Et de 2! 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ 👟 Une vingtaine de membres de l'équipe Hy24 ont participé ce jour à la Course Paris-Versailles - course de 16,2 kilomètres reliant la Tour Eiffel et le château de Versailles.   👟 1 an après notre première foulée à la La Course des Lumières de Paris, nous avons à nouveau chaussé nos baskets et dossards pour un second challenge, relevé par toute l'équipe au profit de la Fondation du Souffle.   Nous sommes très heureux d'avoir pu faire bénéficier la Fondation du souffle d'un don de nos salariés et collaborateurs, abondé par la Hy24 Foundation, notre véhicule de soutien aux projets philanthropiques, créé en 2024 sous l’égide du Fonds de Dotation Transatlantique.   Dans le prolongement de nos activités d'investissement, nous avons créé ce véhicule afin de renforcer notre action : ➡ en accompagnant les acteurs institutionnels et associatifs luttant contre la précarité énergétique ; ➡ en collaborant avec le monde académique et la recherche afin de contribuer à la pédagogie et à l’éducation sur l’#hydrogène, ses dérivés, et les ressources renouvelables indispensables à la réussite d’une #transition au profit de tous.    Nous favorisons également l’implication des équipes souhaitant mettre des moyens en soutien de projets associatifs qui leur sont chers et servent le bien commun, par un système d’abondement à leurs engagements financiers/ou de temps, notamment pour la recherche autour des maladies respiratoires.   🇬🇧 We did it! 👟 One year after our first steps in the Course des Lumières in Paris, we once again laced up our sneakers and bibs for a second challenge, successfully taken on by the Hy24 team in support of the Fondation du Souffle.   We are thrilled to have made a donation to the Fondation du Souffle on behalf of our employees and collaborators, which was matched by the Hy24 Foundation, our fund for supporting philanthropic projects established in 2024 under the aegis of the Fonds de Dotation Transatlantique.   This fund focuses on two critical areas: supporting institutional and community organizations in their fight against fuel poverty, and partnering with academic institutions to advance education and research in hydrogen technologies and renewable resources.   We also encourage the involvement of teams who wish to support charitable projects that are important to them and serve the common good, through a system of matching their financial contributions and/or time, particularly for research on respiratory diseases. Stegra is teaming up with John Laing and Aquatech to build and operate a new sustainable 💧 water treatment facility at its steel plant in Boden — which is on track to become the first large-scale #greensteel plant in the world. The facility will include many innovative solutions to ensure a holistic water management system for steel production, from wastewater recycling to zero liquid discharge. 🔄 It will also supply demineralized water to the electrolyzers used to create #greenhydrogen. This will be a critical part of Stegra’s grounbreaking plant, where production is expected to start in 2026. A few weeks ago, our Investment Director, Pierre-Germain (PG) Marlier, attended the Aurora Hydrogen Conference 2024 organized in London by Aurora Energy Research. Pierre-Germain participated in a session dedicated to the bankability of hydrogen projects alongside Alexander Voigt, CEO of HH2E, André Pina, Global Head of Hydrogen Strategy & Origination at EDP Renewables, Nathalie Lemarcis, Managing Director & Head of Origination and Advisory for Europe at Société Générale, and Alexander Esser, Head of Nordics & Baltics at Aurora, who moderated the debate. The panel discussed the key requirements for financing hydrogen projects. As an investor that has already deployed close to 600 million euros through our Clean H2 Infra Fund into 8 project developers and companies, Hy24 is closely monitoring the investment dynamics of this emerging market. We are committed to identifying and selecting the most promising entrepreneurs and projects aimed at decarbonizing industrial and end-use applications. This involves producing competitively sourced renewable energy for hydrogen production, defining strategic geographies and co-investment strategies, as well as establishing offtake agreements and the necessary supply chains (transport, pipelines, etc.). ➡️ It's worth noting some recent figures published by the Hydrogen Council in collaboration with McKinsey. The global hydrogen project pipeline has grown seven-fold since 2020, from 228 projects to 1,572 as of May 2024. The pipeline has also matured, with a strong focus on advancing projects towards execution. Notably, the number of clean hydrogen projects that have reached FID (Final Investment Decision) has also increased seven-fold, with committed investment rising from approximately USD 10 billion across 102 projects in 2020 to around USD 75 billion across 434 projects in 2024.   Thank you to the Aurora team for having us at the conference! #AuroraHydrogenConference #HydrogenNow #Hy24 #Bankability #Investment

Ces derniers mois ont vu fleurir les ouvertures de stations #hydrogène pour HYSETCO ! ⛽ La start-up française, que nous soutenons à travers notre « Clean H2 Infra Fund », a inauguré pas moins de 4 stations en Région Île-de-France depuis le printemps dernier. 🚙🚚 Grâce à son réseau de 8 stations, dont les plus grandes sont situées à Saint-Cloud et à Vitry-sur-Seine pour servir des flottes de taxis et des véhicules utilitaires légers, HysetCo a réussi en 6 mois, à tripler sa capacité totale de distribution, la portant à presque 5 tonnes d’hydrogène par jour. L'objectif d'Hysetco : mailler le territoire pour encourager le développement de la mobilité #hydrogène et accélérer la #décarbonation des transports. Alors que l’Allemagne et l’Espagne appuient sur l’accélérateur en matière d’#hydrogènevert, la France semble quant à elle être entrée dans une période d’hésitation. ⏸️ 🇫🇷 Malgré une stratégie hydrogène définie en 2020 et des objectifs de production précis, le pays peine depuis à débloquer les budgets et les décrets d’application nécessaires pour soutenir la demande en hydrogène bas carbone. 💬 Comme le souligne Philippe BOUCLY, Président de France Hydrogène dans cet article pour Le Figaro, « il est temps que le politique mette en cohérence les déclarations et les faits » – sous peine de menacer la compétitivité de la filière naissante, et in fine la souveraineté industrielle française. Les débouchés pour l’hydrogène vert existent, notamment en matière de #décarbonation de l’industrie et du transport lourd. A few weeks ago, our Chief Industrial Officer, Nicole Vermeulen, attended the Gastech Exhibition & Conference 2024, held in Houston, United States. Nicole participated in two leadership panel sessions focused on the hydrogen market, discussing key topics such as existing bottlenecks, market expectations, achievements, and regulations, with particular emphasis on the U.S. situation following the IRA announcement. From those conversations, we can stress two key points: ➡️ The current U.S. Administration is facing challenges in formalizing a long-term clean hydrogen policy, particularly with the section 45V credits designed to offset clean hydrogen production costs, which could negatively impact its overall energy strategy. Regardless of which administration is in power following the election, the U.S. must soon establish a stable definition for low-carbon and renewable hydrogen. ➡️ Supply chain expansion is a top priority to support the anticipated hydrogen production: the entire supply chain must grow by a factor of approximately 100 to meet global hydrogen development targets. From upstream to downstream, the manufacturing of components across the low-carbon hydrogen value chain requires rapid acceleration. À mesure que les ambitions françaises 🇫🇷 en matière de #efuels s’affirment, les initiatives s'accélèrent, avec pas moins de 26 projets de production initiés sur le territoire. 🔍 📄 C’est le constat encourageant fait par l’édition 2024 de l’Observatoire Français des e-fuels, publié par le Bureau français des e-fuels sous le thème « Faire dès maintenant de la France un champion européen des e-fuels pour décarboner l’industrie et la mobilité lourde ». Cette progression des capacités de production d’e-fuels permettrait, sous certaines conditions, d’éviter l’émission de 2,7 Mt CO2 — soit l’équivalent des émissions annuelles de quelque 585 000 véhicules individuels, et pourrait placer la France en position d'exportateur à horizon 2030. ⏩ Reste maintenant, comme le préconise le rapport, à assurer la concrétisation de ces projets, pour permettre à la filière de continuer à se développer tout en remplissant ses objectifs de #décarbonation. 🎯 ➡️ Lire le rapport : https://lnkd.in/d2x5NpBU
