GTC was founded in 1989 by a passionate, collector and racing driver : Jean Guikas. Jean Guikas is a real classic and racing car passionate: he bought his first Ferrari when he was 18, was finalist at “le Volant Elf” and has had between his hands and sold more than 600 Ferraris among them seventy Daytona, ten 250 GT California, three 250 LM, some Tour de France…, over 200 Maseratis, a hundred Lamborghinis, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar etc ... Its 33 years-experience in the automotive world have made him an expert in classic cars. WHAT MAKES GTC A SPECIAL CLASSIC CAR DEALER? Every single car for sale at GTC is owned by GTC. 24 Heures du Mans Five years ago, I was about to experience my first 24 Hours of Le Mans. Surprisingly, I spent 28 of my life without going to this legendary race. But my first one to attend wasn't disappointing at all. Quite the opposite actually. Sometimes in 2018, we - a bunch of friends, GTC - GUIKAS COLLECTION and myself, talked about entering a car at the 24 Heures du Mans. Long story short, we ended up ordering a brand new Ferrari 488 GTE (a Ferrari? really? what a surprise :) ) and entered it in GT Pro category. The livery was the result of a competition organized between students of a Parisian design school; Risi Competizione was in charge of the car, while three top drivers (Jules Gounon 🇫🇷 , Oliver Jarvis 🇬🇧 and Pipo Derani 🇧🇷) were behind the wheels of our blue 488 and what an experience it has been! Our car finished the race without a scratch, unfortunately not on the podium due to several events. Today the car is still with us, takes center stage in our collection, bearing the marks of the sole race she ever entered (I insisted not to clean the car when it arrived at our place. Someone disagreed on this topic but can only admit today, thanks to every single person looking at the car pointing out how cool it is to see her with her "racing wrinkles", that it was a good idea). This experience was unique. We learnt a lot about many things, we met wonderful people, and experienced a very special moment as a family. We had so much fun. From A to Z. We created lifetime memories. I was already fascinated by this race but today it's something else. It's indescribable. Because I have all these moments, smells, noises etched into my memory. Put your foot down at 1,000 rpm in fifth when the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer's speedo is reading less than 50 km/h, or at 5,500 rpm when it's showing a full 240 km/h, and the result is the same - a great, solid, incredible surging forwards, tremendously powerful but silky smooth too, and accompanied by a glorious, unique noise. Whatever you do with the "BB", or whatever you think of it, one fact is inescapable; its engine is its heart and soul. The extraordinary flat-twelve that sits low behind the seats does much more than provide the Boxer with its staggering performance: it is the essence of the car's concept, the creator of its character, the provider of its name, the reason the BB stands alone in the automotive world and the bearer of an important part of Ferrari tradition.
