200 Years, 150 Special Guests, 3 Unforgettable Days and One Magnificent Bicentenary Dame-Jeanne The Delamain team would like to thank those extraordinary guests who joined us in Jarnac for three unforgettable days of bicentenary events. Founded in 1824, the House of Delamain this year celebrates a 200-year journey immersed in the art of crafting exceptional Grande Champagne cognacs. To mark the occasion, we are proud to unveil L’Edition Rare du Bicentenaire. The cognac combines five eaux-de-vie, each selected and nurtured by one of the last five generations of the Delamain family and blended by the House’s two last Cellar Masters. It is presented in an iconic 10-litre dame-jeanne decorated by the Maison d’Art Goossens Paris and is to be auctioned by Bonhams. Thanks to Rachel King for her feature on the launch of L'Oiseau Rare for Forbes magazine. As we noted in our announcement of July 11th, Delamain is extremely proud to reveal L’Oiseau Rare (rare bird), an hors d’âge Grande Champagne Cognac that is set to become part of Delamain’s permanent range. Released as part of The House’s bicentenary celebrations, L'Oiseau Rare is the creation of recently-retired Cellar Master Dominique Touteau, and crowns his celebrated 40-year career. L’Oiseau Rare is the liquid embodiment of the house’s special relationship with the Grande Champagne and the sensorial harmonies possible when time, cellar conditions and the blender’s art combine with the gifts of this special terroir. The name L'Oiseau Rare pays tribute to Jacques Delamain, a cognac visionary, scholar and prolific writer who wove together passions for the natural world (in particular ornithology) and a pursuit of ethereal Grande Champagne cognacs. As part of its Bicentenary celebrations, the House of Delamain has partnered with Galerie Goossens, a renowned Parisian “Maison d’art,” on the creation of a unique dame-jeanne that celebrates a shared passion for exploring the natural world through enlightened craftsmanship.
