There is sometimes only one way to convince people of the power and precision of #InSAR. You've got to put it into a familiar context. 🌏 I've visited some remote site teams who have spent the best part of their #geotechnical career using ground-based surveying methods and some people simply cannot believe InSAR is capable of getting millimetric precision from hundreds of kilometers into space! 🛰 In these circumstances, I could explain how the technology works. Because after all, knowledge is power. However, I have found that the most convincing thing to do is demonstrate our InSAR alongside their ground-based #instrumentation. 📉 By seeing the same ground displacement trends in both datasets people build #confidence. With this newfound confidence, their eyes dart across the InSAR dataset as they look at ground #displacement #measurements across their area of interest and beyond, beyond their ground-based instrumentation. 🤯 All of a sudden, they have at their fingertips, access to a much richer ground displacement dataset with more measurement locations in and outside their area of interest. It could be higher #precision and give them access to historical data from before they even installed their ground-based instrumentation!
