Intertranslations SA has been appointed as a supplier of Kent County Council, trading as Procurement Services, for the Y23031 contract for the Provision of Language Services. Through this partnership, Intertranslations will support Kent County Council, the largest local authority in England, with its mission by providing accurate and timely translations in a variety of languages and fields. And that’s where dialects make all the difference. 🧩 Why It Matters: In Québec, for instance, players say “chauffer le char” instead of “conduire la voiture” when talking about driving a car. Literally translated, it would mean “heat the cart”. This is a perfect example of how direct translation fails to capture meaning. And phrases like "C'est tigidou" to say “C'est parfait” in French Canadian might confuse even French speakers from other regions, yet they are crucial for connecting with local audiences. Did you know that 7.3 million people in Canada have French as their mother tongue, and 61% of Canadians identify as gamers? That’s a massive market. For younger players, this figure is even higher: 89% of children and teens (ages 6–17) regularly play video games, with boys aged 13–17 leading the way at 90% penetration.
