À propos
The European Space Agency (ESA) is Europe’s gateway to space. Its mission is to shape the development of Europe’s space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to the citizens of Europe and the world. ESA is an international organisation with 22 Member States. By coordinating the financial and intellectual resources of its members, it can undertake programmes and activities far beyond the scope of any single European country. ESA's 22 Member States are Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia and Lithuania are Associate Members. Canada takes part in some projects under a cooperation agreement. Five other EU states have Cooperation Agreements with ESA: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Malta.

European Space Agency - ESA a republié ceci
In nearly 70 years of spaceflight, around 10,000 satellites and rocket bodies have reentered the atmosphere, but we still don't fully understand the process. Now, an airborne experiment aims to observe the 'Salsa' (Cluster 2) reentry. Scientists on a small plane will gather rare data on satellite breakup, helping to make future reentries safer and more sustainable. https://lnkd.in/en4Q8Big

🛰️ #ArtemisIII, the third mission of the NASA Artemis programme, will mark the first human return to the lunar surface since Apollo 17 in 1972. 🚀The third European Service Module, ESM-3 built by Airbus Defence and Space under contract to #ESA, will play a critical role in supporting the four astronauts during their three-week mission aboard NASA’s Orion Spacecraft: from the moment they launch, their journey into lunar orbit and their safe return to Earth. 🚢ESA and Airbus teams waved goodbye to ESM-3 last week and it is now Moonbound, crossing the Atlantic Ocean on board Canopée, the world's first hybrid wind-powered ship. 📷 From beginning to (almost) end: these #CopernicusEU #Sentinel3 images were taken 15 days apart and show the evolution of the fires that affected the island of Madeira, Portugal. The last image is from yesterday - as reported by the local civil protection, the fires are contained now. 🔥 Burnt scars are in brown while vegetation is in red. 👉https://lnkd.in/esPw-MEv Credits: contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data (2024), processed by ESA
