Where did our friends go?? The bike rides. The sleepovers. Your first cigarette. Gossiping about your latest crush. Being consoled when they break your heart. Discovering a new city. Re-discovering your own (at 2AM). The hungover brunches. The tears. The laughs. The love. So many of the moments that shaped us were shared with friends. And then those moments started happening online. Posting photos from last night’s party. Tagging your latest situationship. Poking your roommate (whatever that means??). It was exciting and well intentioned, but something got lost along the way. The platforms that were built to bring friends closer together became places we go to scroll through videos… of strangers. We’re entertained, but where did our friends go? We started amo because we believe that friendship still deserves a place online. We’re a group of friends who have spent our lives building stuff for friends. And now, we’re getting ready to share something new for you and your crew. We call it amo. And to us, amo is more than a company. It’s a friend affair, « une affaire d’amitié ». Something we’re making for you, but for us too. Our first idea is almost here. We hope you love it as much as we love making it. Welcome to amo. https://amo.co/

🆕 on Bump: Say it with stickers! Bump just got a new feature: stickers. You can now send your favorite roasts and inside jokes to friends, directly from the map. Pick from trending stickers, search on GIPHY, or make your own from a photo in your camera roll. It's the easiest (and most fun!) way to communicate with friends on the go without having to text or call ♡

Distilling the core of your app experience into a widget is no easy feat. Ilia Nalimov, Product Designer here at amo, shares more about the design decisions that went into our Bump Friend Widget: "In the design process for home screen widgets, our primary goal was to incorporate key information into a limited space without compromising on aesthetics or functionality. We chose to highlight a close friend’s face, making the widget an emotionally meaningful element of the home screen that brings joy with every glance. The second priority was the friend’s current location, allowing users to instantly understand whether their friend is traveling or relaxing at home. Balancing the visual hierarchy required careful selection of elements and making compromises; for instance, when displaying movement, we opted to show speed instead of textual geolocation. This design approach enabled us to create a compact and intuitive widget that not only informs but also strengthens the connection between users and their friends." You can see the results for yourself by adding the new Bump Friend Widget to your home screen. Already available on iOS and coming very soon to Android! ♡
