Value through Proximity! During the last two days UIIN held a forum on “The Role of Proximity in Driving Strategic Collaborations”. The conference was co-hosted by ZEISS Group and held on Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Campus North, in the ZEISS Innovation Hub building. This was dear chance to meet up with further fellow peers from Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark's EPICUR alliance partner, KIT. So much relevant information was shared, and I am looking forward to follow-up talks with Max Riedel (ZEISS Group), Jennifer Kaiser-Steiner (UnternehmerTUM), Arno Meerman (UIIN) and David Reichert (ARENA2036). The value of having partners on campus is evident and there are a number of different ways to succeed. And thanks to the KIT-team, Kirsten Rosa, Sascha Weimar, Nadine Berends, Josie Quehl, Michael Zacherle and Wiebke Gröschler M.A. You made the visit a true pleasure. Thank you for introducing me to campus, history, transfer, celebrities amongst alumni’s and entrepreneurship activities. KIT is a leading example on how to work with transfer from university into the surrounding society. The “Triangel” building on mainstreet embodies this. Just leaving Toulouse after my first participation in EAIE: European Association for International Education representing the EPICUR alliance within the European Universities Community. The exposure for our activities was fantastic and I enjoyed the rich discussions and experience sharing with fellow alliances. ✨ Busy and productive days at #EAIE2024! ✨ Yesterday was packed with meetings and discussions with fellow alliances, partners, and Vanessa Debiais-Sainton European Commission. 🇩🇰 🎓 This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to attend Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark’s summer school in Odense, Denmark, where I delved into geoeconomics, statecraft, and international security. Being in a classroom that leaned towards more economically driven analyses highlighted how strongly my political science background shapes the way I approach geopolitical events. What made the experience even more enriching was the group of passionate individuals I met. Their decision to dedicate their holidays to learning speaks volumes about their drive and curiosity. If you’re looking to connect with great professionals in healthcare, AI, engineering, project management, software development, or geoeconomics, I’d be happy to recommend a few! Thank you, Denmark, for hosting us, and a special thanks to the EPICUR University Alliance for selecting me to participate in this transformative experience.

🎤 "We are seeing what you are capable of. And we count on you for the future." The conference about Internationalisation and European Universities Alliances is still ongoing. Jean-Marc Planeix, strategic coordinator of EPICUR, took part in the panel session "Cooperation with Ukraine: strengthening ties among Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions with the European Higher Education sector". He underlined the importance of cooperations in Higher Education, and talked about the perspectives of widening the current initiatives within the EPICUR Alliance. In June 2022, European alliances signed the statement to support Ukrainian universities.
