  1. I guess I need to wait on the modders to help with this but would having just one main gun on a M class transport ship have really broken the game balance that bad Egosoft? My fav way to plan an X game is Scavenger/Trader type play and I would have loved to make a Argon M class transport as my main ship but not having a manual fired weapon for things like lock-boxes and stuff kinda kills it... Right now I have been stuck with my courier vanguard for this roll (as well as it's one of the few if not only ships that have even a hint on an interior pass the cockpit)
  2. Hi, everybody.I'm just like you-a fan of the universe x, and indeed all such games. It so happened that I have a video card gtx660 2gb. This video card still perfectly supports performance in the games of 2018. (well, not that very) So, I bought x4, and it is impossible to play with it!! Not because low fps, no on the contrary, everything is fine. But because the textures disappear, the menu, everything becomes invisible or filled with low-quality models from LOD. The official response of the developers about this-they say less than 3 gigabytes is not supported. look at the game, outer space, very few objects nearby, where resources go?Or in the game advanced graphics. In General, as people who more or less knows about graphics cards and hardware, I thought this answer strange! I did a little research. It turned out that the memory of the video card is not a critical parameter, and that the lack of this memory can not lead to problems of complete absence of textures. Another source claims that video memory complements the system's RAM, and just about increases the card's capabilities. In other words, a smaller amount of video card memory will simply give an increased load on the system. (drop in FPS) And most interesting is THAT NOT ALL GAMES CAN FULLY USE EVEN 2 GB of VRAM in 2018. Generally, I believe, that Egosoft artificial created this problem, deliberately, either mistakenly. It is more likely that NVIDIA is experiencing a decline in interest in mining, bribed Egosoft, so that they raised the minimum system requirements for video cards gamers. Yes, not just so, and that it was critical, we are essentially forced to take a new card. I believe in the talent of modders, especially after mods on Skyrim. And I ask the guys - restore justice, create a patch that will eliminate this stupid restriction or even stupid blackmail by the developers.
  3. The Paranid destroyer L class ship has the most annoying whining sound like nails on a chalk board. I am trying some mods. Anyone else notice this? I ask because not sure which sound effect is doing it. Thanks. I am playing the game lately and trying to mod it into being playable and to see if i want to get any of the DLC. The lack of respect for the characters in game and ambience of the game is making it very difficult to want to get the DLC as good as much of the game is.
  4. My original crew has broken arms and legs after an update and it isnt mods. Some nice uniforms were removed and replaced with baggy uniforms and deformed character models with large asses and all wearing baggy clothes. The NPC's were not very flattering to start with, but now some have broken arms and legs and others dont look great. Fallout 3 nd Skyrim have BS and many clothing mods and this game has none. Kenshi a quite popular and successful game on Steam has character customization in game so if players want large characters or slim characters they can. Anyway the broken arms and legs (the crews arms and legs are twisted and broken in 3 places and bent out of shape its hideous and cruel and maybe someone will say its a bug but the slim female characters getting this only doesnt seem very nice, some male characters have this to come to think of it) of the original characters and removing of the flattering uniforms, and no crew customization and all these things is really broken now. If someone can make the crew and NPC's look better and add some clothes and uniforms i am sure the game would be more popular! Maybe someone can help? Thanks. By the way, all the X space games have had really bad looking characters and they really need to show some respect to the crew and characters and traders and pilots in their games. Really.

  7. I dislike the storyline in X4 Foundations, so I'm trying this Disable Story mod. People are saying that this mod, specifcally versin 0.12, is broken. They say that the research doesn't work. Is there any truth to this? Is anybody using this mod, and how well does it work?
  8. I hope, this is the right place to ask for help. I run the mod "Reputations and Professions". I have a standing of +23 for MIN, but in Reputations it's Visitor (Required for more: none) 923k Credits Ranger 100% Defender (Trusting) 100% Still I cannot buy the militia ships/BPs. Any ideas please?
  9. Ayyo! I am very new to the whole X4 Universe, but I was sure that I wanted to start my experience with a nice Mod Collection. Until now (~15 Hours ingame) everything went smoothly. Now I am stuck at the "Maintanance Duty" Mission for the Segaris Plot where I have to repair 3 Satellites. The moment I enter the Spacesuit, my Ship explodes and my relations with the Terran, the Split, and the Yaki change. Terran and Split went down, into negative numbers, which is very unfortunate because these are up until now my go to factions and I have 3 Miners running in Split Sectors. The Part with my ship going all boom is ofc also very unlucky xD Further Information: Terran Start - Cadet; exploding ship in question is my starting ship, the Kukrii; I have fines on that ship but paying them doesnt resolve the issue. I wanted to ask the collective intelligence of the X4 Modding Community, if anyone possibly has an answer for this Issue. *edit: I use the X4 Vanilla Enhanced Collection
  10. Hey guys, i would love to get this ship from the HQ plot as a usable ship. My idea would be: the ship would be intended as some kind of equivalent to today's AWACS aircraft. If you have it in your fleet, it ramps your radar range up to f.e. 120/150 km (like this ship has 120/150km radar range). It should be fast to keep up with the quicker fleets but should (as today's birds) not be armed except for defensive measures like flares or drones so it would be dependent on your fleet/assigned escort as defensive measure. I mean it basically is a Okinawa freighter with huge antennas instead of cargo modules and the model already exists but i have no clue about extracting/copying it :-/

  12. Quite frankly, the Energy Cell cost for processing scrap is just obscene. 90k per hour for the first step alone. Turning that processed scrap into usable materials uses another 92k per hour. Solar arrays generate 10.5k Energy Cells per hour ... You need 18 arrays to meet demands (with some change.) 18 arrays take up a HUGE amount of space, not to mention all the extra storage modules you'll need just to hold those cells! (aside: I have designed a self sufficient station that has 4 advanced electronics factories as the end product, the whole sprawling organization is powered by a single solar array! This just highlights the stupidity going on here!) Research has lead me to the revelation that the whole scrap mechanic was released in tandem with a DLC which added a system that grants a ridiculous bonus to energy cell production. Well I think I figured out why the devs made this system so bat shirt mental! Their solution to the problem they created is dumb. It needs fixing. Could somebody out there make a mod that reduces the cost by, say, a factor of 10? That way we'd only need 2 arrays which considering the consumption rate of other factories... is a little much but frankly much much better.

Hi. i have a ship (frigate on split's "Cobra" based), and no have any idea how to insert him once in charcter game... ship: hull 45 000 8 medium shield's 12 turrets 8 medium weapon slots 1 small weapon slot (optionaly, for use ship repair laser like second weapon) 1 s ship dock bonus of dep., miss., dron capaticy, and cargo 3750 container cheatly and disbalanced for add's to any faction. in may fantasy: unique ownerless ship, created near player position, once in load game. 3 questions: 1) it's posable? 2) Somebody need? 3) Somebody help's?
  14. Is it possible for someone to create a supercarrier ship with a capacity of 100 M ships, with 10 M Docks on either sides, or 5 docks distributed on top/bottom/both-sides ? No need for fancy ship model, just a cuboid with the aforementioned setups (bonus points if two separate ships in both setups), with like 4-5 XL shields, 4 engines, and 10L and 20M turrets on each of the four long sides of the cuboid? Also tag it as an auxiliary ship to refit on the go, and no small docks or launch tubes. Are there M launch tubes? Are there any mods out there with a ship that has lots of M docks/capacity? Or am I just insane?
  15. Hey guys, thanks for all the great mods so far. I have been working on some of my own but there's one i've been grinding my gears on and could use some advice. Basically I just want to swap the animations (engine trail) on the engines when boosting/afterburner with the animation during travel speed. I just feel like the travel speed engine trail should be so much longer than it is like when using the boost. any assistance and where to look would be appreciated.
  16. Hi fellow modders, I'd like to move multiple (specific) crew members from a role to another within the same ship. For example all girls as service personell and male marines, or maybe all split marines and argon services.. It shouldn't be very difficult but also a simple multiple selection/move/fire of members should be enough. I usually do it manually but in a capital ship it requires thousand of mouseclicks and hours... Is it feasible?
  17. Hello guys Is it possible to make a mod where we force the player to stay to his choisen faction. Make all the other races hate you so you can't be friends with them and that they shoot you at the gate. I mean look at all the other races, Argons make the best proteine shakes from their brains, the teladi are the best roasted above a fire, and the paranoids make the best lolly's for your kids if you pop their eyes on a stick. To accomplish this, we need lots of sticks... euh.. sorry wrong What i mean, is it possible to make the player loose reputation to all the other factions if he gains one reputation for a faction. Preferable losing 2 reputation at each other faction if you gain 1 reputation for a faction. This to force you into war with all the others. Blue prints, limited ships and your headquarter could cause some problems if you get above working. You might want a way to reverse engineer captured ships to gain their blue prints. Factions also don't have all the blueprints for sale. I notices that some of them are sold at HOP and the ones they don't have are sold at PAR. that could cause some problems. Is it possible to make an option to get blue prints by researching them in the research screen? The headquarters for your research is another thing, the best would be getting rid of it but keeping the option to do the research. If that can't be done it would be handy to have it spawn in a neutral zone or your choisen faction. (maybe its possible to research the jumpt technology and jump it out your self before the teladi are sending their warships to it.) Kind regards, Aernout.

I installed X4 Foundation and try to install a reshade for this game during the installation process, I choose Volcano and everything seems to go without errors, but nothing changes in the game itself ((I press Home and nothing happens! In version 5.0.2, there were no checkboxes to enable the Volcano globally. Please help me with this problem!
  19. The vanilla game makes it a real pain to select every trade good you want to buy and sell. You have to click on one trade good at a time and then click okay. Would it be possible for something to add some check boxes and maybe the ability to create a preset. For example, I could create a preset that only bought and sold intermediate goods. Or, I could create a custom list and create a preset name for that group of trade goods. As it stands right now, it is so tedious to create a trade good list for every single ship. I hope a modder out there will help the community out. I'm certain others find this painful as well.
  20. please Increase your experience with trading transactions and the destruction of enemy ships, to quickly obtain the achievements of X-Treme Trader And x-Treme Fighter, lock-boxes next to 40 pieces, and the ability to send ships to adventure with a modified game =)
  21. The vanilla NPCs are so ugly! Maybe someone can mod them? I also do not know why 95% of the NPC´s have black faces. Maybe we can just equal white and black abit?
  22. Please can someone remove that annoying music loop starting every time you enter any trader shop on stations. (turning off music in the setting turn all the music off that i want to ear except that ?%$#@ loop). Thank you in advance and im sure other X4 Citizen will greatly appreciate also.

Dear Mod God's :happy: I would like a mod that could make it to where they can customize how a crew member looks, choose individual characteristics like face and hair, race/species, voice, clothing and lastly LET ME SEE/CHOOSE HOW MY OWN CHARTER LOOKS in 3rd person, most of the time i feel like a floating camera. If i knew how to mod i would do it like this if possible 1. Make it to where i could buy all the clothing options or "blueprints" from a trader at any station 2. make a room that can be available at all stations titled Mall or barber that the player can take the elevator to just like the mangers office. 3. Make a NPC or a terminal in that room that you can talk to/use and you can customize any crew members on that station or any ships docked at the station. 4. The way you customize the crew members would be through the same Ship builder Menu/Station Builder Menu and it pulls from the blueprints you have bought and renders how your crew member will look with said item. 5. enable 3rd person camera when on a stations and on ships, i find it dumb you cant to this from the start of the game. I think that would be the most realistic way to do it with out it being game breaking and giving you control over how both you and your crew looks. i know this would be a TALL order but i am willing to bet people would LOVE this and this mod would open the door to entire new branch of mods for this game. just think about being able to add custom clothing to this game, make your crew look like members of serenity from firefly, or like star track or star wars.

I have unzipped a few Mods (using Hampster) into my root directory Drive:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\X4 Foundations\Extensions folder but the Mods are not working, I then removed all Mods except 1 in case there were any conflicts - still not working. So I created an extensions folder in my Docs\Egosoft\X4\90971146\ Extensions folder and added it there - not working. Now I could understand one Mod having an issue but not 4 of them, so I suspect operator error from this silver surfer somewhere along the line, but I just cant see it. would really appreciate ant help or advice on this, thanks guys.
  25. Hi, simple question: Where do I start modding x4? -- For example: tools? type of code used in the game? or even point to a tutorial and I start from there. I have some experience with programming, and want to learn modeling so I can put in the game more ships designed by me (modeling i can learn from youtube, modding, i can't find info).
