  1. Help! "Someone do something" When I fast travel in falkreath or just manually enter there, my game just crashes immediately and my crash log is not generated! Even on a new savegame! Is there any idea what's causing this. After completing the Thieves Guild Questline, Falkreath hold just starts crashing when you enter manually or fast travel there. Please help someone do something! I don't want to take too long on fixing this! I already have FNIS, and SKSE64 AE installed. Here is my mod order that is organized from the Load Order Optimization Tool.
  2. I haven't been able to play Skyrim since Todd decided to break it back in December. I updated my mods recently hoping that whatever mod(s) were causing my game to ctd have been fixed. Unfortunately that is not the case and I have no idea where to start in regards to troubleshooting the issue. I could really use some help.   3. Hello, I have a big problem with my game I can't open it ! When I launch it, the SKSE console opens and then nothing :confused: I have a lot of mods and I thought it came from some of them but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't find any way to detect where it came from. I have no log since these do not have time to be done (or then I do not know where to look for them, nothing on Papyrus'). I tried LOOT and it detect nothing, Wrye Bash, Creation Kit for Oldrim mods, SSEEdit, Firewall blocking. I don't know what to do now, I tried many techniques for no result. This is my load order : My entire mod collection for more details : My main hypothesis was an outcome because of a RAM problem but I found no solution since there is not supposed to be any such problem. Also such problems with SKSE.ini but I didn't know how it work at all. Thank you in advance for your reading and help ! EDIT: Forgot this post, the CTD was due to forgetting to unpacked RaceMenu and add SKEE plugin... Sorry for the useless post :wallbash:
  4. SKSE64 files are all properly installed via instructions provided by the developers. I can run the exe fine and my game works, however, I can't get it to show up in the menu through NMM. Does anyone know how to fix this?
  5. Haven't tried used SKSE64 but finally decided to try it. Followed the installatuon guide on the steam forums to a T but when i try to launch it from the Skyrim SE folder it just says 'Application load error 3:0000065432'.   6. So, here's a thing: constant loading in-between interiors and exteriors is annoying as hell, especially in 2018. For many years developers tried to create seamless worlds(or at least an illusion of a seamless world), using aggressive object culling techniques. You can find such examples in games like GTA IV or Witcher 2. Perhaps someone who knows his ways in F4SE can comment on whether additional scripting would help to achieve something like that.   7. I've got a good game going. Pretty stoked and been binging out on a good mod setup. I boot the game and play for a few hours. I exit and decide to add the "no spinning death animation," mod after crushing a few bandit skulls just to watch them do their little dance and fall over. When I reboot the game I get this message, "You are using a newer version of Skyrim than this version of SKSE64 supports. If this version just came out, please be patient while we update our code. Runtime: 1.5.53 SKSE64: 2.0.8" I believe the current build on silverlock is 1.5.50. I have no idea what happened. I thought I was running 1.5.50, but apparently I'm not. I never saw Skyrim do any kind of update, and was unable to find any news online about a recent update. My thoughts were maybe the "no spinning death animation," mod changed something. But I disabled the mod and still get the message. Was just curious if anyone else is having this problem or can confirm that an update hit Skyrim today? I don't mind waiting for silverlock to update the code, but if this is an easy fix that's unrelated to skse64, I'd rather fix it so I can keep binging!
  8. I have been away from Skyrim for quite a while but have come back. I had well over 2000 hours in Oldrim with a heavily modded game. Now I am trying SSE but I have run into a couple of issues that make no sense to me and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. The game loads and starts but I get error notices when I start the game, 3 of them in fact. In order they appear; 1. SKSE not running. SKYUI will not work correctly. 2. FNIS PCEA2 not running. FNIS version V0.0.0 older than required. SKSE not started. (I have the SKSE 2.0.8 from Silverlight loaded as well as the latest FNIS SE 7_4_5 from the Nexus.) 3. RaceMenu Error: You are running SKSE version 0.0.0.0 expected 2.0.7.56 or greater. SKSE script mismatch detected (57) expected (0). Error codes (0)(1)(3). I have downloaded and reloaded SKSE 2.0.8 from the Silverlight site as well as the FNIS SE mod. No change. LOOT has sorted my mods and SSEEDit shows no errors. Now the game plays. I have not started the Dragonborn quest but am running around and have become the Thane in Solitude. The only CTD I have found was when I was going after Potema. The game crashes when I try to enter the sanctum after killing the inner circle. So far, everywhere else I have been able to go but I am still pretty early into the game as far as other quests. Any ideas how to fix this?
  9. Hello, I'm posting here because I'm totally stumped. I've had SKSE64 work with Creation Kit before, but I simply can't get it to work since facotry resetting my PC. I've unpacked Scripts.zip into my data folder, and I've copied the contents of skse64_2_00_08\data\scripts\source into my data\source\scripts. This is what it took to get it working last time, and it's what every tutorial tells me to do, yet CK won't compile any script using SKSE functions. Please help me if at all possible.
  10. When installing SKSE in Mod Organizer, after adding the executables to the Skyrim folder, you had to point Mod Organizer to the Data folder or you received a "No game data on top level" error. When installing SKSE64 with Vortex, do I need to package the Scripts separately and install them, or can I just install the "mod" from the original archive and let Vortex find the scripts? Edit: I simply installed it from the archive and was able to get a a version number when using the GetSKSEVersion command. Will this matter in the long run, or should I go ahead and repackage the scripts separately?
  11. Yep, bethseda released more creation club trash(I think). If you have auto-update turned off, you're safe. Now we wait for skse64 and other skse related mods to get updated. Please do not to try to rush them. If you did update skyrim se, roll back your update to old version. I'd wish we were able to turn off creation club and avoid those useless updates...
  12. So, I'm doing a new mod loadout in Special Edition with the SKSE64 alpha version. I never had a problem with it before, but now it looks like there's a problem. Allowing the app or not launches SSE anyway, but not on fullscreen. I've tried changing SkyrimPrefs.ini through MO2 and in the folder, but that doesn't change a thing. I've also reinstalled SKSE, but that didn't work.
  13. Hello. i have a very strange issue. I have no SKSE under game. no matter what. Even if i start game wth skse launcher. under game my skse mods not willing to work. no skyui, no racemenu... etc. but all is activated in mods menu. every other mode works which not need skse. Whats wrong? im not using mod menu or nmm. just manually. i already tried to reinstall all mode. but nothing.
  14. I recorded a video to help showcase my issue, unfortunately, I can't post it here so I will do my best to verbally explain. (if you want to check it out, I can email it. Though it isn't entirely necessary that anyone sees it). SKSE64 will not open. I have tried to run it through NMM (after removing the 64 from the launcher name), run it by clicking on the launcher.exe, running the launcher.exe as an admin, and done the latter two after returning the .exe to its original name. Every time I run the program, however, SkyrimSE will boot up, load for a few seconds, but crash before any window ever appears. I can even pull up Task Manager and watch as the program opens, holds for a few seconds, then crashes. As far as I know, running the game with no SKSE64 works, though I have a few mods that depend upon it and I don't want to give them up. EDIT: Check the date of this being posted (no it is not a joke). This post is NOT addressing SKSE64 not supporting the current version of SSE; That is another issue entirely. This is me asking for help on a seperate issue that arose when I tried to launch SSE with SKSE64, which took place a few days before the update.
  15. Today i tried to launch skyrim and i got the skse64 error that says something like "you need to update skse64 because the game has been updated" so i just updated skse64. But when i launched the game the screen stayed black for a while and then it just crashed to my desktop. I tried launching the normal game without skse64 and it was working fine.   16. I have tried merging the files within my SkyrimVR folder in my steamapps directory, but it always gives me a popup saying 'Can not find SkyrimSE.exe, is there any way to run skyrim vr with the script extender or am I missing a step? Thanks

Relatively new to modding, although the amount of frustration at not getting things to run has led me to watching and reading every tutorial, blog post, and forum thread that I can find on the topic, so i can at least do the jargon side of things. Computer details: I have updated my skyrim to 1.5.39 (initially purchased it on 3/30/2018), manually installed skse64 2.00.07 into both my games/sse folder and my games/steam/sse folder, run nmm to enable all plugins and mods, and loot to order everything, skyUI is version 5.2. PC is an HP Pavilion with 12 gb RAM and rather new. Scenario: I have skse64 to launch as an admin, and it works because I am entirely capable of playing the game with no CTDs encountered, but when I load a save, it states that "SkyUIError Code 1: SKSE 64 is not running. SkyUI will not work correctly." It mentions that there has been an update as well, but I redownloaded the skse files (2.00.07) this morning and manually installed them, then uploaded them to NMM and activated all relevant plugins; I have also deactivated the 2.00.06 that I had been running, althought that hadn't worked either. In spite of this, I am able to continue playing. Interestingly, opening any menu option still appears in the SkyUI format and there is no issue with interacting with any parts of my inventory. MCM does not load mods even after a waiting period or by using the command "setstage SKI_configmanageinstance 1". Unfortunately, I seem to be the only one on this side of the internet to be having this problem. I have little doubt that it's something on my end of the game, but I have manually moved all of the relevant files into the SSE folder and the SKSE src and Data folder into the SSE data folders, uploaded everything to the NMM, ensureed that all plugins and mods are for SSE, etc. I have not been able to locate a plugins.txt to ensure that a * is before the SkyUI, but since the menus are working I doubt that's the issue. Starting anew game does not resolve the issue. Hopefully this is enough information. If you need any sort of file from me, please tell me the specific location and file type that you need. I've gotten a few complaints about CTDs, I only CTD if I mash sprint after spawning a large number of NPCs. I'm not sure why this causes CTDs, I know that on my end setting iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=153600 under [Papyrus] makers me rock solid stable even when stress testing. Apparently that doesn't help some people. Have I done something wrong, is this a problem with SKSE or something else entirely?

Vortex Version: 1.9.10 Electron: 25.8.4 Node: 18.15.0 Chrome: 114.0.5735.289 Mods in total: 146 mods (4 currently activated) Windows Version: Windows 11 Home Installed RAM: 32.0GB System Type: 64-bit / x64 My Issue: Despite manually setting my directory path to G:\Skyrim Anniversary Edition, it doesn't launch my GOG Skyrim and instead I'm stuck with the error message: "Executable doesn't exist, please check the configuration for the tool you tried to start." This is referring to my Steam Skyrim which I have uninstalled awhile ago and I've gotten rid of it's executable containing Skyrim Special Edition for Steam. G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common still exists cuz that's where Baldur's Gate 3 is in and I might want to mod it one day lol. The recent Skyrim update that occurred on the 5th of December last year was so frustrating for me, that's why I gotten rid of my Steam Skyrim as I'm unable to play it! Yes, I've downloaded mods many people from the community claimed to be working for them, but not for me so hench I cut my losses. One thing I forgot to do when uninstalling Steam Skyrim was to manually get rid of all my mods I played for previously, if I gotta get rid of all of them so be it, I would love a clean start anyways. UPDATE: I don't know how to feel about this. I exited Vortex, then got onto it again and then I find my GOG SKSE64 2.2.3 has now decided to load in, my game launched normally and to make things even awesome, I've activated the mod Alternate Start - Live Another Life to see if everything is actually working out for the first time in awhile and lo and behold, the mod works!! The downside is I keep getting a message (from the mod (Part 1) SSE Engine Fixes probably being the culprit...) that couldn't load a plugin and me continuing to load my game involves lost save data and such and such, fun... I've being told that I shouldn't really worry about this as this mod in question has yet to be updated but I don't know, I might have to keep digging in my own time if me losing my save data could occur and I wouldn't want that in my new playthrough!! Anyways, thank you for putting up with my rambling and if anyone has any useful information to provide me, this is what Vortex forums is all about.
  20. So, im pretty new to modding and pcs in general. So, Ive installed SKSE64, and it works fine, I can launch the game with it. Then, when I start it via Vortex, it gives me an error message (screenshot below). Im completely clueless on how to fix it, and im completely lost
  21. Hi! I have recently purchased Skyrim SE (version 1.6.353 i.e. AE upgraded version) and after contemplating a mod list for about 2 weeks of some 44 mods. All installed via Vortex, apart from SKSE and ENB stuff which were installed manually. I'm using the latest (AE) version of SKSE64 and have created an .ini file manually as per the folder readme FAQ. I'm also following the recommendations to use this with the latest versions of SKSE Library, PapyrusUtil and the updated SKSE64 DLL patch for Simply Knock SE - these four combined should make Simply Knock work under upgraded AE conditions according to sticky posts. And yet... Starting up Skyrim I get this error message: "Simply Knock Error - SKSE. Skyrim Script Extender is required for Simply Knock to function. Please update to the latest version of SKSE. Detected version: 0.0000 Expected version: 2.0005 or greater." Now SKSE is selected as primary in Vortex and Vortex has no complaints about it. Most of the other mods using SKSE have no complaints either, apart from RaceMenu which also detects a 0.0000 version and has weird $$$ signs in menu buttons (also due to SKSE errors?). In Vortex, Simply Knock SE also has a LOOT error message stating it wants PapyrusUtil version 3.9 or above - the most recent PapyrusUtil version for AE (4.3) is indeed installed, but it is as if the older unupdated SE mod can't recognise the AE compatible PapyrusUtil and SKSE (guessing wildly here - I'm just a humble user with no programming experience). I'm also getting complaints from Nether's Follower Framework: "Nether's Follower Framework only shows 0 follower slots in total (should be 10). Cause: Another mod that is lower in the load order is overwriting the DialogueFollower quest. Solution: Exit your game and move nwsFollowerFramework.esp lower in your load order, as close to the end as you can." Okay, so there were some lighting mods and the brawl bug fix afterwards, but just to be sure I marked nwsFollowerFramework.esp as a "late loader" in the menu to the right, and it indeed jumped to the very bottom of the plugin list as I reloaded Vortex. But... I'm still getting the very same error message. So I'm guessing it's not due to load order or the DialogueFollower quest, but that it too might have some incompatibility with the SKSE64 AE version due to NFF being a slightly dated mod. Contemplated solutions: 1) Install an earlier version of SKSE instead - I'm guessing this will bring more new problems than it will solve. 2) Install earlier versions of SKSE and PapyrusUtil and overwrite them with the new versions, so remnants of the old ones are there as dummies to make older mods happy. No idea if it could work. 3) Forget about Simply Knock and enjoy the game anyway. Live with RaceMenu problems and get another follower mod - I'm taking recommendations for something reasonable, updated and good to go with AE. Unelegant but I suppose I could settle. 4) Ask for help on these forums and try to resolve my problems that are most likely due to some user error I have missed - this is where I'm at now obviously. Keeping fingers crossed for some help! :D
  22. Hello, I've been modding Skyrim Special Edition through Vortex for a couple years now. I recently took about a nine month break from playing and decided today to get back into playing. After checking for updates and downloading the latest versions of all my mods, I tried launching the game through Vortex but I get an error message saying that I have a version of SSE that is too new for SKSE64 to run. I checked the update logs on steam and it appears the game was updated last on the 6th of January, 2022, which I'm assuming is the issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled Vortex to see if that would help but I get the same message. I've never launched the game through SKSE64 before so I'm confused as to why this is happening. I also didn't download the Anniversary Update that recently came out, so as far as I know my game files should have changed minimally. Is there something I need to do to launch the game or is it a matter of waiting for the newest version to come out?
  23. Not my 1st day modding, but it IS my 1st day trying Vortex. I thought Vortex had installed SKSE64 correctly. There are 5 SKSE64 files (dll, exe, txt, dll, txt) present in the game's root folder. Clicked "Install" click "deploy", etc. Still, I'm greeted with SkyUI Error Code 1 "SKSE is not running". It's been a couple years since I used this stuff. Is this a known error or some kind? Am I forgetting to do something? Have I used Vortex incorrectly? I'm assuming I'm not supposed to manage SKSE64 manually like in the old days, but I just don't know. And I'm far too busy with RL to deal with modding hassles like I once did... the reason why I'm trying out "user friendly" Vortex in the 1st place. I hope this is a simple head-smack "but of course" fix. Thanks in advance for any tips.
  24. I was doing okay following a thorough modding walkthrough. But then I started over after uninstalls and removes. Now when I try to install SKSE64 via silverlock or NexusMods, I'm missing a .dll file + not able to see in Vortex Tools. In trying to fix the issue, I've become bit overwhelmed and stuck. I could use a hand getting to the point where I can get through my mod list and start playing. Bare minimum, could someone help me clean restart the modding process + get basics installed (skse64, sseedit, ussep, address library, sse engine fixes)?
  25. Having a new crash, started after trapping the dragon in Dragonsreach. It was happening whenever I went into third person and zoomed in on my character's face, or it happens when the dragon takes me to Skuldafn. I have a crash log and have read a guide but still don't understand what most of it means or what to do about it. If anyone could take a look at it and tell me where to start, it would be greatly appreciated. I have not uninstalled anything this playthrough except for a texture replacer for an outfit and this is literally the first crash I have had this playthrough.
