The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (NYC Health Department) Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness announce the expansion of the Get the Good Stuff program to supermarkets in communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, racism, and disinvestment. Through Get the Good Stuff, New Yorkers participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can earn $0.01 in reward points for every $0.01 spent in SNAP benefits on eligible fresh, frozen, canned and dried fruits, vegetables and beans.
The intent of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to identify up to eight supermarkets with capacity to electronically distribute incentives to shoppers through their point-of-sale systems. Supermarkets may apply for more than one store location; however, if applying for more than one location, each location requires a separate and complete application.

The goal is to increase access to care for school-aged children who have emotional and behavioral challenges by providing them with appropriate clinical services while in the school setting. This RFP seeks to identify qualified community-based organizations (CBOs) to establish school based mental health clinics within four (4) school clusters, each serving up to 1,250 students in high needs/underserved areas.

Award Details
A total of $570,700 in private funding is available to support this pilot, with $142,675 allocated per school cluster. The two-year grant is intended to support start-up of clinic services and to fill gaps in billing and reimbursement from Medicaid or other third-party insurances. As part of the Health Department’s efforts to increase the long-term financial sustainability, technical assistance will be provided to help CBO partners develop a robust insurance billing infrastructure.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this funding, organizations must:
- Be tax exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Individuals are not eligible to submit proposals for this RFP.
- Possess an Article 31 license* under the New York State Mental Hygiene Law to open a clinic and provide treatment services AND currently be operating an Article 31 PAR clinic with a New York City public school.
- Have a minimum of three (3) years of successful experience providing services of a similar nature and scope as those required in this RFP, preferably in an urban setting, to a large, socioeconomically and culturally diverse school, school system(s) and/or community-based organization(s).
- Be located within the five (5) boroughs of New York City to enable in-person meetings and site visits to be scheduled within 24 hours’ notice.

The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) are pleased to announce the creation of the HealthyNYC Learning Collaboratives, a new multi-year initiative which aims to advance the City’s campaign to improve and extend the average lifespan of all New Yorkers.
The collaboratives will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders to focus on the biggest drivers of premature death, including: cardiometabolic conditions (including cardiometabolic disease and diabetes-related diseases), screenable cancers, overdose, suicide, maternal mortality, violence, and COVID-19. The purpose is to align stakeholder program and policy efforts toward priority strategies that will have the greatest impact on increasing life expectancy. Partners will also be provided technical assistance to guide them in implementing evidence-based practices and applying a health equity lens to ensure that all New Yorkers enjoy the opportunity to live a healthier, longer life.
This Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks a technical advisor (TA) to lead the design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the learning collaborative initiative. In partnership with the NYC Health Department, the technical advisor will: conduct an assessment to identify key stakeholders and assess their needs; co-design the strategy for a 12-month initiative; enroll collaborative members; organize and facilitate in-person and virtual convenings and technical support activities; design and disseminate tools and resources; review, and incorporate evaluation data to ensure progress in meeting goals and objectives, and; develop a final impact report.

The maximum amount of funding available to support this project is $4,500,000. This scope of work will be for a 24-month period, beginning in July 2024 and ending in June 2026.

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, in partnership with the Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC), seeks to partner with community-based organizations (CBOs) that are trusted messengers in their communities to amplify its citywide campaign to encourage undocumented New Yorkers aged 65 and older to enroll in the newly expanded Medicaid-managed care insurance plan. The campaign will coordinate targeted public messaging through community and ethnic media to increase knowledge of and enrollment in the Medicaid expansion opportunity. CBO partnerships will strengthen this multimedia outreach effort through cross-promotion of the campaign to the target audience. This population will benefit greatly from targeted outreach in their preferred language from trusted community messengers about their new eligibility for expanded benefits.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for this RFP:
- Must be a community-based organization tax exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Examples of eligible organizations may include: health advocacy organizations, faith-based organizations, public health organizations, direct service providers including food pantries, shelters, and others, civic and social organizations.
- Currently provide services in at least one of the following New York City Community Districts:
- Queens Community Districts 3, 4, and/or
- Manhattan Community Districts 3 and/or 12
- Bronx Community Districts 4, 5, and/or 7
- Brooklyn Community District 7
- Have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience within the last five (5) years with each of the following:
- Providing health education and/or outreach services in communities impacted by health disparities.
- Providing ongoing community outreach in communities with limited English proficiency.
- Enrolling individuals in health insurance and/or making referrals to benefits enrollment.
- Engaging with older adults.
- Must be in good standing with FPHNYC and the NYC Health Department if it has an existing grant or contract in place.
- Must not be suspended or debarred by any State or Federal entity from receiving funds.
