Laboratoire PHENIX

I’m excited to announce that I have completed my PhD in Structural Biology at the University of Florence! I have studied various systems using NMR spectroscopy, working on hydrogen storage materials, protein structure and dynamics, and protein-drug interactions. I also had the opportunity to conduct research internship in two excellent laboratories: PHENIX Laboratory and CRMN in Lyon, exploring new fields and applications of NMR spectroscopy.   I would like to sincerely thank all the incredible people I have met along the way, whose support and insights have inspired and enriched me deeply!! This multidisciplinary experience allowed me to combine fundamental research with real-world applications, thanks to the European framework of my PhD, which also included an industrial research component. One of the most inspiring aspects of this journey has been the chance to interact with brilliant scientists and pioneers in the field of NMR. Learning from their expertise, discussing science with them, and gaining their insights has been truly motivating. I conclude this chapter with great enthusiasm and curiosity, looking forward to applying the skills and knowledge I have gained to new challenges and opportunities. Always open to exploring new fields of growth and innovation! ✨

Il présente les résultats que nous avons récemment obtenus en appliquant des méthodes de simulation à l'échelle atomique à des sels fondus de chlorure de terre rare. Les sels fondus sont actuellement de bons candidats pour servir de combustible dans les réacteurs nucléaires du futur, qui sont imaginés pour être toujours plus sûrs et produisant des déchets plus faciles à gérer. Ces travaux sont en lien étroit avec la thèse de Maria Chiara Notarangelo, encadrée au LM2C par Julien Tranchida et moi-même, et à Sorbonne Université par Mathieu Salanne. Bonne lecture !

📢 Unlocking New Insights in Material Science and Biology with FFC-NMR Relaxometry! 📢 Exciting advancements are happening in the study of porous materials and biological samples, as explored by Prof. Jean-Pierre Korb in his talk on the applications of Fast Field Cycling Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (FFC-NMR) relaxometry. This innovative technique offers a powerful, non-invasive method to probe molecular dynamics and structures across a wide range of fields. 🎯 Why FFC-NMR Relaxometry?  Prof. Korb showcases how FFC-NMR relaxometry uniquely helps us understand complex interactions within porous materials, like rock and cement, as well as biological tissues. These materials exhibit intricate behaviours that are hard to study with conventional methods. Excited to see our work on "Anion Effect in Electrochemical CO2 Reduction: From Spectators to Orchestrators", where we reveal the critical role of anions in eCO2RR activity and selectivity, highlighted on the cover of JACS!
