🏢 Installée sur le site Michelin de Cataroux, à Clermont-Ferrand, pour développer une technologie de recyclage chimique, la start-up Bobine a inauguré un démonstrateur industriel. Une première étape avant la mise sur orbite de ce nouveau procédé. Intégrée au Centre des matériaux durables, Bobine a été créée en octobre 2023 par deux sociétés privées, BLACKLEAF SAS et Sicat (filiale de Saint-Gobain) pour industrialiser cette technologie spécifique qu'est le recyclage chimique des plastiques polyoléfines. ▶️ Les polyoléfines pèsent 45 % des plastiques produits dans le monde, rappelle Vincent Simonneau, directeur général de Bobine, alors que le PET, sur lequel travaille par exemple Carbios, voisin du Centre des matériaux durables, n’en représente que 13 %. Un gisement considérable déjà traité pour moitié par recyclage mécanique. "Mais les déchets trop souillés ou trop mélangés, soit l’autre moitié, sont encore enfouis ou incinérés. La technologie de Bobine permet de les recycler avec un meilleur rendement et une consommation énergétique moindre, soit en global des coûts de production réduit de 45 % par rapport au recyclage chimique conventionnel." ▶️ Les futurs clients de Bobine seront des géants de la pétrochimie en quête d’une alternative aux procédés de production de plastique actuels à base de pétrole, explique dans La Montagne, le journaliste Patrice Campo. "Nous n’avons pas vocation à opérer nous-mêmes des usines, souligne Vincent Simonneau. Nos clients achèteront nos licences et construiront leurs propres usines dotées de notre procédé." Encore faut-il les convaincre. D’où la nécessité du démonstrateur en place à Clermont-Ferrand, qui a nécessité un million d’euros d’investissement, mais n’est qu’une étape. 🗓️ "Le deuxième étage de la fusée, explique le dirigeant, ce sera une mini-usine capable de traiter une tonne par jour et pour laquelle il faudra investir 10 millions d’euros environ. Nous espérons la démarrer en 2026 et l’établir ici ou, au moins, dans la région.
