't say for sure since there were absolutely zero problems before this in my game.

I had just conversed with Parthuurnax and spent the night with the greybeards. Upon attempting to sleep on a bed in High Hrothgar, the game seemed to lock up. After about a minute of waiting, I decided it had gotten stuck trying to sleep. I ctrl+alt+del and killed the TESV.exe process and reloaded. This went well. I went back to the bed, but decided to save before sleeping. The save... took forever... about 2 minutes. Then I tried to sleep. It got stuck again, but this time I waited... and waited... and waited... and finally it entered sleep and passed through the night. Got up, went to leave High Hrothgar, and it took over 2 minutes again to go outside. Knowing something must be up with the save file, I decided to exit the game and check on it. Well... even exiting the game took an obnoxious amount of time. I pulled up Ashlyn's one and only non-autosave file in Save File SCript Cleaner, and to my surprise, it was blank. The only thing it pulled out of the save was the screenshot. Upon doing anything the program 'stopped working'. I tried loading the auto-saves. Same story... Scared, I opened the game and tried to load Ashlyn's save. "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" My heart sank. I tried loading Autosave 1 "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" I tried loading Autosave 2 "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" Autosave 3 "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" :sad: Loaded an earlier file of my assassin character, Suki. It loaded just fine. Tried loading Ashlyn one more time, just because I'm stuck in denial like that "The save file is corrupt and cannot be loaded" W-why, SKyrim.... why? Why so sudden? Why when every thing is so stable and reliable? Oh, 'cause I modded the game... Where did I mess up? By modding the game? By calling task manager and killing the process? Wh-what's going to happen with my other characters? I can start over with Ashlyn but still have to worry about this random nonsense happening to me again? Am I suppose to accumulate hundreds of save files so I can try to fall back on one? WHY DID THIS HAPPEN TO ALL 3 AUTOSAVES, AND MY MANUAL SAVE ALL AT ONCE?! ALSO WHAT HAPPEND TO THE .SKSE FILE IN SAVE?
  9. Hello I'm having a problem creating a weather. First I tried to just duplicate the skyrim clear weather, and make changes to it. Sadly, it didn't save the changed made. Hell, I couldn't even change the ID of the weather. Then I tried to create a complete new weather, and guess what, that didn't save either. Is there a way to create a bloody weather, or is ck bugged this much ?
  10. So apparently I hecked up my game real bad, I've done it before and was able to fix it when the issue was just an out-of-place file or something but I can't seem to figure it out this time. Everything was working fine, I changed a few background tiles (wallpaper and floor) in one room of my house, repacked everything, and now whenever I try to load my save I get kicked back to the title screen, and this is displayed in the cmd console thing: It's probably something obvious, but I don't have a whole lot of experience doing this. Can anyone give me a hand? I didn't really mess with anything other than two visual tiles but somehow I managed to send everything to heck.
  11. Hello all. I am a moderately experienced mod-gamer (I ran Oldrim with 252 mods gradually adding them to my original game successfully, and have been modding Bethesda games since Morrowind) experiencing an issue that I don't know how to fix, or even more importantly, how to avoid in the future. THE PROBLEM: Skyrim Special Edition CTD's when saving. Any type of save, hard, quick, auto, even the console. I can continue playing for as long as I want, there are no other symptoms, I simply can't save. The game played normally for 100+ hours, then started experiencing this bug. When checking the save folder, .TMP files were created instead of .ESS files. I've scoured this forum and the web for days and haven't found anything relevant, so I figured it was time to try this. I use Nexus Mod Manager and Loot religiously. MOD HISTORY: MODS INSTALLED: ATTEMPTED FIXES: 1. This reminded me of a problem I had with Oldrim when SKSE had updated and I didn't know but had downloaded mods that require the new version. The fix for that was of course to update SKSE. Seeing as how that can't be the problem, I checked that thread for all of the other "fixes" such as player.kill, waiting inside, etc., to no avail. 2. I then tried loading my oldest save (65), which worked fine until I reached Save 93, and the problem reared its head again. 3. Thinking the game unplayable (and not wanting to lose 100 hours of my ideal play-through) I opted for a Hail Mary and started removing mods (I know, the cardinal sin. I was desperate). Oddly enough, this worked, but in a strange way: It didn't matter WHICH mods I removed, it only mattered that I remove something. In this way I could play for about 5 hours before the saving issue started again, at which point I would remove another mod, which would get me another 5 hours, etc. Of course, this is untenable. 4. I then tried uninstalling and reinstalling Skyrim, as well as re-downloading all of my mods, again to no avail. SAVE STABILITY AND HISTORY: All of my saves can run for varying amounts of time before experiencing this bug. Here are the details of my notable successful saves: I am reticent to start another save until I know what caused this problem, seeing as how I don't want to lose 100 hours of progress again. I've done LOOT sortings of my mod order and the problem persists. I have no actual play issues of any kind, with everything coming out schmick and smooth. I run SSDs and fallout 4 puts barely any strain on my system with even full ultra specs and lots of entitites on screen. Long story short, it is absolutely not a hardware issue. I added the unlimited time after death mod to see if a manual attempt to load after dying would help, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Sometimes after dying, I can manage to load (maybe 2.5% of the time). I'm trying to figure out what the issue is, as the onset is fairly early and it breaks what is basically (for me) my perfect mod list. I also checked my save files and none of them were TITAN size. I had a problem with a good amount of my saves not loading in Skyrim, searched the Internet far and wide and found a good deal of answers, none of them working for me, until on a whim I found a quick-fix that seems to make my saves loadable again. It's weird. I thought of it when someone in another post was talking about plugin load order issues causing saves not to be loadable. So I went into "My Documents" and then "My Games" and "Skyrim" then "Saves" (or wherever your saves might be), and I deleted the .skse files with the corrupt saves that I had actually written down to flag as corrupt and then replaced their .skse files with that of one from an earlier save, copying and renaming until I had replaced all the .skse files. I did this for 23 saves that were previously unloadable (and I MEAN unloadable with quick CTD on click), and it worked. ALL corrupt saves were again able to load. Try it out if your having this problem.
  16. SSEEdit loads everything just fine, Skyrim starts up fine, but crashes when I try to load my save or start a new game, it loads for a while and then ctd. I would really like to know why it's happening, because I rather not reinstall everything.   17. Hello My HDD had unfortunately died, and all my Witcher 3 save files with it. I was wondering if anyone has a similar save file, which means new game +, almost all gear and potions, just after the Skellige funeral. Prefer if you didn't romance Triss and if you killed the Ancient tree spirit.
  18. I started experiencing a really sudden save problem, where the game would take a full minute to save. Since this happens every fast travel, it's pretty awful. It's any save too. I have encountered this issue before and I used to be able to rectify this problem by using autosave manager, and using incremental saves instead of autosaves. But now even this doesn't work. I had a look in my skse save files and there are a lot of repeated instances. Not sure if this is normal or not. But if it isn't, how can I clean it? Or is it unsalvageable? I've also tried emptying the save folder. I believe the only real safe way to save a Skyrim game is pressing ESC and doing a manual save (because when entering the menu all scripts are paused, which doesn't happen when auto-/quicksaving). So to make a manual save with one keypress I made the following makro asigned to a keyboard key: ESC delay 1 sec RETURN delay 0.3 sec ARROW DOWN delay 0.3 sec RETURN My question: does anyone know how quick the scripts will be paused (100 ms, 1 sec, more?), because I would like to tweak the makro to be as fast as possible by decreasing the delays without risking that the scripts are not yet paused.
  20. So I have been having issues the last day or two where if I try to load a save in game I will get a CTD about a second into the loading screen. This also happens if I die and it tries to load the last save. I've updated my mods and used LOOT which said everything was ok. It's just started happening recently like I said and it seems to only happen on one of my characters. I have the papyrus logs here as well. I tried to stop what was causing the crash but can't seem to pin it down. Any help would be greatly appreciated :smile: Papyrus log
  21. Hello I haven't played Skyrim for a long time and started playing again. It all went fine until some day later when I all out of sudden couldn't save anymore, at all. In menu, the "Save" button is grey and has no effect pressing it, pressing F5 for quicksave does nothing. Even when i try saving in console it says "Can't save in this location". Only autosave works. I Have tried following -Start new game -Remove save files -Reinstall Skyrim -Disable mods

I have a friend whom i'd like to surprise, with a save based on her face. I'm not really good at the face editor, so i'd kindly ask someone who could help me with this. Being a surprise, i can't just ask her to take pictures perfectly suited for using as a basis, so anyone doing this must do it based on selfies, etc. Vanilla assets only. Please?
  23. Hello guys! I have been playing my current playthrough for quite a few months and constantly plagued by random CTDs immediately after loading save games (i.e. right after the loading is finished and the before the game is about to start, judging from the time it takes). The odds of CTD are around 50-70 percent I would say... What I normally do is wait a few minutes, then try again, and it may or may not crash again. Completely random it seems. And it doesn't seem to be related to any particular saves. I tried with different saves from different stages of the game and the occurrence is just random. Any save may or may not load... But when the save is actually loaded successfully I usually play for a few hours in a row and NEVER have I experienced in-game CTD once. No CTDs in game (so far in the past few months), only random CTDs after loading saves. Does anybody has any idea what might cause this? The vanilla game doesn't have this issue. So I guess I can of course disable my mods one by one and see which is the culprit, but I was just wondering if you guys have any clue...   24. Hi, I have CTD's every time now when I try to fasttravel and/or try to save a game, it also occurred a while later by just moving around, after about 10 seconds to 1 minute. I have around 80 mods installed, also use LOOT, FO4Edit, everything is the latest version(NMM,Fallout4). Now first of all, I am fairly new to computer stuff like this. I re-installed my Fallout 4 and I disabled all my mods and only enabled the DLC's(Automatron,WW,Contraptions,Far Harbor), I keep getting the same CTD's. I tried opening up FO4Edit, but it says: FO4Edit 3.1.3 EXPERIMENTAL starting session 2016-06-30 14:12:02 Using Fallout4 Data Path: Using ini: Fatal: Could not find ini The FNVEdit loads just fine for New Vegas. So, I am a bit lost here, I can't seem to find it and fix the problem, is there someone who knows what is going on and maybe has some options I could explore? I didn't think much of this method, as I've been using it for a long time and thought that everyone must know it, but I've since had a few comments in my mod forums suggesting it might be useful to others. If a better post covering this exists, let me know and I'll close this thread. Background: My current game build has now hit over 1000 mods, with ~650 plugins (ESMs/ESPs - right hand pane in ModOrganiser) active, including some biggies like Frostfall, ETaC, dyndoLOD, RND, IJ. Naturally, these plugins are merged using Mator's awesome software, down to about 180 plugins. One MergedPlugin has over 240 mods in it. Yes, this build is for playing, not just testing. And yes, it crashes, sometimes a lot, sometimes only once every few hours. Anyway, the point of this post is to explain how I reload a saved game that would normally be impossible to load. I started getting unloadable savegames around the 400 mods mark so here is my workaround: 1) Establish a PureVanilla profile in MO with no mods loaded except the official DLCs and SKSE. Not even the unofficial patches should be there (tbh; I haven't rigorously tested that requirement). 2) Start a NEW game. Play through the intro until you exit from Helgen Caverns whereupon you will be met by that Imperial dude or that Stormcloak guy. 3) Save the game as "PureVanilla" or some such and NEVER delete or replace it. It must never be re-saved or modified. 4) Exit. Go back to MO and load up your normal gaming profile with all your mods. 5) Launch the game and Load your PureVanilla savegame. Once it has loaded, if you want to be extra cautious you can wait until all the notification messages in the top-left have been and gone, but this is not usually necessary. 6) Return to the main menu and Load your unloadable game. 7) If it fails, go to the overwrite folder in MO, empty it, run, load PureVanilla savegame and then load your real savegame again. As a last resort, try loading PureVanilla twice before loading your real game. I have also had some success by emptying the overwrite folder, loading PureVanilla, loading savegame, [CTD], leave the stuff in the overwrite folder that is now there, launch, load PV, load savegame. I don't know why, but for me this has almost always worked (2 failures in 2000 savegames; then I gave up and loaded an earlier save). I don't mind it being an inscrutable black box, as long as it works. The only reason that I know of that a game may still fail to load is if you have more than 2^32 strings in your savegame which has caused the string counter to reset to 0 or 1. If that happens, nothing can save you except finding a previous save that still works and then removing some string-heavy mods (which is always inherently dangerous anyway) before continuing. At the moment my game has ~51k strings, so I may be in trouble in another 100hrs. Anyway, I hope this helps somebody out there to save their 100+ hrs savegame. If you think this is all amateurish crap, just let me know because I'd love to hear from an expert as to why this works (or shouldn't work...but does).
