In September, I had the opportunity to present our vision for the future of cardiology on stage at the LSI conference in Sintra, Portugal.
I wanted to share some thoughts after this event.
The LSI conference is one of the few events that focuses entirely on medical technologies. It’s a fantastic chance to connect with hundreds of entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts. The format, which includes numerous one-on-one meetings, makes it a must-attend event for anyone involved in the healthcare field. You can meet entrepreneurs and investors from around the world, as well as executives from leading medical companies.
Another highlight was seeing the wide variety of projects, from AI software to miniaturized MRI machines, surgical robots, potassium measurement patches, and many more, all aimed at a common goal: saving lives and improving healthcare systems. It was inspiring to witness such innovation and the shared purpose among everyone involved.
I was particularly interested in Alan Cohen’s talk from DCVC, where he presented the TechMed thesis. Unlike traditional medtech companies that mainly create new medical devices, TechMed companies distinguish themselves by developing smart software systems that enhance medical techniques. By integrating advanced technologies like AI, machine learning, and computer vision with devices, TechMed companies are setting themselves apart in the industry.
At hinlab, we fully support this TechMed vision, and I was excited to share our progress in building the most advanced AI-augmented solution in the field of cardiology!
