🌟 Celebrating the Final #WeBuySocialEU Training Event! 🌍 On 29 January 2025, the #WeBuySocialEU initiative hosted its final training event in #Luxembourg at the Conference & Training Centre of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, bringing to a close an incredible series of sessions dedicated to socially responsible public procurement across Europe 🇪🇺 Over the past year, #WeBuySocialEU travelled to 12 EU countries—Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain—delivering 16 dynamic training sessions, some of which were hosted twice. Each session brought together contracting authorities and social economy actors, offering them opportunities for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and capacity building. Highlights from the Luxembourg 🇱🇺 session included: 💡 Thibault CHEVRIER – Legal expert at CHEVRIER & FAVARI, Avocats à la Cour, discussing the integration of social criteria into tender documents and at different procurement stages. 💡 Jean-François Jaminet – Legal expert at the Legal Side, showcasing EU best practices in implementing socially responsible public procurement (SRPP). 💡 Laurent Droise – SAW-B, Solidarité des Alternatives Wallonnes et Bruxelloises, exploring the potential for Luxembourg to get inspiration from Belgium’s social clause facilitator model. 💡 Jennyfer Nündel – FEDAS Luxembourg asbl, on strengthening collaboration between social economy actors and public procurers. 💡 Cathy GALOY SERVIPLAST scrl-fs – SERVIPLAST scrl-fs, sharing insights into the role of the social economy in procurement processes. 💡 Sabine Bolognini – Conseil départemental de Meurthe-et-Moselle, discussing execution condition clauses and criteria for procurement in #France. 💡 Bernard Lahure – Cluster Social & Circular Economy Greater Region, bringing a closer look at social economy actors and procurement. 💡 Jean-Louis Zeien – Director of Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg, discussing how collaborative partnerships turn commitments into coherent policies that drive real impacts on human rights and the environment. A huge thank you to the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce for hosting us in their amazing premises, and to Sabrina Kohn for her invaluable support. It was a pleasure to take a group picture with representatives from both Prepare AISBL and AEIDL (European Association for Innovation in Local Development) , the two Brussels-based organizations where I am involved in management. This gathering at the Mid-Term Event of the European Rural Parliament was a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and work towards a stronger voice for rural communities across Europe.
