  1. Oblivion had no charging and it was fun to use magic, one click fire. I get to GOG Skyrim AE. Now, most staffs and spells are worthless. I'm constantly getting killed by this lame function. It is throws off my combat timing. I just skip the spells or pawn any staffs that aren't one-click fire. Shouts are handy, one-click fire with recharge delay. Constant fire with element magic works well. I found three mods they do some but not all objects, small delay, and/or or simple to use: Fast Casting-20599-1-0-1539660458.7z Smart Cast-43123-1-0.7z Smart Cast SSE Patch-32847-1-0-1582183378.7z SpeedCastingRemake-36574-1-0-1590627996.7z The unofficial mods patch should make it simple, one-click turn off in the configure menu turns on one-click fire in the whole game. Another coder could do this with a separate mod. This is spoiling the skyrim experience... :sad: Thanks.
  2. I have looked at many magic mods and perk overhauls and I don't think that there is anything like this yet. My idea is to add a few simple perks that make equipping a staff worthwhile. Nothing super crazy, but something like a perk that passively increases spell damage while wielding a staff, so that wielding a staff is actually useful compared to dual casting. Also, maybe a perk that adds a lesser version of the impact perk while wielding a staff. Something like providing a 25% chance or something for spells to stagger when wielding a staff.
  3. If you used reanimation staffs in the vanilla game, you'll notice that, unlike reanimation spells, those reanimated by staffs do not turn into ash upon death (again). This made the Ebony Blade quest a lot easier. However, more recent versions of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch cause those reanimated by staffs to turn into ash. Could someone undo this "fix"?
  4. So I was playing Blacks Ops Zombies on the Origins map, and I though, "How cool would it be to have these staffs in Skyrim?" So that is my Request. Make the Zombies Origins Elemental Staffs in Skyrim! A few Ideas: The Fire Staff would shoot a fire ball (three in three directions if possible) The Air Staff would use a version of the Fus Ro Dah Shout The Thunder Staff would use a lighting spell (I can't think of a spell by name) The Ice staff would use a version of the Ice shout These are of course just some ideas I had
  5. Hi, I'm new to modelling and I'm using Blender version 2.49b. I have made my first mesh for Skyrim, which is a Staff. Problem is, I have no idea how to export it. I've said it is a weapon, but I can't find a weapon body part suitable for it as the staff disappears when sheathed (this happens for every staff, I've observed). Also, the exporting options are so full of jargon that I have no idea which options I need enabled. So in short: When exporting a mesh for a staff for Skyrim, what do I need selected to export it properly (using Blender 2.49b)? Thanks for any help :D PS: ALSO, when making something like a sword, does the size of the mesh matter? I don't really want to keep editing existing sword .nifs so I can use a size reference ^-^'
  6. Ok, I imagine it's been asked but I honestly couldn't find anything searching for staff animations other than mods I already have. So, I'm using immersive animations and yy mystic knight in that order with dual sheath redux and yy zweihander animation. Now the issue is I have is with staffs on my back. I can draw greatswords but staffs still just magicly ;) appear in my hand. I don't reach back to get it or to put it back as I do with the greatsword. Now I've googled what animation is used for staffs and came up with nothing (I assume that's because it's only via dual sheath redux that I can do it and there is no staff specific draw/sheath animation to edit) is there no staff draw/sheath animation at all or is this an issue on my end? Also I'm pretty sure it's not but is it possible to use the mystic knight draw/sheath animation for the sword on hip and the sword and back one as well? i.e have it so dual swords go on back but single ones go on the hips or maybe left hand gets sheathed/drawn from the back and right gets the mystic knight version? I looked through the options in immersive animations and they seem close (1 sword on back one not but I'm not sure if thats just with sword/dagger) but I'm not sure if it would work. Sorry if this is a daft or over asked question btw, any help would be much appreciated however.
  7. I think it would be a cool idea to make a mod where you make your own staff with any specific spell. You can somehow acquire "empty" staffs, then be able to take the staffs to an enchanting table, (whether it's a specific one, or any in the game), and enchant a spell onto it. You could make a staff of Invisibility, a staff of Dragonhide, a staff of Blizzard or Lightning Storm, ect. ect. Using a larger gem would have the same effect as a typical enchanted weapon. I've done very very little coding with games, but I get the feeling it isn't something entirely difficult to create. it would open up the ability to cast expensive spells without using up magicka when you need it, and it would also let you use 2 handed spells like Storm Thrall and Mass Paralysis with another weapon in the other hand. I think its a creative idea, and it would be fun finding the right model staff for the spell you have in mind. Its also a lore friendly mod, and It wouldn't be all that ridiculous. Thanks for reading, and I hope some ambitious modder out there takes this one into consideration. :D

I have no modding experience or capability, but i would love to see a mod that changes the way staffs work in game by taking off the CHARGE feature, and instead the staff would simply modify spells to cause more damage and draw on magicka. In lore, staffs typically weren't the source of the magic, they were tools used to better implement it. a mod like this would add immersion and create a NON-OVERPOWERED use for the staffs, as the vanilla staffs seem to be totally useless.
  9. Can anyone make a mod that: 1. Replaces Staffs with Musical Instruments ex. Grand Lute of Repulsion, Flute of Mending, etc. 2. Has Playing Animation 3. Has Sound/Music...just something like, a music plays everytime you cast the weapon. I really think that would suffice. I'd really love playing as a MAGE-BARD. 4. To live out with the lore, the dovahkiin must be a member of the bards guild to have access/acquire/use the said staff/Instrument or must complete certain quest from the bards guild. A not so complicated Mod and an enjoyable one. Thanks lots.
  10. I would like to be able to hit with staffs like it was in Morrowind. You can also add some wands, rods or something like that, if you want. In case you know mod that add same things, I would be pleased, if you give me the link, but I could not find similar mod.
