Conférence internationale en soutien au Liban 🇱🇧 Le ministre des Affaires Etrangères néerlandais Caspar Veldkamp s’est rendu aujourd’hui à Paris dans le cadre de la conférence internationale organisée par son homologue français Jean-Noël Barrot en soutien au Liban. Cette visite rappelle que les Pays-Bas sont engagés à travailler avec la France 🇫🇷 et les autres partenaires internationaux pour un retour de la stabilité regionale et une solution politique. #SIAL2024 This week, Sara Offermans, deputy ambassador, and our agricultural team visited the Dutch companies present at the 60th Salon International de l’Alimentation 🥑 - SIAL Paris.   Hosted every two years in Paris, #SIAL is Europe's largest food exhibition and attracts large numbers of visitors who come to discover new progress and innovations, with the aim of developing new opportunities for collaboration 🤝 and business.   This year, 160 Dutch companies were present, including 40 🇳🇱 under the colours of the Dutch pavilion. These companies demonstrated their expertise and ability to create innovative new products, for example in the meat 🥩 and dairy 🧈 sectors, in the organic sector or alternative food solutions such as hybrid meats. These included Scelta Mushrooms 🥇, winner of a SIAL 2024 Innovation Award, as well as Beyond Meat, Zandbergen World's Finest Meat, VanDrie Group, TOP The Onion Group, De Wijndragers #LiefdeVoorEten#LiefdeVoorEten, Goedegebuur Vlees Rotterdam B.V., The Crushi and Rival Foods.   At the end of the day, at a reception in the Dutch pavilion, Sara Offermans gave a speech in honor of SIAL and all the Dutch companies present.   💬 “Innovation is one of the most important features of this fair. The Netherlands have traditionally been very innovative 💡 in agriculture and food, so it is very appropriate that there are many of us here. The 🇳🇱 Netherlands and France 🇫🇷 work closely together in the field of agriculture and food innovation. This of course concerns Wageningen University & Research and its counterpart the French INRAE. These two are each other's most important partners in Europe. By this I also mean that they are the most successful in bringing in all kinds of European 🇪🇺 and international projects and funds. But there is also a lot of cooperation in the private and public-private spheres. You can think of big companies developing R&D activities in both countries; I only have to mention Danone, Roquette, DSM and Heineken, and you know enough. The main theme of the assembly was the governance of judicial jurisdictions in France, in particular the role of the president in court governance 👩⚖️. The French 🇫🇷 and the Dutch 🇳🇱 legal systems have many common features as Dutch civil and criminal law is inspired by French law. The governance of the courts, however, differs particularly since 2002 when the governance of the Dutch courts of first instance and appellate courts in the Netherlands was altered. Looking back on the Lightweight Auomotive Mission to Bretagne 🛞 During this mission to Bretagne, a delegation of 11 individuals from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 participated to engage with French companies and R&D organisations. The goal was to explore the evolution of lightweight materials in the automotive industry and discuss their application in the sector. The delegation travelled to Lorient and Rennes in Brittany 🇫🇷 and visited a number of companies, including Coriolis Composites ComposiTIC, ENSTA Bretagne, FORVIA (ex-Faurecia), Continental and EXCELCAR 👩🔧.
