  1. The glass armor stands out like a sore thumb and is very cheesy and ugly looking to me. The idea of glass weapons actually kinda makes sense, but glass armor? Its supposed to be light armor but there's nothing about it that that looks light, its literally made from metal and glass, it makes no sense. I would love to see a glass armor replacer that would remove glass armor completely from the game in exchange for a more immersive and better looking light armor. Some options I think could be good replacers: Demon Slayer Armor Mashup Adventurer Armor Illusive Infiltrator Armor Elmlock Armor Thank you in advance if your a mod author and decide to work on this! PS: I play on VR so if it could be compatible with that then I could use it! Also, I can live with stahlrim armor, especially since its too intertwined with the lore and story to replace.
  2. I feel it's time to give the drunken huntsman a proper set of stairs, no more wierd paved ramp thing! This hasn't been done yet as far as I know and I imagine should be pretty simple.
  3. So, is the SKYRIM entry the same 'MOD LIST' as FOR SKYRIM VR? I would just TRY ONE, but when it didn't work, I would not know whether it was not working because I have never Modded before , OR because it is for Skyrim not Skyrim VR (or any of a hundred other reasons I don't know about -until I do... :) I am not even wanting to play as much as simply TRY it, research how to add Mod ability to our upcoming AAA+ Open Alien World VR game. We have Character Animators (myself included ) that worred in Hollywood for 20+ years. I worked at Activision, I most recently worked on Life of Pi, (and then spent the next 5 years working oon our ipcoming title) I had an Animated TV show on Playboy TV as Animation Supervisor... I am trying to bring perfection to the VR world (every item in our games is Grabbable, Functional, Destructable and Flammable (if remotely appropriate), you have a Body, lke in Sansar you can be 3rd person.. etc. Al controls are Real World, etc/ Also, I read this article about how VORTEX is the right software now, NOT Nexus Mod Manager, but when I got throughth te day long install and trying to understand what it was, I came to Nexusmods and right at the top it says to Install NMM!! I can't imagine that's bad advice!! Regardless, I can't get EITHER working, :( This is such an awesome 'Ready Player One' kinda place, I really want to understand and try it out :) Make Modding an option for OUR games, (though we Start and will Release with elaborate, high rez and beautiful Characters!) Is there a DEFINITIVE guide that has updated info and clear steps? THANK YOU!!!
  4. How would I go about making a mod for skyrim VR. I would like to try to make an overhaul of the combat system so if you hit the enemies harder, it does more damage among other things however I can't seem to find how to even begin doing any skyrim vr modding. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. I'm still not clear if FNIS SE can be used as is for SVR. Because I'm not going to buy it, I'm looking for someone to help me figure it out. Most important: what is the name of the exe? SkyrimVR.exe? Next I would like to know if the behaviors or hkx skeletons have changed: - is the "Skyrim - Animations.bsa" the same as for SE? - is there a file like "Skyrim - Patch.bsa" or "Skyrim - Update.bsa" or similar, and does this include any .hkx files?
  6. Hello, I'm having trouble downloading/running skyrim vr mods. I can download the files and everything, but when I try and run the game from the sksevr_loader.exe file it brings up an error message in command prompt that says "Couldn't find Skyrim VR.exe". I looked into it and people have said that I need to put the mod staging folder in the actual game program file. So I looked through my files and theres a couple different flies I tried putting it in, those were: (This PC\New Volume (D:)\Program Files\steamapps\common\SkyrimVR) and (This PC\Local Disk (C:)\Users\(my user name)\Documents\My Games\Skyrim VR). Now, when I try putting the mod staging folder in any of these folders and hit apply in vortex it brings up the error msg "invalid destination: the destination folder has to be empty" I have also tried making a new folder specifically for vortex mod/download files, which it lets me do then, but it still says it can't find the skyrimvr.exe file. If anyone knows how i can fix this it would be very much appreciated. I attatched to image files that show the error message im getting if that helps, but I did cross out my user name just for privacy reasons. Thank you. Regards, Bladeandforcery
  7. Hey guys! Im looking for some help trying to figure out what is crashing my Skyrim VR. Installed around 180 mods and made sure all worked together as well as did cleaning with TESEdit, managed conflicts and making sure any patch needed were there and all dependencies. I am using LOOT, TexGen, zMerge, TESedit, Nemesis and bodyslide and all seems to be fine there. I did turn on autosave on load but I dont think that would cause a crash although it does feel like it's happening just as Im about to spawn in the CELL. Here is my crashlog, if anyone can take a look and let me know if they see something out of place. Let me know! Thanks Crashlog: Skyrim VR Crashlog - Pastebin.com
  8. Afternoon all A great mod idea, linking the motion in skyrim VR to a cycling smart trainer usually used for Zwift/ Virzoom. The end goal would be to just be running through Skyrim and getting a workout. You could stop for combat, but its mainly exploration. Potentially also linking it to Strava to count the miles.
  9. Hello, I have just recently (couple of months) began to attempt to mod Skyrim SE VR. I have never played the game and am very excited to begin(The environment is amazing in VR!!). That being said, I have run into a 'deal breaker' problem that is not allowing me to continue. I began a new game and played until I reached Riverwood. At that point I made some save games and a resolution that I would not leave the town of Riverwood until I had all mods configured and was ready to continue on with an epic journey of Skyrim. I have now been in Riverwood for OVER A MONTH, learning, downloading, configuring, etc... I am fairly happy with the state of the mod setup I have built up and am ready to head out into the world of Skyrim. My intention was to get all of the mods setup, then do some last configuration to the ini files to get my performance levels acceptable in VR. However I have run into a problem with the shadows on Trees and on Grasses. I CANNOT turn them off! and they seem to be draining my fps. Problem: Shadows on Trees or Grass will not turn off regardless of settings in the ini files. Setup: Steam version Skyrim SE VR installed on D:\ MO2 installed on D:\, using a portable instance of MO2 skyrimvr.ini file attached to post skyrimprefs.ini file attached to post please ask if any other info would be useful What I have tried: I have tried these lines under [Display] in both skyrimprefs.ini and/or skyrimvr.ini. Not sure which file they belong in. I find conflicting information around the internet. I have tried in Either/Both, each has no effect. [Display] "bTreesReceiveShadows=0" "bShadowsOnGrass=0" I believe that I am editing the proper ini files because if I make other changes to say shadow resolution "iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=2048" for example, the changes are visible in game.. I have validated files with Steam. I have looked through all of my loaded mods to try do decipher whether one of them is enforcing a change to shadow settings. I couldn't find anything. (but that means little. I could have easily missed something obvious) I have tried disabling most all mods to see if I could get shadows turned off with mods disabled. This made no difference. If anyone has any useful knowledge to share on this issue, I would be greatly appreciative for the help. Thank You! Edit: attached Loot load order
  10. I don't know if this has been mentioned here all ready, but I could not find any thing on this topic. I just started playing Skyrim VR and noticed how small and disproportionate the characters heads are. When I went to install my mods I thought I'd check and see if there was a fix for this, but could not find one. I was wondering if this is even possible to fix if it has not been done all ready.
  11. Hey all! I hope this is the right place to post this, I am usually pretty good at trouble shooting and getting mods to work but I have a few that are just flat out stumping me. I am using skyrim VR, I have followed all of the instructions to install the latest version of SKSE for skyrim VR but I cannot for the life of me get VR body to work.... I don't have the alteration spell in my inventory like the mod describes and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod turning off other mods that may conflict but no luck. Also having issues with these 2 Epic elves ( I think it has something to do with the version of skse and the version of racemenu that is available for skyrim vr) The shire SE - This one I am so lost on, it doesnt require skse , but when I reach the quest start point there is nothing there, I have no other mods that conflict with this one I am at my wits end! :( does it just NOT work with VR? any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you -Chase
  12. Using Creation Kit and loading my first several .esms, I find that the correct ids for the 3 words of the Bend Will shout (listed by CK as DLC2 Bend Will, iirc) are (in sequence) 040179D9, 040179DA, 040179DB. The shout itself appears to have id 040179D8. 04 sounds about right, since my Dragonborn DLC is in 5th place per Vortex (I assume counting starts at 0). I am testing the console functions teachword, unlockword, addshout and equipshout. They seem to work for most shouts (those that are in the base game and start with 00, that is). But when I have to prefix the 04 (as indicated by CK) these commands fail. I get the message "Object ID XXXX not recognised as word of power" or some text to that effect, so I can't even teachword the individual words. It occurred to me that I'm actually running SkyrimVR, which is usually-but-not-quite-always the same as SE, and was wondering if anyone knew of any different rules for word-of-power IDs for VR. I have been loading only the first 6 or so .esms. If I load too many, CK crashes. CK also hangs on exit every time, but that doesn't really trouble me as I am only using it (so far) for poking around in internals like object names and IDs. I notice that the .esm load order as shown in CK disagrees with what Vortex tells me. For some reason it puts (thinks) Lanterns of Skyrim and Realistic Water Two, I think, ahead of Unofficial Patch; whereas Vortex thinks the Patch comes first. Should I be concerned? Is this a bad sign? Anyway, it's been frustrating me for several days, this inability to do anything with shout components or whole shouts that are found in DLCs, even though the shout processing commands work just great for base-game shouts like Whirlwind Sprint and Unrelenting Force. If anyone knows where I'm going wrong, a clue would be most welcome.
  13. It would be amazing if Skryim VR was split off into it's own game so you didn't have to do hours of research and extra work to figure out what mods will work for Skyrim VR, or if mods that did had some kind of filter. If something like this already exists please tell me :)
  14. The idea is simple but I have no clue if its doable or not. Basically, a follower that uses cleverbot and voice recognition like dsn so you can talk to him about pretty much anything. Maybe you could start the discussion in the settings with something like, do you want to role play, we are in mediaval times and your name is (follower name), my name is (players name). Ok so by now you probly figured out I'm way out of my league because none of this seems doable but gold help me if I could have a follower with that kind of ai + voice recognition so I can have a seemingly real friend while I'm exploring the land of skyrim. That would be a dream come true. No but seriously, this post is more about realising that the day when we have ai's that seem human in our own virtual worlds is coming near. Get excited people!, the matrix is coming. *cough* madara *cough* . . . no ones gonna get that reference but I love being cryptic.
  15. I'm not very experienced with modding Skyrim, let alone a VR game. However, I want to enjoy a modded experience of Skyrim VR and I have been running into issue after issue. All of them except for this one I have been able to find elsewhere and solve, but I couldn't find anyone with this exact same issue as well as a solution for it, so I figured I would try asking here. To start with, I reach Helgen Keep and get my first gear of the game. I open my inventory, equip it all. If I open my inventory again, it doesn't load and I see a floating iron sword and that's it. If I press down on the right stick (I don't know exactly what the button map does) to zoom in on the weapon, then press back twice it just closes everything and the game plays like normal. That is, until I open my inventory again. Same thing, every time. Map, spells, all of that work fine. The inventory is the only thing I have had issues with. I haven't tried progressing because of this. I did figure out that by removing the inventory menu file for SkyUI would fix the issue, it would just give me the SkyUI error and use the default Skyrim inventory, but the inventory would function as normal. I can provide pictures if needed, I just haven't gone through the effort of taking a SS in VR. My load order (I can provide more details about versions if need be): https://modwat.ch/u/GlitchFerLife/plugins I have tried to reinstall SkyUI and SKSEVR, as well as messing around with mods I thought could be causing the issue which is where I found the inventory menu thing I stated above. What's probably worth mentioning, is everything ran fine a week ago. Now, I never opened my inventory more than once so I don't know if it actually had the issue as well or not. I progressed a little before taking a break and then finishing another game in the meantime since troubleshooting this game had left me frustrated. Afterwards, before I found the issue, I installed both SkyAI and OddsAndEnds as well as their requirements, went through the scripting in SSEedit, all that before playing the game again. That's when I noticed the issue. Edit: Forgot to mention, I am using Mod Organizer 2. Using LOOT in there only tells me Skyrim VR is up to date and SKSEVR is up to date. My specs in case relevant: Windows 10 Home 1660 Super Ryzen 7 3700X 32GB 3200 ram 1TB SSD with still half unused
  16. So I was trying to download mods on skyrim vr and I downloaded skse and nexus and downloaded the weapon throw mod and the Skyrim VR Configuration Tool I put them in nexus and enabled it. Then, I launched skyrim vr from nexus and when I did it said there was a mod running. yet when I opened then game there was nothing changed. Con someone who is knowledgeable about this kinda stuff help me?
  17. So i have a relatively light loadup, but whenever the game has to load a chunk of terrain outside (example when i cross the small bridge near windhelm and it loads the waterfall and mountains) the game crashes. 18. Greetings all. Hope this is ok here as there doesn't seem to be a dedicated troubleshooting area for Skyrim VR. I have played modded Skyrim for years, (LE then SE) and never had to resort to asking the community for help with Mod issues before but this one has me (almost) stumped. Just got myself an Oculus Rift S so of course had to play Skyrim VR, for the most part all mods seem to be working fine, except the two follower mods I always use in my playthroughs, Sofia the funny voiced follower and Recorder the fully voiced follower, the followers simply don't show up, no Recorder at the Sleeping Giant or Sofia at Whiterun stables. I've googled my arse off trying to find anything / anyone with a similar issue or something that would exlplain why to no avail. I'm using Nexus Mod Manager, I know the community generally prefers Vortex or MO2 but I find NMM so much easier though I wonder if this may be the reason because I had to 'pretend' Skyrim VR is Skyrim SE to install non VR specific mods (and yes ALL mods are definatly for SSE or VR... I already made that mistake once when first modding SSE lol) Also, I was originally using the customisers for both but unistalled them to see if that was the issue but it was not, also tried manual install both for BSA's and loose files. I even did a full wipe and reinstall of both Skyrim VR and NMM, including the virtual install. Anyway heres the Mod list (small as I've just started with what I consider my essential mods it was when testing they were working I realised the Follower mods were not). 19. Hello! My Skyrim VR does something weird when I try to marry someone. It will let me go through with the wedding, but when I get to the part where I say that I will marry them, the sound cuts out. The game does give me the wedding band and completes the quest, but the person I married won't talk to me. Also, I am unable to talk to anyone. If I leave the chapel or "wait", the screen turns black and never loads. The first few times I did it, the clothing kept glitching on my followers who attended the wedding, so I disabled outfit management which stopped the glitching. But, it didn't stop the other issues. I've tried loading to multiple places, adjusting various settings in my mods, and disabling some mods. I also installed and used LOOT to sort my mods. I've had no issues with anything else in the game. If it helps, I'm mostly trying to marry Marcurio. 20. Okay one of the most impressive aspects of VR in general is scale. From impossibly small objects (if you've played a fishermans tale), And with skyrim; you can play with player height setting. If you havnt tried changing your player height to be of a different scale that you normally have to the rest of the world, it's pretty wild. With the idea of scale in mind, having a giant horse woman that I can ride around and swing a sword from is on a further echelon of scale still I think. Im thinking of it like this, (Psst.....by the way I have no knowledge of what Im doing or how these things work but I'm interested in learning very specific things that could help me do this) Can you change the model, body texture mapping, walking animation, every other animation (me personally I have no scope of that), of a woman NPC built as a follower addon, to be that of a Centaur? Could you ride that NPC using the same mechanics that horses use? Im going to try to take some stabs as to how I THINK these things would work. (All of you that want to tell me how wrong I am, please do. Im sure it will help me? If nothing else your replies of telling me Im wrong will make my thread more popular. Someone might see it.) So first, how do you ride them? I think there's a console command to "mount" any NPC (or actor ID at all?????) If you can do that, I imagine it just needs to be a rigged model, or at least the mechanic for "ride teh horse" looks for an attachment point on the actor. So can you just make that information on the Follower NPC? Then it just comes to animation. And not just as in its undervalued, but I just mean its straight forward (maybe?) Changing the body mesh I imagine is quasi-easy? I've downloaded a ton of skyrim body mods, never made one. But it looks like body meshes, bone structures, how ever body/bone physics works, and a couple of XML type files to set the parameters of that body. Then put some skin and a texture mapping together? Is that everything? Animations Im sure will be the most struggle. I for one have very, verrry limited animation experience. But Im thinking, horse ðŽ , A) its animations are for the most part, IN the game. I imagine there's some game modding method that could let you take the animation function values and move them onto the same model that's been pasted below a human. and B. I know you all know how to animate a horse. I know there's dedicated mods to overhauling the entire horse system. There's definitely talent with horse leg parambalation. Oh for the record, I have never tried to ride a horse in this VR game. Im not even sure if you can. YET>>>>> CAN I GET A NEW NAUSEATING NEW VR HORSE RIDING GAME? After typing all of this out, my next time playing, Ill try to ride from whiterun to the college of winterhold. I just got a new armor for Lydia and a follower overhaul. Ill take a cross country trip on horseback with my new favorite follower for "old time sake". I'll come back and let you all know if this game has the legs ð´ I read the stickies that said this board is for creative space so hopefully this idea is met with creative minds. Like me apparently! No, I don't want to flock a horse. Sorry if this joke is against board rules, hopefully if it is it will make the mods laugh enough that they just edit it off and let me live. But it had to be said. ð
  21. I see the obsidian logo, then a loading screen with a 3D model but after that all i get is a black screen. I can hear and move around but that's about it. The game works fine unmodded. my vortex menu isn't giving me any error messages either.
  22. I have already been using Vortex on my PC for Skyrim SE. I am now installing Skyrim VR, and a lot of the mods that I want to install are already downloaded to the Skyrim SE folder. In Vortex, most of the mods that I already downloaded are not showing up in the Downloads, so I can't install them. Do I need to redownload them in order to get them to show up for Skyrim VR, or is there a way to force them to show up? Also, I have not had a single mod that that has installed for VR without having to click the button on the dialog telling me that the mod was not created for this game. Is there a way to skip that?
