𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗬𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗞𝗔 𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦 (𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦) 𝘈𝘶𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵 30, 2024 Stephane Lavallee’s renowned incubator and accelerator, HAVENTURE, proudly announces the launch of KYNISKA ROBOTICS SAS, as a new pillar in the Surgical Robotics arena to address the many challenges of Sports Medicine. Stephane Lavallee, a serial entrepreneur and founder of over 20 companies, has achieved 7 successful exits. His successes include Orthotaxy (acquired by Jonhson&Johnson in 2018, and later becoming the VELYS Robotic System) but also growing companies like eCential Robotics. “Kyniska is our answer to the many challenges in Sports Medicine. This robotic and digital system will address the full range of pathologies, from ligaments injury to all stages of arthritis that plague athletes and aging adults. It will highlight the best innovations of our brilliant ecosystem here in Grenoble, France” said Lavallée. Kyniska is formed through the merger of three previously existing companies: KAT Robotics SAS, LINKX Robotics SAS, and OSTESYS SAS. These companies have been seed-funded by robotics incubator and accelerator Haventure SAS, private holding Surosh SAS, family office FULLSTIM, and investments from private holdings that include 24 surgeons from Europe and North America. Addie Harris partners with Stephane Lavallee on this newly formed venture. She also has a deep history of entrepreneurship in MedTech, Medical Device and Robotics. She was founder and CEO of Cardan Robotics (acquired by Stryker in 2019) and has held roles at well-known robotics endeavors at Johnson and Johnson. “Initially developed for athletes with famous institutions, Kyniska technologies will then be deployed to address unmet needs for all patients in Sports Medicine. In particular, it will be the perfect solution for Ambulatory Surgery Centers” said Harris. Kyniska will be led operationally by Marie-Anne Chanrion, PhD who is based in Grenoble France. Marie-Anne has a passion for bringing solutions to athletes due to her own personal story of ACL repairs. Marie Anne is joined by Vincent Dannen and Manon Linder in technical leadership of the company. Kyniska will introduce several game-changing technologies aimed at minimizing the impact of surgery and enhancing overall outcomes for patients of all ages. This innovative initiative features a disruptive miniature tracking system and a novel robotic arm, specifically designed for orthopedic and sports medicine indications.
