  1. I'm working on a mod that adds a unique plant that I want to give 10 of a single item. I figure I could use a script with an onactivate event, but I have no idea how to write a script to check and only give the items if the ingredient has respawned and is harvestable again, so I'm hoping someone can give me a more simple way to just add 10 of the ingredient when the specific plant is harvested instead of the default 1 item. If there's no other way, could someone fill me in on how to set up a script so it only works when the ingredients on a plant are available? EDIT: Found a script called DefaultFakeHarvestableScript in CK. For anyone else trying to do the same thing, make your plant an activator instead of a tree, copy the body of that entire script into a new script, and change "1" in the line: (akActivator as actor).addItem(IngredientHarvested, 1, true)to however many ingredients you want to add, in the properties you can manually set the respawn time and etc. EDIT2: Hearthfires adds plants that give multiple harvests through a misc item/script as well, slightly easier than scripting a fake plant activator, but I already have the script for activator, so I won't bother looking into detail how the BYOH plants work

  3. I first converted Thor's armor from FBX to OBJ and then imported it into Outfit Studio. I then converted the texture from PNG to DDS in Photoshop (photo attached below), but I'm having trouble working with the texture and it looks like this when I import the texture. Does anyone know how to fix or create the texture? Please help me

So I'm in the middle of porting Immersive weapons over to SSE and I've run into a problem where whenever I try and manually add the archive into NMM I keep getting the Error "Mod can't be added". I looked on other forum posts with people that seemed to have the same problem but none of their "fixes" worked for me. Attached are screenshots of the error message, and directories. Help Would be greatly Appreciated!!!
  5. Hi guys. I'll really cut it short. In these 7 days I've been trying to mod my skyrim with a lot of guides here and there, most of them were recently updated. I reinstalled skyrim and mods everytime a guide didn't make skyrim work (Sometimes just a Blackscreen, sometimes only bethesda logo and then crash) Now I'm really pissed off since my computer is starting to slow down beacouse of all the file I modified and downloaded AND I can't even play skyrim vanilla. Is there someone KIND ENOUGH to give me something like a .zip with all their mods already installed? I don't know if it is possible to do something like that or similar but I really can't stay 12 more hours at modding Skyrim, I'm such a noob at it. I just want to playing Skyrim without that bad graphics and feel more immersed into it. Also, please. I know modding skyrim takes patience and bla bla bla but it seems like I'm always able to f*** it up.   6. Hello, I've been modding since Morrowind and there is just so much thrown into Helgen that I can't find anything. And in Solitude all the npcs and such are completely scattered. So, How do I get one Npc to walk up to the chopping block and have another cut his head off? Then I'd like this cycle to be continued by some npcs behind him.

  8. Every Time when i install an Mod over the NMM, breaks the Game. I know why and i went to the Folder where the Plugins.txt File is and every Time is Skyrim.esm inside. Does some one know why this keeps happening? It also can be bad for People whos use NMM new. And sorry for my Bad English.

Now I'm well aware that you have to (1) ask a mod author's permission to utilize something from their mod unless otherwise stated to be open source, (2) give explicit credit to that mod author within your own mod's description. So my question is, what if a mod author has been offline/absent from the Nexus website for over 2 or 3 years and has no other listed way to contact them? In this situation, would the logical conclusion be that you cannot use something from that mod author since you are unable to obtain their express permission, even if you were to credit them?
  10. Tips, Tricks and general mod talk to make Skyrim stable on even a low end potato.
  11. First and foremost I want to thank anyone that responds. It is very much appreciated. To make sure I have it right, the left side sliders (low weight) are for the slender, smaller females like Ysolda and the sliders on the right (high weight) are for the bigger body types, more veluptious types like Lydia. Is this correct? Once I finish adjusting the sliders and getting everything the way I want, I make sure the race menu morph option is clicked, click build and then choose save preset and give it a name and save it. When the select groups option pops up I can choose 1 option, all options or any options number in between. Is this correct? And the changes will only affect the options I choose? For example, if I only check the CBBE box the changes will only apply to CBBE based bodies, and will not affect UNP? My next question is about custom follower/companion mods with custom bodies. I generally use CBBE but I have a few UNP. If I choose a UNP option and get it the way I want, then click build and save, when the select groups option pops up, if I choose only UNP will it effect only UNP bodies or will it still change the CBBE presets for everyone? For example Lydia is CBBE option, but I have a follower mod that is UNP. If I just select the UNP option in the group box, will it still effect all or just the UNP bodies? Is there a way to edit a single npc body? For example if I want to just edit Lydia but not the rest of the NPC's. I will use Ysolda as an example. If I want to modify her outfit using outfit studio how would I do that? if I want to edit an outfit mod I downloaded, how would I do that using Outfit Studio? I am a total idiot when it comes to modding, yes I have tried and as a result I have much more respect for modders...lol If someone knows a simple, precise step by step tutorial starting with the basics please let me know. I haven't found one yet. Or if someone can simply list step by step in an answer below I would appreciate it very much. To anyone that responds, thank you.

  13. Ever since the whole paid modding catastrophe happened, I've been thinking of ways in which it could work, and recently, I got an idea. I play skyrim on PC, and as such I mod heavily. I have over 120+ mods such as SkyRe, Apocalypse, Immersive Bloody Everything, all of Gopher's stuff of course, amongst others. Recently, I wanted to pick up playing it again, and opened the mod manager to discover that, as expected, more than half of the 120+ mods had been updated. A lot. SkyRe is now a defunct mod and it scares the living daylights out of me. Knowing that any attempt to try and update this, especially now while my time really needs to be devoted to other things, will cause my game to break and me to have to reinstall all 120+ mods as well as skyrim again SAFELY and methodically in an endeavor that will doubtless take at least a full week of dedicated work, I have realized something: I would pay the game's value again to get these mods bundled into installers. Twelve, for each ten mods, or some such anyway I'm not gonna work out the logistics. I would pay for a premade modpack with an easy install, I would throw money behind it on Patreon, Indie-Go Go or Kickstarter. It seems like a good idea, and I'm sure others have it too, so I would like to generate some buzz for it, maybe get Valve and Bethesda to collaborate again, but properly, this time. It sounds perfect to me, mod for free but have to install each one individually, or pay some money and get it all locked down. Even if you needed multiple packs to create an install like mine, money would drop from me in seconds to save myself an entire week's work of dedicated, "stay cooped up in my room for eight hours a day" work. Thoughts?
  14. Well, just downloaded Blender on Steam in hopes of trying to learn this program again. Do you guys have any tutorial recommendations? Maybe things specific to modding for Skyrim? Specifically, I'd like to start out modeling small stuff like jewelry.
  15. Hello, FabulousBruh here. I am new to this forums page, tho i put in a lot of mods in my skyrim, have been playing the elder scrolls for years. But i am not afraid of non-lore things, but also sometimes i think lore is needed for certain things. I was thinking about this quest mod that someone should make. Like fully voice acted, DLC sized, new map, quest about saving Giants. These Giants are smarter than others, learnt to survive from being hunted down, they have an enemy ho wants to wipe them out, and only the dragonborn will be willing to save them from extinction. I was thinking that also they work with other races, for trading, blacksmithing, potions, and expensive mercenaries. and let's not forget the female giants. we all know that these giants come from somewhere. I am not a modder, but i am good at coming up with ideas and honestly as a long time elderscrolls player, i would like to see giants play there part. P.S. If you are interested, and actually going to make something like this, please send a link to page and i would love to be updated and would love to see development of this.

Hi all, Yes, yes, I know how very tired we all are of another person throwing up a giant list of his/her mods and asking for help in finding why I am CTD after running around in-game for awhile. We all want what we can't have and that is a dreamscape skyrim without flaw, but then again we're living in reality right? First off, here are the facts: 1) I'm using the famous S.T.E.P. Project for skyrim following all its mods except for 2 simple hd texture mods, Telvanni Reborn, and HD guards. 2) I didn't like the climates of tamriel and the vividian enb, so i replaced them with the oh sooooo mouth watering NLA enb, and yes I configured the other mods like vivid clouds to recognize NLA (what do you think I am, a newbie? Well I am! ... sort of). 3) Using MO, LOOT, SKSE, etc, etc. 4) I'm using Shesons memory patch, which helps do wonders, but unfortunately the modding world of skyrim is equivalant to the realm of sheogorath, making it utterly unpredictable and unstable.... sort of like the nuclear reactors in chernobyl. 5) Yes I'm one of those modders who can't live with out a few extra mods (sheesh)! However, I've managed to limit it down to just a handful of mods so as to keep as much compatibility as possible. The extra mods will be listed further down. 6) All my ini's are pristine and the only changes i've done are those in the step wiki and shesons guide. 7) I'm using a clean Skyrim data folder, etc. Idk if they could have gotten corrupted from turning mods on and off repeatedly to test mods, etc. Ok, here it is.. the gigantic terrible intimidating list! My questions, which hopefully some skyrim modding guru out there can answer, are as follows: 1) What's the magic word to make skyrim do whatever I want? jk, for reals this time. 2) I've done so much optimizing, performance tracking, patching, etc. yet skyrim seems really unstable. I do this test where I start off in windhelm then travel around skyrim to different locations via fast travel, wait for a few hours, then travel around again, sometimes I'll walk around and try to force a ctd, which usually happens. Why? 3) I believe these are the reasons why I might be getting ctds, infinite loading screens, and freezing. I am hitting the 3.1 gb skyrim engine limit. Kinda strange tho since I'm only adding a few extra mods on top of the STEP project? Isn't the STEP project supposed to be more stable than this? Along with the ENB and shesons memory patch, I kind of think I have at least a little room left to wiggle my toes.The SR Conflict resolution esp added at the end of the list provided by step is missing some masters etc perhaps? Because I did take off a few mods the guide intended to be there. Mod conflicts? If so I'm really hoping someone out there can point it out or perhaps even the right load order etc.Perhaps something like one of my location mods is corrupting the DYNDLOD? Wipe clean and start fresh? Maybe sheogorath logged on to my pc one day while I was away and FOOKED up my skyrim folder?... bastard. (as much as I dread to dedicate the hundreds of hours to do this all over again I'm still willing to do so)4) My screen resolution is 2560x1440 and the draw distance for everything is maxed, but it barely puts a dent in my memory and cpu usage. I'd like to be able to edit a ceiling while the view is flipped over like I'm looking at the floor, but the only way I know how to do that is by temporarily inverting the camera in preferences, which is a major pain in the neck. Is there a way to set it permanently so an upside down view doesn't invert the controls? Suggestions would be appreciated.

Forbidden lands is going to be a New lands mod, which is going to have a number of quests, dozens of locations to explore, and danger in every step of the way. Why am i creating this mod? Some may ask, "Why am i creating this mod", and im about to tell you exactly why i am doing so. There are hundreds, even thousands of mods for skyrims. Weapons, armour, magic, quests, you name it, theres a mod out there that will give you that extra little bit of fun. Out of all these mods, the amount of mods within the, "New Lands" category is very minimal, and the number of good ones do not fit my tastes. I have decided to begin a project, called "The Forbidden Lands", as i believe that Skyrim needs both New lands, and a new element of danger along the way, How Long is it going to take? I haven't planned out how much time i am going to spend on this project, or give myself an actual deadline, but my estimate is going to be around 4 months. The reason why i am giving myself 4 months in order to make this project is because i want to ensure that the level of detail is high, and i want to make the community as happy as possible. I want to make this mod like no other, and i want every single person that is to have a playthrough, love it no matter what. This may be a tricky task, but i am sure that i will make it eventually! What are the, "Forbidden Lands"? The forbidden lands, are a place of great evil, and danger. The lands themselves, riddled with bandits, feral animals, and possessed souls. The forbidden lands is going to be primarily woodland, meaning that its going to be dark; foggy; and most of all, making it hard to see if you are being followed, or if you are about to be somebodies next meal. I am going to try and make the Forbidden lands as large as possible, but this could take some time, and the bigger i make it, the more detail i will have to put in, which will mean the more time its going to consume. I am going to create detail in the mod; along the way instead of doing it at the very end, meaning that if i do not have time to make the land as big as i originally intended, then atleast i will have a detailed New Land, in which players will be fascinated with. Like no place within Tamriel, the Forbidden lands are said to be a Myth, but you as the dragonborn are about to find out that this place is in fact exists in reality. What is the "Myth" behind the Forbidden lands? The dwemer, when in power had no place in order to detain the people that commited punishable crimes within their lifetimes, as sovngarde would not welcome the people that commited foul deeds within their lifetimes. Crafted, by the dwemer race themselves, was a parellel land known as the Forbidden lands. Story has it, that the dwemer would select people individually, that were the vilest of the vile, and did not deserve to just simply die without a punishment. Although many of these blood stained souls may have been imprisoned within their lifetimes, the Dwemer did not believe that this punishment was cruel enough, and simply forged the Forbidden Lands, in order for these lowlifes to rot, until they would eventually die. Legend has it, that when the forbidden lands was first constructed, people would simply be left to rot, die of disease or simply eat eachother, like cannibals. This eventually adapted the thoughts of some of the people that were individually chosen to live in the Forbidden lands for eternity, and formed a group in which they would enrule the forbidden lands, and simply eat the flesh of those who came after them. It is said, that this group of people, unknown to man, still live within the Forbidden lands today. Sinners are still sent to the Forbidden lands on a daily basis, meaning that the population is slowly increasing, and this will happen for eternity. Your job as the dragonborn is to find out if these myths are true, and risk your wellbeing to venture through this corrupted, parallel wasteland. That is about all of the preparation that i have created for the mod, and i am working on it, and developing it progressively. I in vision this mod to be a success, and i hope that others feel the same. Features that i hope to include within this mod: - A detailed land, that has a relatively large size, so that the player has an opportunity to explore for a number of hours. - More advanced enemies, making it hard to venture around the Forbidden lands safely, and force the player to use the tactic of stealth to get their way around, without being slaughtered. -Atleast 50 different, immense dungeons, mines, forts, etc. for the player to discover, and find loot every step of the way. - Perhaps the feature of including a few sets of new armour into the game, or simply request permission to incorporate others armor mods into the game, to make the experience that much better. - A number of large quests for the player to participate in, to make their experience that bit more enjoyable. That is about all of the prepared ideas/information that i have collected in development for this mod, and the following will display the progression that i have currently made with the mod: I=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=:=I Below you will be shown the progress that has been made so far with the project. Click the "show" buttons beneath each of the dates, to see what was created on that specified day. (Reason why i have done this is to tidy up the thread, too many images. I like to stay neat!) - Created entrance to the Dwemer Labyrinth, which will have to be passed before getting into the Forbidden Lands. This entrance was a glacier cave, that could be located under the bridge leading to the college of Winterhold; a location that is unlikely to be visited by travellers. - The lobby of the Labyrinth was also created. - The lobby of the Labyrinth was detailed slightly more than previously, and i have began work on the labyrinth itself. The labyrinth currently only has the 3 optional passages, 1 of them leading to the exit, and detail has been added to these as well. Enemies will also be introduced soon, and more detail is to come as i don't believe that the Labyrinth itself is as detailed as it should be. - The third passage of the Labyrinth has been created, and some other minor adjustments have been made to the other passages. -I have decided that i am going to be creating a room which will have a couple of dwarven guardians within, and a key which will allow you to unlock the other 2 passages; one of these being the way out. -Have created the passage leading to this room which holds the key, and attempted to create the room itself but the design was terribly small, so i scrapped it and decided to just focus on the passage which is leading to the room which i am yet to create. -Finished detail to the corridor that will be leading to the room where the key will be obtainable. -Added a lot more fog, detail to the main room, and detail to the corridors themselves. -Added a new type of spider (Same model+texture as a standard frostbite spider) with a challenging difficulty. These go by the name of "Deathborn Arachnids". I then went onto creating a boss type of spider, which has the name of Mother "Deathborn Arachnid", and is the same size as a standard frostbite spider, but has a high amount of damage as well as health. - Within the Mother spider, also lies a "Mother Arachnids Heart", which can be sold for a profitable amount of money, due to the fact that these spiders are considered rare. -The Labyrinth itself has been complete. -Enemies have now been fully added, these being a number of Dwarven spiders, Spheres and Centurions. I have renamed all of which, and made them a lot more difficult, so proceeding through the labyrinth alive is going to be quite a challenge. -Completely finished the hall in which the key will be stored. This key will be obtained, and can then be used to the 2 other passages, leading you to the exit of the Labyrinth, and into the Forbidden Lands. -Redone Navmesh as previously it was a bit dodgy, and this is finally complete, and should not be a problem in the future. -Created the room in which holds the portal, that can be used to teleport the player to the Forbidden lands. -Navmesh was edited, to ensure that the player can have a smooth combatic experience with the enemies, without them stopping, glitching into the walls, etc. -Made some minor changes to the design of the Labyrinth itself. -Fixed some issues within the room that holds the key. -The spawn point of the Forbidden lands has been made, and is currently now in development. (THATS RIGHT PEOPLE, THE LANDS THEMSELVES ARE BEING MADE!) -Entrance to the Forbidden lands has been fully designed, and detailed, to make a realistic and lovable environment. -A NPC with the name of, "Jade Hammerfell" is also reasonably close when arriving in the forbidden lands, and can be spoke to, in order to get some more information as to where you are. -The entrance to Flowerville, as well as the guards have been fully constructed, and the guards will have dialogue in the future! -Some of the buildings within Flowerville have been put in place. -Stable within Flowerville has been created. -Minor detail has been added to the village. -Exterior of a cave has been made, and will require a quest to enter. (Will eventually be created.) - Jade Hammerfell was created, as well as the dialogue to go with her. - 1 of the 2 guards outside Flowerville were given dialogue. This voice type will be used for other guards within the mod also, as its the best guard voice i can possibly put on. - Horse Tender has been developed, with a large amount of dialogue. Gives you a bit of information about his life also. - Player home is in development. Seeing as this is one of the few places within the Forbidden lands that is safe, it will require a playerhome. (Lands are awfully dark, torches are going to be needed when playing.) -Villager NPC's have been added. (Around 3) -Beggar NPC has been added. -Inn Worker has been created, and dialogue has been given to him. Quest dialogue has also been recorded, but the quest itself still needs to be developed. -Changes made to the outskirts of the town (Forsworn camp detailed, Forsworn added, Locked gate, etc.) HERE IS THE FINAL RESULT TO THE CONFIGURED LIGHTING.   20. I have tried to use the landscape editor and select a texture with no grass and it paints the ground black and the grass is still there. I am aware about a bug that when placing a new texture it will stay in CK but not in game when you load it up; however the ground is textured black when I use the landscape editor. I am not even sure if this is classed as grass in what I am trying to remove. I want to remove this plant/ grass as I am making a house mod for myself, but the grass at the front I want to remove...   22. Hello, I am experiencing difficulty with Skyrim. I have a great system so that is not the issue. I have a lot of mods installed and I ran BOSS, LOOT and TES5EDIT and everything seems to be fine. However, every time I enter the area of dragon bridge to the solitude gates, or try to fast travel to locatons inside that area, my game freezes or crashes to desktop. I have a list of my mods bellow. Please help, I can't figure out whats wrong. If you need anymore information please message me directions on how to give it to you.   24. Hello, I have ideas on making the Sangheili (Elites) from the Halo franchise playable in Skyrim since nobody has done it yet plus they will not be in Halo Infinite for a while at least. What I have so far is a model with thanks to Zangh productions for letting me use the assets. I also have a few weapon models as well. Now I am new to modding skyrim and still screwing about with the CK and other modeling software like blender.
