An architectural jewel of the Belle Époque built in 1909, the Palais de l'Europe in the town of Menton on the French Riviera regularly hosts exhibitions, highlighting works by local, national and international artists. Working in such an historic and ornate building places additional demands on sound system designers in their quest to achieve to clear, intelligible #sound with consistent coverage across the audience, with additional consideration required for both visual aesthetics and point loads for mounting. So, when the theatre approached Monaco-based events and installation AV technology specialists SES to propose a new #soundsystem, Project Manager Didier Maddalon and #AV Technician Ronan Salieri configured a design drawing on compact, high-performance #speakers from French manufacturer NEXO’s ID, P+ and ePS Series ranges, led by two pairs of the ground-breaking ID84 #columnspeakers mounted to the left and right of the stage. As part of its renovation, new owners of the Neptune Beach Bar and Restaurant in Burgas (Bulgaria), approached production and #AVtechnology specialists Pro Audio Sound and Communications to design a new sound system. “With top class musicians performing at the venue and an audience that expects high quality sound, it was clear that we should use #speakers from a leading professional brand” reports Pro Audio Managing Director Stanislav Petrov. NEXO’s Celso Papadopulos supported Petrov and his team with a design using speakers from NEXO’s P+ Series, the latest edit of the French manufacturer’s industry-standard point source range. Three compact clusters of P15s mounted below L18 subs provide a FOH system for the stage, which is offset in the space, with a pair of P10s used for delays to ensure consistent, time-aligned coverage of the room. “The system sounds very nice, and everybody is very happy with it” comments Stanislav in conclusion. “NEXO is a top brand that everybody knows and respects. Nobody ever questions the #soundsystem when they see it is NEXO.”

In the French town of Oyonnax, the Aragon Cultural Center is a much-loved hub for the creative arts, used extensively by local residents and visitors alike. A 600-seat #theatre stages a wide variety of #productions ranging from dance and drama to music concerts and opera. A versatile, high-performance #sound system is essential to the success of a theatre offering such a varied program of shows, so the team at Aragon Cultural Center has upgraded to a compact #NEXO #linearray system, designed and installed by AVRIL Audiovisuel located in the nearby town of Bourg-en-Bresse. Right and left clusters of 5 x NEXO GEO M12 with 3 x MSUB18 deliver consistent coverage to the back of the bleacher-style audience seating. Two ultra-compact NEXO ID24s sit at the front of the stage as #frontfills and a pair of NEXO P8 in fill #speakers are similarly unobtrusive, completing a system with plenty of power and headroom on tap when required, despite its relatively small size.

Encompassing a trio of uniformly voiced, single 6, 10 and 12-inch line array systems with 12, 15 and 18-inch partner subs, NEXO’s compact and cost-effective #GEOM Series delivers unrivalled flexibility to hard working #rental companies required to cover a large range of events with little downtime between them. One such company is Oxfordshire-based Event Production Services which has seen a busy summer deploying its GEO M inventory on a variety of jobs all over its home UK county and beyond. Four stages at the 25th anniversary Truck Festival at Hill Farm in Steventon were rigged this year by EPS, with GEO M12 and #NEXO MSUB18s in service on stages 4 and 5, hosting everything from comedy to rock bands and each covering an audience of approximately 2000 people. “We got lots of compliments at Truck #Festival from artists and audience alike, including people saying that these were the best-sounding stages on the site” reports EPS Managing Director Robert Nisbet. The French city of Montpellier vibrated to the rhythms of Arab cultures for 12 days, with the 19th edition of the Arabesques #Festival which has attracted 35,000 visitors. With its striking pink façade typical of the Art Deco style of the 1930s, the Palais des Congrès d'Issy operated by Viparis is a vibrant conference and entertainment hub in the dynamic city of Issy les Moulineaux in the southwestern suburbs of Paris. This beautiful historic building features a magnificent 1000-seat #Amphitheatre, staging a variety of productions ranging from intimate concerts to grand opera #productions. Initially delayed by Covid lockdowns, a planned upgrade to the sound system has now taken place, with services partner SAV sub-contracting Chalezeule-based event and theatre sound specialists Espace Concept selected to install left and right hangs of 6 x #NEXO GEO M12 compact #linearrays and 2 x MSUB 18s, with NEXO’s ID24s deployed as #frontfills and delay lines. Discreet, low-profile onstage monitoring is provided by P8 and P12 #speakers from NEXO’s industry-leading P+ point source range, with Dante-networked amplification and processing for the entire system from NEXO NXAMPMk2 Powered TD Controllers.

🇲🇽 🎤 Guadalajara-based production house STAR Producciones has deployed its #NEXO STM modular line array system at a major #corporateevent at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico. Multinational nutritional and cosmetic products company Omnilife took over the large arena in Mexico City on September 7th for its annual leadership meeting which is held in a different country each year. Under the guidance of local Production Manager Juan Pablo Dominguez, the Star team rigged a total of 180 boxes from the #STM system which comprises of four, proportionately sized elements: a 4 x 6.5” main box, 1 x 12” bass extension, 1 x 18” sub and a 2 x 8” down fill, enabling rental companies to configure systems of any size and scale from a single set of inventory. The system at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico comprised main left and right hangs of 18 x STM M46/B112 with 3 x M28 down fills, and out fill hangs of 12 x STM M46/B112 with 3 x M28s.
