Making Earth 🌍 the best place in Space 🚀 #SpaceEnablers

À propos

With roots reaching back more than 70 years into the history of space activity in Europe, ArianeGroup embodies Franco–German technological space program heritage. We are responsible for both design and the entire production chain of the Ariane 5 and Ariane 6 rockets, including launch services by our Arianespace subsidiary. We are also prime contractor for the strategic missiles of the French oceanic deterrent force. Our wide-ranging expertise covers propulsion systems and equipment for space and defense programs. Space launchers are indispensable to enable mankind to benefit from space activities and technologies, since they are the sole way to access space. Our vocation is to make our planet Earth, our unique and precious home, a better, self-sufficient, and peaceful place for everyone to live in. That is why we are true #Space Enablers. ArianeGroup is a joint venture equally owned by Airbus and Safran, and employs approximately 9,000 highly qualified staff in France and Germany.

🚀 What’s the fastest route to Jupiter for the #JUICE probe? 🛰️ A gravity-assisted voyage via the Moon, Earth, and Venus, as part of European Space Agency - ESA’s major planetary mission to the largest planet in our solar system. Built by Airbus Defence and Space and equipped with an #OrbitalPropulsion system developed, manufactured and integrated by the #SpaceEnablers at our Lampoldshausen site, the JUICE (JUpiter ICy moon Explorer) spacecraft will use Earth's gravity to bend its trajectory and perform a double world first: The first-ever lunar-Earth flyby, and the first-ever double gravity assist manoeuvre. A daring feat where precision is key. Its engines will propel JUICE through these critical flybys, adjusting its speed and direction for the 800 million kilometre journey to Jupiter. Launched on an Ariane 5 operated by ARIANESPACE, this journey isn’t just about reaching Jupiter but exploring potential oceans beneath the icy crusts of its moons – Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto – which could harbour extraterrestrial life. 🌌👽 Proud to have contributed to this extraordinary mission, we’re eagerly watching as JUICE continues on this interplanetary adventure. Stay tuned for more updates! #SpaceExploration #WorkInSpace #SpaceIndustry

Ten years ago today, an extraordinary duo took to the skies to perform an incredible task. 🚀 On 29 July 2014, a specially designed #Ariane5 rocket launched the last Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) ‘Georges Lemaître’, carrying over six tons of vital supplies to the crew of the International Space Station (ISS). Named after the astronomer who formulated the Big Bang theory, the 20-tonne spacecraft was a technological marvel, capable of completely autonomous docking with an orbiting space station. It was designed and built by #ArianeGroup’s forerunner company for the European Space Agency - ESA. Impressed by the ATV’s capabilities, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration has incorporated this technology into the #Orion vehicle for the Artemis mission. 🌔👩🚀 Stay tuned as hundreds of our #SpaceEnablers experts are now working on the European Service Module (ESM) for Orion, continuing our legacy of innovation and exploration. 🛰️ #WorkInSpace #SpaceIndustry 📸©: ESA

Four of our #SpaceEnablers carried the Olympic flame! 🥇🔥 On its 12,000-kilometre journey from Athens to this year's venue Paris 2024 - Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024, it was carried by people who exemplify outstanding contributions to sport and society. Among the 11,000 torch bearers were four of our colleagues from ArianeGroup, supporting the values of excellence, friendship, and respect. 🛶 Vincent, a Swip Manager for stock management and a top Paracanoe athlete, carried the torch in Pau. Having overcome a life-changing accident, Vincent embodies resilience: “Life doesn’t stop when you become disabled – it can even be beautiful. I want to empower people to move from saying ‘I can’t do it’ to ‘I can’t do it yet’”. 🏉 Rose, a Health Inspector and European 7s rugby champion and runner-up, took up the flame in Bordeaux. She is committed to reconciling sport and family life: “This honour shows that being a professional, a mother, and an athlete can go hand in hand”. 🏃➡️ Morgane, Head of Production Control and Inspection and a keen sportswoman from an early age, carried the flame in the Jupiter Hall in Kourou, supported by her family: “It was an exciting moment not just for me, but for my relatives around the world”. 🤺 Astrid, Head of Improvement for Technical Management and Support Functions and silver medallist in foil fencing at the Tokyo 2021 #OlympicGames, completed the final 200 metres of the Vernon course: “Every member of the relay team is a link in a chain of deserving individuals who represent France’s excellence – much like at ArianeGroup, where every single employee made the success of #Ariane6 possible”. We are very proud to have such inspiring people among us who not only excel in their professional roles, but also embody the Olympic spirit. As we look forward to the Games starting in France on 26 July, we celebrate the team spirit and ambition that drives us all. 🚀 #Olympics #Paris24 #OlympicGames24 #ArianeGroup 📸 ©: Paris2024 /Cedric Michel/ SIPA PRESS / Rosina Jimenez

ArianeGroup’s #Helix space surveillance system also had its sights firmly fixed on Ariane 6’s inaugural flight 🚀 and captured a remarkable view of the new European rocket as it powered through space. 🌠 The Helix space surveillance service developed and operated by ArianeGroup is used to detect, track and characterise objects in space with extreme precision. For Ariane 6’s big night out, Helix was programmed to track the launch and payload separation. The images in the video were taken by sensors at two of the Helix network’s ground optical stations, Nerpio in south-east Spain and Calern in southern France, and show the release of five of the mission’s passengers from the rocket’s upper stage. The fact that our Helix system too played a part in the extraordinary launch event makes us even more proud of what we are achieving together. We are delighted to share with you this unique view of Ariane 6 as it made its impressive debut. #Ariane6 #VA262 #SpaceIndustry #SpaceSurveillance
