888mikem888
I don't see what was so bad about Joshua being heavily religious, he's still a good character, or at least I thought he was. I really didn't like Honest Hearts though because it felt like a DLC devoted to fetch questing. Other than that I liked Joshue, Daniel, and the Sorrows. mushroom2506
I quite enjoyed Honest Hearts, I like the change in scenery and I realy like the .45 pistol. There wasn't that much to do or see though. Could have more quests. I did like the characters.

laclongquan
Level 6-10 is a good range to do it. Do you have EDE in Primm? Do you have Boone in Novac? Both require very low requirement to recruit. With both as followers, you will have enough protection to survive a trek there. If not, do a leg-quest for ranger Andy in Novac may be enough to get you up in NCR fame, lead to being given NCR Emergency Radio. Call for a Ranger, and he will stick to you. Sure three will be very safe to travel to northern passage. Stick to the ruined road. Less chance of meeting undesirable that way, though the route to Novac may cross one hotspot. From Novac, follow the road to 188 trading post, then to GrubnPup. Just stick to the main road and northward you go. You will skirt Outer Vegas on the way. At Northern Passage before you get into the cave. dismiss the Ranger using the item. you can dismiss the other two inside the cave so let them follow you in. My advice for starting Honest Hearts is bring your best weapon, preferably a scoped rifle and lots of ammo for it. Lots. 400-600 sounds good. HH give you weapons for .45 rounds, and 12.7mm and damn little else for other ammo/guntypes. They are good weapons, but there's no scoped one, so a good scoped rifle is recommended. If you meet the choice to scare off Ricky, there's another guard who will replace him, so it's no loss in firepower. There's a major firefight at arrival. There's no shame to stay far away, hidden, and sneak shot at the still alive attackers. Very far away. There should be three duffel bag at the cliff, safe to store until you complete HH, as they will disappear once you went back to Mojave. IT's convenient in that it's pretty near fast travel point, but there's plenty of other place with more utilities. Enjoy the tour in Zion. It's a good place. Oh, and a final PS: there's a chance Joshua wont refresh his inventory. It's a known bug. I dont care much for fixing it because it lead to a wonderful experience of keeping your ammo count. PLUS, he can give you expensive but limitless repairs, and the ammo is limited, so you should buy all the .45 rounds and break them down, remade them into .45 handloaded or +p. It will make your every shot much powerful.

I dont like having them... yes, they are useful, but most of the time when i wanted to be quiet, they just dont stand still even when ordered (Lydia... Dogmeat... >.> ) ill give it a shot tho. laclongquan
HH is a fresh breeze compare to the suffocating experience that is Dead Money. Indeed, I like HH much much better than DM, though that' s not a high bar.
MattyDienhoff
I like the setting, great for a survival character's camping trip. But I did find the quests and writing to be lackluster. Most of the quests are just fetch quests, with few skill checks or alternate ways of completion. There are few choices to be made, and none of them feel like any kind of serious dilemma you have to think about much. Like the big decision of whether to fight or flee, or whether to shoot General Gobbledegook, shoot General Gobbledegook a slightly different way that's a little better for Graham's mental health, or let the scumbag leave so he can rape and pilage someone else another day... Honestly, I found The Survivalist's terminal entries to be more interesting than the actual quests. I still liked Honest Hearts better than Lonesome Road though. :P

And then the 88s are shoo'd out by the Dead Horses and Sorrows, who are a bit more benign towards caravaners, who then do business with the New Canaanites. It's the ideal ending (as Daniel's naive idealism ends up giving him a bad ending no matter what). I went into HH with a boatload of .308 JSPs and a fully decked out Hunting Rifle (which, along with the Battle Rifle, can endure firing .308 JSPs for a more appreciable length of time than the sniper or auto rifle) and still had some left afterwards. peadar1987
I loved Honest Hearts, purely because it was my favourite region to explore. Absolutely gorgeous scenery, and it shows that it's not just Bethesda who can put together amazing locations. The quests weren't brilliant, but they're not why I keep going back to Zion, although I think both Daniel and Joshua Graham are interesting, deep, characters. Obsidian have said that they didn't intend for it to be a collection of relatively shallow Fetch quests, but they had to push the DLC through to meet a deadline so were quite limited in what they could do (although I did like Yao Guai hunting while tripping balls!) One thing I would have liked (and did try) was a way to eliminate the menace of Salt-Upon-Wounds without ruining the innocence of the Sorrows. I snuck all the way up Three Marys at night with my night scope, picking off the White Legs before they even knew I was there, manoeuvred into position above their camp so I'd have a clear shot at S-U-W when he appeared, and nothing. My assassination mission was useless, the only way to complete the mission was to go about it Joshua Graham's way.
