  1. This March, South of the Sea was updated with our Styx version 0.60. To push this mod above and beyond limits and expectations, we want to bring you onto the SotS team. If this is your first time hearing about SotS: About:SOTS is a large mod created by a handful of people seeking to make the Glowing Sea great. So far this mod consists of new points of interest to explore and find lots of loot and things to do. The new content we are aiming to add to this larger mod are: New Dungeons and Locations, New Quests and a Main Quest, A New Companion, A Wolf Companion, a New Faction, A huge new City, New underground settlement, some new Items with or without new meshes, Roughly 20ish hours of new gameplay, almost DLC sized. This mod is still in production, however everything we release is 100% content complete and ready to play, and we have finished a good chunk of it, about barely 1/3rd of what we want; this is because the mod is growing out of two other mods: Ad Mortem and Glowing Sea: Expanded. We will update this mod regularly with additional content as we finish major sections. Though we won't be 100% done anytime soon, we will be done when it is done! I’m starting a project, similar to Enderal however not on such a large scale, and for the time being I need writers. -For those of you not familiar with the Knights of the Old Republic franchise, in 2003 BioWare (developers of such series as Mass Effect and Dragon Age), released Knights of the Old Republic (or Kotor) a Star Wars Role Playing Game. It is set 4000 years before the Original Trilogy and has its own unique and immersive plot as wells as dozens of interesting Characters and two different endings (Lightside/Darkside). In 2005 Obsidian Entertainment released the second installment of the series “Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords” which, while in some cases was inferior to its predecessor, was a step in the right direction and was a wonderful game. Later, in 2011, Star Wars the Old Republic (a Star Wars MMORPG taking place about 200 years after Kotor) was released and was a in many ways a disappointment although with later expansions the story vastly improved. However with Disney decanonizing the entire Star Wars EU (now dubbed Star Wars Legends) it is very unlikely that we’ll get a third Kotor game. Except that doesn’t mean we can’t get a good Star Wars RPG.- If you skipped the history lesson above I’ll fill you in. I really like Kotor. It sucks that we ain’t getting another one, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get another Star Wars RPG. Skyrim has a very good RPG Engine and with mods such as Star Wars; Blasters, Races, Trooper Armor, etc as well as Magicka Sabers one would have the means to create such an RPG. Of course all of this is just Theory, which is why I need writers above anything else at the moment. If you are (for example) a good coder or a model builder, GREAT, talk to me later though. I figured this would be more doable if it were broken down into specific steps. For example right now I need writers, next I’ll need concept artists then 3D Modelers and Texturers (not a word). Frankly I don’t even want to touch the Creation Kit until the first stages are complete. So if you’re a writer PM me and we can discuss things further. And make sure you can work with others, if no one can agree to work as a team then the project is doomed from the start. I think we can really do something great here.

Here is a short preview of the history of the island we are working on: From the time of dawn, elves and men fought for this land but none of them could have it whole. The men took over the north of the island called it Jorn’s fall as tribute for their leader, while the elves took the west-south. In order to fend off the men, the elves casted a spell of mist and snow on their land making it unbearable for men to fight let alone venture in such climates. What the elves didn’t know is that the spell caused their land to drift apart from the land of men. The elves wasn’t ready for the cold and icy land that they were now on, and so they began to perish one by one from diseases, hunger and wild animals. Ages later all that have remained of the elves were the dead remains left to protect their ancestor’s home. Every wonderer who tried setting foot on this accursed island was trapped in there never to be seen and so the island earned its name “durgol” or “the cursed land”. Short after the elves were gone men came and tried to inhibit the land of elves, but couldn’t succeed due to the harsh climates and so they named it “Sigrid’s Forst” or “Frost’s victory”. Although the battle is long gone the curse still rages on as Sigrid's frost, former region of elves, is frozen in time, uninhabitable for men and woe for any adventurers seeking treasures.   8. Ok well I need modders and some writers for my mod. I've only used creation kit a couple times and am not that good at it, if anyone is decent with creation kit or has made a quest mod before then please reply, you will receive full credit when mod is released. Also I need writers, I have the plot of the story made, but I need someone that would be a dialogue writer/editor for me. I'm not that good at writing dialogue and my old editor quit. So I need modders, and anyone that can edit my dialogue, I already have made a dialogue but it could use some editing, and story editors would help too. If you reply to this, I will send u the full details of the mod and the script via email or message.
  9. What is Mod-Tec? Mod-Tec is a team-oriented and multi-faceted undertaking that aims to bring a variety of high quality mods to Fallout 4. What began as an idea for a single mod shortly after Fallout 4's reveal and an interest in collaboration eventually gave rise to Mod-Tec in the latter half of September. Now, with 2015 drawing to a close and the release of the Creation Kit looming sometime in the near future, Mod-Tec is officially open for business and looking to expand! Current Projects While there are a number of ideas for potential mods on the backburner, there are currently two projects that we're most interested in developing and have prioritized. The first, simply titled Gloria, is easily the most ambitious and was the idea that laid the foundation for Mod-Tec. Gloria There's no easy way to summarize what Gloria is. The following serves as an (admittedly abstract) introduction to the events that kick the mod into motion. I can't go into much more detail without divulging key plot points that I would prefer to keep under lock for the time being. TL;DR Edition - The events of Gloria place the player in the shoes of a man named Joseph Duvall, a fully-voiced character who the player will control throughout the length of the mod. Gradually, the player will come to learn who, exactly, Joseph is as they unravel the truth behind the world they've found themselves thrust into. The mod will feature a brand new worldspace, fully voiced characters, plenty of new, original assets, a variety of engaging side content, and a gripping, emotionally-charged narrative that centers around the themes of memory, identity, and loss. I have revised and expanded upon the initial premise for this mod since August and have tremendously high hopes for its potential. As of right now, the mod has a fully licensed soundtrack in place and ready to go, over twenty pages of design notes, concepts, and ideas, a number of narrative themes and plot points fully fleshed out, and a basic layout of the mod's unique world space. Denizens of the Commonwealth The other project we're currently focusing on is, thankfully, a little easier to explain. Currently titled Denizens of the Commonwealth, this is a project geared towards introducing unique and fully-voiced new NPCs into Fallout 4 in an effort to further enhance and expand upon the base game with meaningful, interesting characters. This idea was more or less directly inspired by Kris Takahashi's excellent "Interesting NPCs" mod for Skyrim. I'm hoping to add anywhere between 10-20 new NPCs with the first release of this mod, and my hope is to have an initial release ready to go by mid-to-late February or March of 2016. This is operating under the assumption that the CK for FO4 is released sometime between January and March. How can I help? I'm glad you asked! At the moment, we're currently seeking additional writers and concept artists. We need more writers for both Gloria and Denizens of the Commonwealth, while concept artists are more specifically needed for Gloria. Once the CK is released (or after a sufficient amount of concept art is developed), I plan on recruiting 3D artists. I don't plan on actively recruiting scripters until the CK's release, simply because there's not much that can be done to actually implement any content we develop until it's out (disregarding currently available modding tools, which I'd prefer to avoid relying upon at present). That being said, if you have experience with scripting and you're interested enough to jump on board at this early stage, feel free to get in touch with me! Just be aware that there probably won't be a whole lot to do for the time being. How can I join the team? Any and all help is welcome. Simply clarify your intended level of support when contacting me. Contributors will not be given access to the shared Google Drive account, nor will they be expected to participate in any group discussions pertaining to the development of Mod-Tec projects. Rather, contributors will work either directly through corresponding with me or, depending on the nature of their contribution (2D/3D art, scripting, level design, etc.), through a more appropriately suited member of the team. Plans for the Future Collaboration and the development of new ideas is one of the most pivotal aspects of Mod-Tec; aside from the projects currently in-development, I whole-heartedly welcome suggestions for additional content from not only members of the team, but the community at large. Eventually, I will create dedicated social media pages for documenting Mod-Tec's progress across all its projects in addition to using this thread to host important updates, announcements, and more.
