As the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) on Biological Diversity kicks off today in Cali, Colombia, the urgency to act has never been clearer 🌱 Because of human activities, biodiversity is eroding 100 to 1,000 times faster than natural processes. This isn’t just a loss for nature—it directly impacts our food security, health, and resilience to future crises. With 75% of animal species at risk of disappearing in the next few centuries, we are rapidly approaching devastating tipping points. At COP15, world leaders committed to ambitious targets in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, such as protecting 30% of the world’s land and oceans and restoring 30% of degraded ecosystems by 2030. Now, at COP16, it’s time to move forward in cooperation for biodiversity protection. To nourish your thoughts on these topics, check out this inspiring ChangeNOW 2023 talk: Biodiversity: (re)connecting to nature, which explores solutions and strategies for protecting different types of ecosystems, highlighting the interconnection of species and human commitment to environmental protection through legal empowerment, monitoring technology, and indigenous-based initiatives. 📺 Watch the talk here > https://lnkd.in/gqdyR6y3

Here’s some news that fills us with pride: we’ve received the prestigious Sustainable Event Award at the Event Days! 🏆 Hosted by EVENTS Days and The Big Green in Deauville, this event brings together key players in the event and sustainability industries. This award recognizes ChangeNOW as a driving force in eco-responsible events. It’s been our ambition since the very first editions, and this is the first time our efforts have been officially acknowledged by the event industry. It’s a huge achievement for our teams! ✨ Beyond the concrete steps we take to create a large-scale international event that sets the standard for sustainability (zero single-use plastic, 97% reuse of materials, 75% to 100% vegetarian menus…), we’ve especially focused on sharing and spreading these practices across the industry: 👉 Creating a “Fresque” that details all the eco-friendly and inclusive actions we’ve implemented, from production to communication; 👉 Pushing for influence and inspiration across the industry to encourage the adoption of these practices; 👉 Providing support to our partners, like the Paris Olympics with waste management or offering CSR recommendations for the renovation of the Grand Palais. Congratulations to the other award-winning event players: Arcachon Ecotours, Memories - Magic Videos, eko Events, Heroiks Event, and a big thank you to the jury: Anne ROBLIN, Nicolas Turpin, Agathe de Comeeti, Emmeline CACITTI, William Barret, Frédéric PITROU. Thank you to Event Days for shining a light on the initiatives driving a more responsible event industry! 🔦

What was on your lunch menu today? 🍲 On this World Food Day, let’s remember that answering this question is still a privilege. Up to 733 million people worldwide face hunger due to conflicts, climate crises, or economic struggles. Around 2.8 billion people can’t afford a healthy diet, even though we produce more than enough food to feed everyone on the planet. At the same time, about one-third of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions are linked to food production. We urgently need to rethink how we produce and share food. We need to create a system that is fair, respects nature, and ensures everyone has access to this basic human need. This is exactly what we explored last week at the World Living Soils Forum with Chefs NADIA SAMMUT, Alain Ducasse, Mauro Colagreco, and Elisabeth Boucher-Anselin from the Michelin Guide and Philibert CHAMBRE, Founder of the Business of Bouffe podcast. 📺 Watch the replay here > https://lnkd.in/ew2Au3-B 🔗 Check out the page dedicated to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations > https://lnkd.in/dvTpVQtF 🎙️ Watch ChangeNOW’s food-related talks replays here > https://lnkd.in/edJjqKxM #WorldFoodDay #SustainableAgriculture #SustainableGastronomy

"It is our task to enable the future, not to foresee it” - Antoine de Saint Exupéry Because we have a duty to enable the future, because we must act now and act concretely, we joined forces with KPMG to create the Earth Action Report. The Earth Action Report is the first comprehensive guide for systemic change. We've made it detailed, with an in-depth analysis of the urgent challenges facing us and our planet. But it's also practical, offering clear priorities and actionable solutions for business and institutional leaders. We mobilized the amazing ChangeNOW community to identify the main priorities to create systemic change. Over 100 contributors, C-Levels and Sustainability Leaders from 20 different countries and diverse backgrounds shared their expertise with us and gave us their insights on how to actively tackle the environmental and societal challenges we are collectively facing. What you’ll find on this report: 🔭 A forward-looking, multi-year perspective 💪 Actionable and out-of-the box solutions ✨ And most of all: hope and empowerment Download the report here > https://lnkd.in/eKA8A-CU KPMG France Kevin Tayebaly

The World Living Soils Forum was all about discussions, connections, and sharing experiences. But most importantly, it was about solutions! This is what drives us at ChangeNOW: uncovering and shining a light on innovative solutions, meeting changemakers and entrepreneurs who are taking action right now for an ecological and social transition. We’re especially proud to have showcased 23 innovative impact solutions that are actively working for the health, protection, and regeneration of our soils. During two days, they had the chance to pitch on stage, in the gorgeous setting of Luma Arles. If you missed it, don’t worry—we interviewed four of them just for you! 👇 👋 The Land Institute Soilytix Bioani Sand to Green
