[Announcement] GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) announces that it has recently received five Approvals in Principle (AiP). 👉 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗜𝗜𝗜 ‘𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆’ 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆  GTT has received three AiPs paving the way for the use of ammonia and methanol as alternative fuels for LNG-powered ships equipped with the Mark III system. This allows ship-owners to prepare their vessels for future conversion without major structural modifications. ✅ ‘Ammonia Ready’ rating: Two certifications, issued by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore, confirm the viability of using ammonia as an alternative fuel. ✅ ‘Methanol Ready’ rating: This certification, also issued by Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore, offers flexibility for the adoption of methanol in line with market needs. 👉 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝟮𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬-𝗺𝟯 𝗟𝗡𝗚 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 GTT has also obtained AiPs from Lloyd's Register and Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore for its new ground-breaking 200,000-m³ LNG carrier concept, specifically designed for slow steaming navigation. By integrating three cargo tanks (against four traditionally), this design allows for the same quantity of LNG to be delivered annually while reducing fuel consumption thanks to a lower optimised cruising speed. 💡 [Annonce] english below GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) annonce la première mise en œuvre de son concept « 1 barg ». Ce dernier sera appliqué aux cuves de douze porte-conteneurs propulsés au GNL récemment commandés et équipés de la technologie Mark III Flex de GTT. Après avoir développé des cuves permettant une pression nominale de 2 bar sur des modèles de plus petite capacité déjà en service, c'est la première fois qu'un niveau de pression nominale plus élevé sera appliqué à des cuves de grande capacité (> 3 000 m³). Cela offre des avantages importants pour les armateurs, notamment : ↪️ 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗿𝗲́𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗿𝘂 : cette conception permet de conserver le gaz plus longtemps et d’éviter les pertes inutiles pendant les périodes d’activité réduite. ↪️ 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝗡𝗟 𝗮̀ 𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲́𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝗲́𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲́𝗲𝘀 : une cuve conçue pour une pression effective de 1 bar facilite le soutage de GNL à des températures plus élevées. In particular, ClassNK, which granted us an AiP for a 30,000 m³ LNG carrier, optimized for small-scale LNG trading and bunkering. [Investissement] 📣 (english below) GTT Strategic Ventures, le fonds d'investissement du Groupe GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz), a participé dans un tour de financement destiné à soutenir Bluefins, une startup innovante dans le domaine des systèmes de propulsion des navires. 💡 Société française fondée en 2021, Bluefins a développé en partenariat avec l’Ifremer une technologie d'hydrofoil articulé, inspirée des nageoires caudales des baleines. Ce système de propulsion biomimétique, installé à l'arrière des navires, utilise des mécanismes articulés pour convertir le mouvement de tangage en propulsion avant. Cette technologie unique optimise l'efficacité énergétique en réduisant la consommation de carburant et les émissions de CO2, SOx et NOx de l’ordre de 20%. La technologie Bluefins est conçue pour s’adapter à une grande variété de navires, tels que les porte-conteneurs, vraquiers, méthaniers et pétroliers, qu'ils soient neufs ou en service. ▶ Plus d'information : https://lnkd.in/ef3725_g *** [Investment] 📣 GTT Strategic Ventures, the investment fund of the GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) Group, has announced its participation in a fund-raising round aimed at supporting Bluefins, an innovative start-up in the field of ship propulsion systems. 💡 Founded in 2021, the French company Bluefins has developed, in partnership with Ifremer, an articulated hydrofoil technology inspired by the tail fins of whales. This biomimetic propulsion system, installed at the rear of vessels, uses articulated mechanisms to convert pitching motion into forward propulsion. This unique technology optimizes energy efficiency by reducing fuel consumption as well as CO2, SOx, and NOx emissions by around 20%. Additionally, it enhances the stability of vessels by reducing pitching, contributing to safer navigation.
