Building for life, building for efficient supply chains 🏗️ Delivered by Americaribe LLC, the Palmer Lake Logistics Center is South Florida’s first multi-storey warehouse and uses a high-performance sorting process. 🔹The three-storey building offers a total surface area of 93,000m2 with sorting operations taking place on the first floor in an area of approximately 14,000m2. 🔹 Flows have been optimised for lifting and handling operations, with ten unloading bays on the ground floor and a roof deck with 583 parking spaces dedicated to delivery vans.  🔹Beyond the logistics space, the building also includes offices and welfare facilities for employees, and a retail area on the ground floor. On the roof, a 28,000m2 canopy of photovoltaic panels help to reduce the building’s carbon footprint by generating renewable energy to power electric vehicles. Over 2,700 concrete precast structures enabled the project to be handed over in just 13 months! [PROJECT HANDOVER] The Ray Dolby Centre, the new hub of scientific progress for the Cavendish Laboratory - Department of Physics at the University of Cambridge.   Delivered by the dedicated teams of BOUYGUES UK, this state-of-the-art facility is set to revolutionise both research and teaching, providing the ideal environment for scientific exploration and innovation.     🏗️ Designed by Jestico + Whiles and constructed by BOUYGUES UK, with the support of design partners NBBJ Design and BDP (Building Design Partnership Ltd), this project will significantly enhance the University’s world-class research capabilities.    The Ray Dolby Centre spans 32,900 square metres across five floors and brings together numerous research groups under one roof. [INSIDER'S INSIGHT] Electrical Reliability in Healthcare Environments 👏 This summer, Bouygues Bâtiment International handed over the International Hospital Centre of Calavi in Benin to the client, Ministry of Health. As the largest hospital in West Africa, the 48,000m2 facility is destined to transform healthcare delivery in the region. The hospital, equipped with the latest medical technology, provides 434 beds and houses various specialised departments under one roof, including nuclear medicine, chemotherapy, dialysis, neurology, intensive care. This impactful project was brought to life by an extensive team made up of Bouygues Construction’s financial engineering, purchasing and logistics departments and Bouygues Bâtiment International’s experts in commercial, engineering, legal, and production. 📽️ In the latest Insider's Insight episode, Francois-Xavier Lungobardo, Electrical Engineer based at our headquarters in France, emphasises the critical role of electrical reliability in maintaining seamless operations within complex medical environments. [NEW PROJECT] A W Edwards, Bouygues Bâtiment International’s Australian subsidiary, has secured the Main Works contract for the Ryde Hospital Redevelopment.   This flagship project, commissioned by Health Infrastructure (NSW Government), marks the largest undertaking for this longstanding client and is a significant milestone for our Healthcare Business Line.   🏥 The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will transform healthcare delivery for the local community, offering expanded services such as an advanced emergency department, intensive care, medical imaging, and 184 additional beds.   The design blends the latest technology with sustainability, featuring 40,000m² of new clinical buildings, photovoltaics for renewable energy, and a green roof. All of which contribute to the local district's goal of achieving Net Zero by 2035.   🎯 Completion is set for October 2027. [CROWS NEST] Transforming Sydney’s transport landscape 🚇 After three and a half years of hard work, Crows Nest Metro Station has officially opened its doors to passengers! Delivered by our Australian subsidiary, A W Edwards, this highly technical project stands as the largest of its kind for A W Edwards. Its success was made possible thanks to the Australian teams dedicating their in-depth knowledge and expertise to the project, along with the full backing and support of Bouygues Bâtiment International and Bouygues Construction. 🚉✨ The first metro services commenced on 19 August, connecting the local community of Crows Nest to central Sydney in just 11 minutes. [LET'S CLIM'ACT DAY 2024] A global Initiative in action! 🌍   🌱 This week, we proudly hosted our "Let’s Clim’Act Day 2024" - a worldwide event dedicated to showcasing the progress of our climate action plan since its inception in 2021.   💚 With participation from over 1000 colleagues across 16 countries, this global movement provided a platform to discover and learn more about the innovative low carbon solutions being implemented on our construction sites. Designed in the format of an interactive game, teams raced against the clock to identify the ways in which Bouygues Bâtiment International is lowering carbon emissions across its operations.   👏 It was the perfect way to celebrate European Sustainable Development Week.
