I'm using MO2. I have the .1170 update. I can't get SSE engine fixes working with the new update. I leave it unchecked, download/ install some mods and test for stability. Everything is working. I currently have 276 mods downloaded (left pane in MO2 and not all are activated though as some give me problems like Northern grass and others). I have about 490 plugins activated (right pane of MO2). 170+ ESL's, (mostly patches I think), 140+ ESP's, and 160+ ESM's + ESP's, and about 20 ESM's. I'm using Zmerge (from Zedit) to make a merged plugin. I'm trying to merge the patches from Jk's interiors patch mod (which gives me close to 150 new ESP's). I can make the merge and activate it in my load order. It reduces my plugin use to about 330+ plugins, but when I try to start the game via SKSE, it deactivates all the plugins. When I leave my new merge unactivated (in the left pane of MO2, still leaving me with 330+ active plugins because none of the patches are activated too), I get save corruption and can't activate the Mara statue from ASLAL (which I could do before I merged provided I deactivated enough mods to reduce my plugins down to 330ish). Help me please.

Is merging supposed to create copies of the plugins rather than just straight up merge them together? This creates enormous space issues for me. I thought I had just enough space to have SSE and my MO2 profile on the same SSD, it appears I was proven wrong once i got to merging. It effectively doubles the size of my mods folder consisting of 400+ plugins. I'm stumped. PS: Yes, I know I'm not supposed to merge all 400+ plugins together. The problem is that I can't even create ONE merge containing just a fraction of that without running out of space.

Merging of mods fails using zmerge with Vortex because of the error below: Exception loading ArmorKeywords.esm: "ArmorKeywords.esm" requires master "DLCCoast.esm" to be loaded before it. Fatal Error: Exception loading ArmorKeywords.esm: "ArmorKeywords.esm" requires master "DLCCoast.esm" to be loaded before it. I used to have this same problem when using matortheeternal's merge plugins standalone with NMM. I solved the problem by editing the NMM plugins.txt file and adding the masters at the beginning of the file. However, when I try to do the same using vortex and zmerge it doesn't work. Has anyone found a workaround for this?

Over the years, I've used Merge Plugins several times and followed GamerPoets tutorial several times and always had successful results. Without this tool I would have a load order far beyond 255 plugins so it is essential for me. However, now that I'm returning to Merge Plugins and Gamerpoet's 2016 tutorial in 2020, I'm having no luck at all, I can't even set it up. Firstly, there is no server connection. I'm not sure how essential this is, but being able to see other people's reports on their merging successes and failures was one of the most helpful features and this is not available without the server connection. Secondly, I can't configure it to work with MO2. In the options, it cannot find MO2 and even when I put all the paths in manually, the 'OK' button is greyed out so I cannot proceed and save my settings. Is Merge Plugins just no longer supported or does anyone know a way round these issues? I know zEdit is in development, but it seems in fairly early stages and I really like that Merge Plugins gave you indications on how mergeable a plugin is based on users' feedback. is zEdit really ready to replace Merge Plugins? Thanks
