  1. alright, so i've used tes5edit before with no issues, but i recently bought the rest of the skyrim dlcs with some christmas money and wanted to go ahead and clean the masters beforehand. i follow gopher's guide exactly, but keep running into the same error. i clean the master, go to close tes5edit to save it, and it says it failed to rename the esm file. im using mod organizer, so the cleaned master gets put in the overwrite folder. i read somewhere that someone just renamed that one and put it back in their skyrim data folder, but tes5edit doesn't recognize it once you do so i'm not sure if the game will either. everywhere i read said that this is most likely a permissions error, but i've tried everything i could think of. running tes5edit as admin, going to the skyrim folders properties and turning on all permissions for myself, etc. my skyrim folder is on another drive, and not under program files. everytime i clean a master and it fails to rename it, i have to verify the integrity of game files via steam to get the .esm file back because its gone. this isn't game breaking, but i'd really like to get rid of the unnecessary scripts and stuff added by the unclean masters.
  2. Basically I want to edit a bunch of hair mods so hairstyles can be used for both genders, but editing one at a time would take a ridiculously long time. I know of Automation Tools, can it be used to edit all the hairs at once? How would I go about doing it?
  3. How goes, eh? I have a really frustrating issue and was wondering what kind of help or suggestions you folks had, since you're probably a lot more seasoned in modding than I am. Here's the breadown: I use Mod Organizer to help with all mods, a few are from the Steam Workshop but nothing as far as I can tell that's a problem, since they melded in just fine. They've been mixed in with my Nexus mods about 20% out of 80% of my total mods, but they haven't caused any issue because this came from the Nexus only just recently whereas the Workshop mods have been there since two years ago. I run LOOT for most of my mods, clean then in TES5Edit if they need it, sort my plugins with each install, update them if they need it unless the update reqs dlc files, and then run the game as per usual without problems. I play the game, all is and has been well til recently within a month or so. I play now, I'll try to pull the magic/spells menu up but it CTD's. I don't use spells often but the ones I do use are healing, fire, lycanthropy related. I'd like to check character effects and such, but it's frustrating because after double checking all my mods, nothing seems to square up about which one is causing the issue. I start a new game with no mods installed, still crashes at the same menu, LOOT doesn't say anything as a warning of what's conflicting. At max, I run about 100 or so mods, no other issues have gone on from that and I don't and can't use any mods that require dlc masterfiles. Compatibility is perfect besides this issue, since I'm sure this issue is probably either that or some kind of corruption. The last time this happened, the CTD stopped at some point, and I don't remember if it was something I removed or did to help it any. This is about the second time this has happened in about a year, but it happened so long ago that I forgot how to fix it simply without needing to make a clean save or fresh install with no mods in the files. It's a wonky idea to have to remove all the 120 some mods I have and then set them back in, but solution's a solution I guess. I went as much as switching some of the Workshop mods over to their Nexus counterparts, though I don't know if I needed to remove any deep files or anything in the game folder to refresh it, but I only did that AFTER this whole thing. I've done a ton of homework on youtube and forum posts that date out to about 2013 or 2014 even, still not sure how to solve it or if a whole lot of people had this come up through poor modding orders and such. Most people crashed from too many items in game, too many spell mods, etc. I don't have either, but I have 15 player homes and all of 4 magic mods, all for food and recipes and what not. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I'm doing/not doing properly? I don't have a whole lot of experience in modding but I know basics and enough to make sure they all jive together right and healthy, so that's about it. I'd appreciate any word on it, if you've dealt with the same thing and can offer some advice?
  4. Hello folks. I hope someone is able to help me here. I wanted to clean my mods recently so installed TES5Edit into my Skyrim folder and configured it to run through NMM. Upon launching the programme however, I am faced with the following messages: Note: Active plugin List contains nonexisting file "Dawnguard.esm" Note: Active plugin List contains nonexisting file "Update.esm" I have checked and both of these .esm file are active in NMM via the plugin tab and I have also checked that they are both listed in the Plugins.txt file so surely TES5Edit should be reading them as active? It's bugging the heck out of me and I even went as far as to uninstall Skyrim and purge every Skyrim related file from my PC and reinstall from scratch. Here's a screen shot for clarity and thanks in advance for any advice you can offer on this.

Also, it's important that the perk applies only to the bleed damage and does not block other types of damage. I just really want to make this effect work since I want bleed damage to be an integral part of some weapons damage output.
  6. If anyone can help with this, I am using TES5Edit, but I clicked something in some menu accidentally and now I cannot see any fields in the right pane no matter what I do.
  7. Soooo i had a ctd when i was entering The Bannered mare. I looked in tes5edit what mods does change anything in it. I've found that Finnia.esp uses it, but i might not use it(follower is not there), i fought if deleting it will crash my skyrim i will simply reinstall mod and everything will be ok, soo it wasnt. Also i've found that sounds of skyrim-civilization have a strange value of water level, i've changed it to 0 just like every other mod which uses bannered mare has it set. The results are on screenshot, reinstalling these mods didnt help. Is there any possibility to repair it, or i have to reinstall skyrim?
  8. I try to cean the materfiles, installed TES5edit into the SSE directory and executed it - getting the message "fatal error - skyrim.ini" as well as other files are not found by the programme. What do I do wrong?? Thx for any answer...

So I'm not a "noob" at modding,but the thing is,most of the stuff I did related to modding always involved a 3rd party tool,and just recently,I got MO because my friends told me its way better (And I can agree to an extent). So,of course,I reinstalled Skyrim and all my mods,and I also installed TES5Edit just to go with it,and it made me wonder,should I clean dirty edits? I'm really not sure what would that do,but I want to know if its worth it. Sorry if there's a lot of useless info here,just wanted to "introduce" myself,since this is my first post here. TL;DR: What benefits do I get by cleaning dirty edits and is it worth it. Edit: Also,navmeshes. Is it worth to clean those?   10. So, this is just a rant topic but I think its one every modder--regardless of scope--can relate too. For the last few hours I've been sifting through TES5edit and changing the dialogue of one of my mods to match the Khajiit speak mod, ya know since there was no patch for it? Anyway, editing Dialoge, while probably one of the easiest things to do, is incredibly tedious. Line after line I clicked, altered, changed, rinsed and repeated until I got tired. Because, you know, people need to sleep and its late. i think I was working on a Master file the entire time instead of the ESP, so when I clicked exit and save...   11. Hello: The author of this mod has shut down his comment page due to unwanted comments towards his mod ... I just like to thank Sharlikran for his work with this program. I have always created mods but, recently have stepped it up quite a bit. With the release of Fallout 4's new Creation Kit I may be moving on from modding Skyrim. Before I go I wanted to finish up a few projects that I have had floating around for years. One includes a random generated dungeon. I have gone into the kit deeper then I ever have and really started to play with the "switches". Pushing what can be done in the kit I have come to one very absolute understanding. To mod Skyrim without TES5Edit at the deepest levels would be madness. The Program/Tool is invaluable, so again I'd like to thank Sharlikran for his work!
  12. Recently installed a whole lot of new mods. Ran LOOT to sort the load order for my plugins as usual After sorting the plugins LOOT reported a number of plugins as having ITM's and deleted references (official DLC's and a number of mods). One of the mods with dirty edits LOOT showed as per following: "Dragon Falls Manor.esp 197A15AB" Contains 63 ITM records and 19 deleted references. Clean withTES5Edit. A cleaning guide is available here. Opened TES5Edit deselected all, then clicked "Dragon Falls Manor" loads: [00] Skyrim.esm [00] Skyrim.exe [01] Dragon Falls Manor.esp I select Dragon Falls Manor - select "Apply Filter for Cleaning" After filtering is finished I select "Remove 'Identical to Master' Records" Hers is where I have a problem at the completion of removing ITM's TES5Edit reports it has removed 807 ITM's, given that LOOT says the plugin only has 63 where have the other 700 odd come from? Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. I dont care if i use Tes5Edit or CK as long as i can use both without problem, i can use them without depending on a master except vanilla game + all DLC. I want it to be compatible with: -USLEEP -Weapon and armor fixes -Enchantment bug fix -Crash fixes -Bug fixes -SkyUI and SKSE (not sure if it is possible to conflict with it, not sure if SE will require them). -Cutting room floor -RaceMenu -CCOR -Clothing and clutter fixes -Alternative start, live another life By compatible i mean no conflicts that will make it unplayable or ruin their bug fixing or content adding features. I have no gripes about for example altering recipes in CCOR as long CCOR works as it should otherwise. Onto the issue. I need to know: -What plugins do i load when i open CK. Just Skyrim or Skyrim + DLC or Skyrim + DLC + Mods listed above? -Any way i can have the "yes to all" when errors pop up on CK? I see no such button and wonder if there is a hotkey for it. -How do i make an esp. where i can make my changes without affecting original Skyrim esp and esm? -Any good and updated/still relevant guides on perk changes? -Any way i can alter so daggers, swords and two handers go under one handed and rename it "blade" and make axes, maces and warhammers go under two handed and rename it "blunt". For example using any axe will level two handed now named blunt and increase damage with one handed maces and warhammers alos. If this cant be done making perk changes will be pointless. If the latter is possible i would like it if i could get detailed instructions on how to make a new esp. in which i make the skill changes. I know i am asking a lot, but i prefer to know what im doing at the start and hope that examples provided will help me do more in the future. If i got to know how to make blunt category i am sure i can figure out how to make blade skill as well as new perks just fine as long as i got a good perk guide.

  15. Hi there, I want to wear several items together, which are currently not compatible to each other. After a short while I heard about the option to change an items behavior in the "TES5Edit". [A Big Thanks to "darstyler" at this point!] In this particular case I wish to: - Remove the circlet slot from every hood in the game - set the tribunal mask to use slot 44 - set all dragon priest masks to use slot 52 Could anyone explain to me, step-by-step, how I would do that?   18. Recently, I used TES5Edit to clean up some ITMs and deleted references from my Update file (yeah), to see if I could stop some crashes that were happening in my game. I found that this didn't fix it, and I later found that the cause of these CTDs were my headtracking mod. When I went back into my game, after I fixed the CTD problem, I found that I could not shield bash at all, even though enemies could. I still could bow bash though. I tried re-verifying my game files through steam, and it said that 2 files failed to respond and would be fixed. This caused my Update.esm to once again show that it contained ITMs and deleted references through LOOT (the same amount as before). I instead didn't clean them, and went back to my game. I still could not shieldbash though. Any help? One thing I've noticed, is that there isn't much in the way of nice, easy to understand, and commented scripts for FO4Edit, which presents quite a big wall to lads who've never touched Pascal before. So what I've decided to do, is go through all of my scripts and add comments to them. So far, I've done four or five, and I'd like ta get the opinions of people who have never touched the stuff before. Some proper opinions 'n' criticism 'n' such. A super small & simple script with comments can be seen 'ere. And a relatively complex one here. Some feedback on stuff that still confuses ya 'n' such would be most welcome.

Guilty Crown Inori by POPPY into "Clothes". I am using Tes5Edit to create some missing Temper and Recipe. [ Look at the Attach file ]. However, I believe I make it wrong becuase when I looked "Skyrim.esm", I cannot find any cloth but armor and weapons. Also, I am not sure how to make enchant on the clothes. Anyone know how to make it correct ? -------- Edit: Add more infomation below. I want to make Inori Cloth as "Robes" ---------
  21. I keep having a strange error while creating custom patches using TES5Edit. When I use the 'copy as override into..' or 'deep copy as override into..' functions and select 'new file' as the plugin to copy into, I while sometimes get an error about mapping a formid. It then simply won't perform the copy but will create the plugin; if I then simply repeat the function except select the newly created plugin rather than 'new file' it will perform the override seemingly without any problems but this nevertheless seems worth asking about.   22. Hello all. I have a question about conflict resolution in TES5Edit that I can't seem to find an answer for across the Internets, despite my best Google-Fu. My question is this - what makes a critical conflict (red text, fuchsia background) critical as far as TES5Edit is concerned? For example, I load up TES5Edit on my full load order and do an Apply Filter to show Conflict Losers. I see around 15 mods in the list (about 1/2 patches) that are marked as critical conflicts, but I don't really see why that would be. Should critical conflicts always be fixed? I found more than a few instances where the winner had values that seemed reasonable to keep in place. Just trying to understand the nuances of the tool so I can use it appropriately. I've read the TES5Edit manual a couple times over the last two days along with numerous searches to try to track it down, but I didn't find really any explanation on critical conflicts. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
  23. So, I have 182 mods installed with MO and a lot of these mods are overwritten and or are overwriting. I installed SKSE just how Gopher said to no SKSE is not getting overwritten like he said it can't. The glitch is that when I start a new game and I run to the Helgen keep with Raloff I'm stuck in the running animation, some people might have heard of this or experienced it if so please help. I put MO in the following folder E:\program files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer like gopher said to. THE BIG PROBLEM: why I'm asking this in the first place is because when I load TES5edit it only shows the skyrim.esm update.esm the DLCs the High res texture packs, and my steam mods :( It isn't showing any of my Mod Organizer mods :( That is the big problem.

Is it safe? Should I clean them? (Probably relevant: I basically use the procedure as outlined in Gopher's video, so if I that's not the right way to do it, I also need help with that.)
  25. Every time I try loading a file in TES5Edit, it fails. Once I take a look in the log, there's an error that states Dragonborn.esm must be placed after Update.esm. I wasn't getting this error just the other day. Is there any way to fix this? Do I need to reinstall TES5Edit Not really sure what to do at this point. Any help would be appreciated.
