jadeempire Modified textures

So having dug up my old copy of JE and decided to try out the Jade Empire In Style mod, but this time I decided I would change the textures a little bit. I've modded Bioware files before (KotOR specifically), so it was quite familiar, but when I launched the game with my new textures, the game displayed them unmodified.

 

Now the JE wikia is pretty much dead, so I thought I'd pop by here and ask if anyone has any suggestions?
