Advisable to keep the primary project #focus. Time, owner & resources for the additional issue or challenge resolution being assigned separately, so, both planned & unexpected works are all under control, project steers back on track.

The first action is to inform all the stakeholders of the unexpected site situation. After this first hand information the following actions can be taken 1. Assessing the situation and analysing the resource requirements. 2. Planning to arrange these required resources. These can be available on site, which might affect other on track activities or a complete new resource may be required. 3. Assessing the cost for these changes and putting it forward to the stakeholders. 4. Revision of schedule, as per the change in the resource availablity for other ongoing activities. Surely an unexpected challenge can threaten to throw the project off course, with better planning the impact can be minimised.
