Hello! I've only JUST recently delved into the world of recoloring things in Skyrim. I have a character I'm using for a story, and for her specific role, she needs a specific horse. To get that specific horse, I figured "Oh, okay, I'll just extract Shadowmere's texture from the .bsa and make it ENTIRELY black in GIMP, and edit the eyes and saddle. No biggie". How wrong I was! I've never had so much trouble recoloring anything within the world of gaming! You see, my saddle retexture came out entirely fine. It's Shadowmere being absolutely stubborn! He remains that same ole dingey brownish color (that I hate)! The eyes remain unchanged as well. I'm not talking about the glow, that's something I actually prefer. I need a vampiric horse, and it seems Shadowmere is especially immune to vampirism (retextures). :I So... I'll tell you how I went about this. I extracted from the .bsa, edited it in GIMP, and exported the edited version to my desktop. From there, I copied the directory string (starting with the Data folder) WORD FOR WORD AND CASE FOR CASE, and placed the edited version in the new directory I made on my desktop. I then took that directory OFF of my desktop and merged it with my Skyrim Data folder. The Saddle shows up fine! It's even in the same folder (they had the same directory in the .bsa)! But NOPE! Not Shadowmere's sleek new look! Why is this? I'm about a good ten seconds from ripping my hair out over it! Is it because Shadow's technically an NPC, thus he may have something needing to be done in Creation Kit (which I'm a total newbie at)? I'm at a total loss here, because oddly, the same thing is happening to some wig recolors I edited. HELP! ANY info is MORE than appreciated! EDIT: Never mind, I redid the last part from an old save and now Shadowmere is out of the flames. Aperantly she stayd in falmes cause she was on fire in that save alreasy O_O. ____________________________________ Okay, I got myself this sloff's horses mod via a link of recomended mods on the Oblivion Nexus. I didn't want Shadowmere as a nightmare so Ieft that. When I finally got far enough to get to own Shadowmere, my Shadowmere was was infisible with flames. I gave her a 3D model and deleted everything I could find with flames (there where only flame related things in the spell tab) and yes, Shadowmere has a 3D model now, but it still has flames :blink:. Should I redo the game before I happend to own Shadowmere (cause its already on fire) or is there a way I can fix it in the CS? In the render view of Tamriel Ford Fraguld (Not sure how you spell it) I can see Shadowmere but it has no flames. When I try to edit redering (not sure if this is CS rendering only or also in game) I can not puss turn of fire cause its just not selectable. I'm quite new to CS, I Only once added hair from one custum race to another (still needing the race its copied from cause its lnked to that) and that took my an entire day to get to work, and I can chance the look of a horse now. Pleas if you know how to help me, tell me every step I need to do so I can understand it more easily. Many thanks, Jessica

So after having visited, explored, and enjoyed Solstheim, I returned to Skyrim only to find Shadowmere gone. He is not at any of the stables, not where I have quick travelled to in recent memory, and I have spent a great amount of time searching for him, hoping to find his re-spawn point. I have pretty much covered every piece of land conceivable and followed all rivers and currents to make sure Shadowmere didnt get washed out to sea. As I went by the old Dark Brotherhood sanctuary, I saw the pool you get Shadowmere at and thought "wonder why someone couldn't just make this a multi use type concept. So my request is basicallya mod that makes it so players can either resurrect/recall Shadowmere to that point. Thank you for your time and possible efforts.

Not sure if its the right question but I'm having rather annoying problem. It all started with Shadowmere and Immersive Horses, my game started crashing after Astrid gave that damn horse to me. Every time I tired to approach her CTD(horse not Astrid). In my log I saw that the game was spamming DBShadowmereEmergeScript error and that was the last thing in the log before crash. So I decided to remove Immersive Horses as it was the only mod that could cause such a problem, no other horsie mods. Then I cleaned my save with Fallrim Tools, had tons of suspended stacks with this particular script. Then manually forced the quest to skip the approach Shadowmere step, also disabled the horse with console together with that bubbly mass in the pool. That fixed the problem, for sometime at lest. Now everytime I fast travel that damned script pops out again crashing my game. Then I have to remove it from save and all is fine. I can play for hours with out a crash until I fast travel of course. So my question is, is there's some method to block that script or any ideas how I could fix this?
