Minerals can prevent condensation and support sustainable construction. Here’s how: 🪟Insulated glass is made of multiple glass units assembled with spacers and sealants (see second photo below). ♻️The space between the glass units keeps homes warm in winter and cool in summer, helping buildings to optimize thermal loss and save energy. 🙅To prevent moisture or air getting between the glass units, we use special materials called sealants. Mineral solutions, such as our engineered HAR® range, improve the barrier properties of sealants, enhancing their performance. Discover more👇 👉Passage du Gois is a 4.125 km long causeway that links Beauvoir-sur-Mer and the island of Noirmoutier, in the Vendée on the Atlantic coast of #France. The causeway is peculiar because it is flooded by the high tide twice a day! Originally built in the 18th century, the causeway was reinforced in 1937 using concrete paving stone made with a particular #mineral solution developed by Imerys using calcium aluminate, which has allowed the structure to remain stable for decades! #Minerals can play an essential role in creating materials resilient to erosion and weathering over time, and can therefore be a crucial part of critical #infrastructure projects in a diverse range of sectors. 👉More specifically, the mineral solution used for this road is Ciment Fondu®, one of our flagship products, originally added to the Passage du Gois (used twice during the Tour de France in 1999 & 2011) back in 1937, which you can find out more about on this page: https://bit.ly/4fFxkrb

In this sector, #Imerys has a long standing partnership with #Hilti, leveraging Exalt™ Patented Aluminate Technology. This great collaboration resulted in Hilti launching the HIT - FP 700 R, the first injectable cementitious adhesive anchor for fire-resistant structural rebar connections. With its unique cementitious properties, HIT – FP 700 R behaves like concrete in case of a fire, allowing for simple fire design for post-installed rebar connections where performance at elevated temperatures is critical. This innovative technology was on full display as we were invited to attend the 3rd Supplier Day hosted by Hilti in Schaan, #Liechtenstein this June, celebrating key suppliers and were honored with the Innovation Excellence award!
