How to advance #ValueBasedHealthcare (VBHC) on a global scale within the next 3-5 years ? At the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) leadership Forum, Anne-Claire DE CLERCK shared our VBHC transformation journey core drivers and progress within Air Liquide’ #homecare activities.    🛣️ 4 years ago Air Liquide Healthcare engaged in a VBHC strategy based on 3 fundamentals:  ✅ creating value through new service models ✅ optimizing costs to deliver these new services ✅ making the right connections to partner with key stakeholders to collectively shape healthcare systems. 🫱🏼🫲🏼 With 40 other international #Healthcare leaders representing the whole ecosystem (policy makers, #patient associations, #NGOs, payers, industry, #healthcareproviders, scientists), Anne-Claire de Clerck participated to 2 round tables. 💡Opportunities to increase VBHC implementation, focusing on policy shaping through education, practice evolutions, co-creation with patients, and payment alignment on better outcomes. 💡Collective and individual actions to be taken in 2025, as part of the ICHOM consortium. This morning, Louis-François RICHARD, shared at the World Health Summit what we collectively learned from the #oxygen crisis during the #covid pandemic and what the industry, including Air Liquide needs to do in order to sustain access to #medicaloxygen in Low-and Middle-Income countries. 💡 4 takeaways: ➡️ Reliability of oxygen availability at the point of use was (and remains) the N°1 expectation from #hospitals. ➡️ In the countries where #liquidoxygen was available, medical oxygen deliveries could be increased to the levels required, leveraging on production units flexibility. ➡️ Scale-up of supply chain (trucks, tanks, cylinders), extension of distribution networks inside hospitals and workforce availability was a challenge. ➡️ Liquid oxygen was also transported across borders using maritime transport in particular. 🛏️💤Today it is estimated that close to 1 billion people worldwide suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea syndrome (#OSA), with only 20% of cases diagnosed or treated[1]. While untreated OSA leads to decreased quality of life, and potential injuries. 📱Apneal proposes to address the sleep challenge by currently developing an OSA screening solution usable on most smartphones with the aim of applying for CE marking as a #medicaldevice in the near future.
