During our pitch and discussions, Rooholah N.     In a recent collaboration, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Bluerisk jointly released a comprehensive report delving into various hydrogen production technologies, such as electrolysis (including alkaline and Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM)), Steam Methane Reforming (SMR), Autothermal Reforming (ATR), and coal gasification. The report’s primary focus was on water implication in hydrogen production. IRENA’s findings emphasized the water efficiency of green hydrogen (electrolysis), declaring it as the most water-efficient among all clean hydrogen types. However, it’s crucial to note that their assessment predominantly considered water as the primary source of hydrogen. This overlooks alternative sources like methane and hydrogen sulfide, which can be utilized without water consumption. Technologies such as Methane Pyrolysis and Hydrogen Sulfide Methane Reforming offer viable pathways to hydrogen production, eliminating water consumption altogether. At GERAD Tech., we’ve embraced innovation through Non-Thermal Plasma Technology, enabling us to produce hydrogen without relying on water, even for the cooling system.
