MBDA signs a Memorandum of Understanding #MoU with Tawazun Council Quality and Conformity to enhance #cooperation in testing and qualification. This agreement reflects Tawazun’s commitment to strengthen collaboration with leading international partners, to develop testing and qualification infrastructure, and our objective of ensuring the battle-readiness of defence systems, according to international challenges. The MoU focuses on enhancing international cooperation, exchanging technical expertise and using advanced testing facilities, in order to showcase both MBDA and Tawazun's excellence.

🚀 Major Milestone for MBDA and the #AKERON LP missile development! We are proud to announce the first successful firing of the long-range #AKERONLP missile, within the framework of OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) #MASTF programme. The test took place on February 6th 2025 at the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement Missile Testing Centre in France. This essential trial validated the missile's global behaviour, including its aerodynamics, guidance, and separation safety, and confirmed the effectiveness of its propulsion systems to achieve an 8 km range. This success reflects the dedication and collaboration of all stakeholders, including MBDA, its subcontractors, DGA, and OCCAR marking a significant step forward in the development of this innovative battlefield system. #OpenInnovation allows us to push the boundaries of our production efficiency. MBDA is working hand in hand with OPT’ALM, a company specialised in #AdditiveManufacturing, also known as metallic #3DPrinting using DEB-LB/P technology, which masters specific techniques and processes allowing missile system production to be time and cost efficient. OPT’ALM master’s the DED-LB/P process (Directed Energy Deposition – Laser Beam/Powder) exploiting Maraging, a specific alloy necessary in missile production.
