🌍🌱 [#ESG] A landmark biodiversity and nature theme bond for the Asia-Pacific region. Having assisted Asian Development Bank (ADB) in its #sustainablefinance journey since inception, today, we are proud take part in the first biodiversity and nature theme bond issued by ADB. Announced during the Biodiversity #COP16 currently taking place in Colombia under the theme of “Peace with Nature”, this issuance is a key step in the finance industry and a great example for other companies which are aiming at having a greater impact on the environment. As sole arranger in the purchase of the AU$150 million, 10-year issue by the The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited, we strongly support the company in its journey toward #sustainable investments. These bonds are used to finance projects that protect #biodiversity and implement nature-based solutions across Asia and the Pacific. The funds raised will support projects such as the restoration of wetlands and environmental infrastructures in China and the reconstruction of heritage water structures with natural solutions in India, providing essential carbon sinks and strengthening climate resilience.

🌍 Capitalising on favourable Euro rates to support three Asian sovereigns in tapping the Euro bond market. We are proud to have supported the governments of #China, #HongKongSAR and #Indonesia in issuing Euro bonds during the third quarter of 2024. Leveraging our expertise in sustainable finance, two of these transactions were aligned with sustainability indicators, serving as strong benchmarks for other issuers in the region to follow. We have helped issuers explore opportunities for more favourable funding conditions. Although inflation and geopolitical uncertainties in Europe remain, as the Fed has cut rates in mid-September, the #Euro bond market offers a flexible gateway for non-European corporates and governments to secure financing in another currency. 🌍 Successful Participation at Sibos 2024 🌍 We are thrilled to have participated #Sibos2024 in Beijing, which took place from October 21-24. Sibos is the annual conference, exhibition and networking event organized by Swift for the global financial industry gathering more than 10,000 decision makers and experts. 🌏 Key market trends were shared, and our managers made significant contributions through important conference sessions. 🎤 👉 Etienne Bernard, Global Head of Cash Management, joined a “Big Issue Debate” on the topic “As ISO 20022 reshapes payments, how can providers reshape themselves?”. The move to ISO 20022 reshapes the entire payments landscape and opens opportunities for payment providers to redefine their value proposition. 👉 Dominique Honore, Head of Global Trade Finance and Cash Management Products & Structuring, participated in the “A whole new (digital) world: where trade and payments meet” panel. Trade transactions account for 50% of global cross border payments and making these fast, transparent and efficient is essential. How can we unlock the alliance between trade and payments to deliver a joined up solution fit for the future? Additionally, we had the privilege of connecting with numerous financial and technological partners through business meetings, paving the way for a connected future in Cash Management and Trade for Financial Institutions. 🤝✨ A huge thank you to Swift for organizing this fantastic annual gathering for the FI Community! 🏆 #Sibos #TradeFinance #CashManagement #Innovation #Payments Photo Credit: Swift
