🚀🌍 Our Sustainable Innovation Analyst, Imad Audi, had the great opportunity to be selected for PROMETIA's Tech Tour 2024 this June. During one week, he had the chance to explore some of the most innovative industrial sites in Finland. 🏭 Kokkola Industrial Park - KIP: The synergy among various industries was particularly impressive, with efficient use of by-products and energy distribution systems showcasing a practical model of industrial symbiosis. ⛏️ Talvivaara Mine (Terrafame Ltd): As one of Finland’s largest nickel and cobalt mines, the bioleaching process demonstrated the importance and potential of sustainable practices in the European mining industry. 🔧 Outokumpu: Visiting Turula Engineering Oy, Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) / Geologian tutkimuskeskus (GTK) Mintec’s pilot plant, and the old mining museum provided valuable insights into advanced mineral processing technologies and the historical evolution of the industry. 🤝 Networking with fellow young researchers was a highlight, sparking fresh ideas and new perspectives.
