  • OCCAR Delivers First TIGER HAD MKII Configuration for France   Marignane/France – 25 October, 2024.  The ceremony for the of the delivery of the 1st #Tiger #HAD-F #MKII #combat #helicopter for #France took place at the Airbus Helicopters facilities. The successful delivery to France was completed within the framework of a retrofit programme managed by the OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) Tiger Programme Division. The HAD-F upgrade to MKII brings significant operational improvement to the Tiger HAD, enabling it to retain its full relevance in the field. In particular, it incorporates the new laser-guided rocket, a new jamming-resistant GPS system and an IFF mode 5 for interoperability. This version also enables the Tiger to integrate the French Army Aviation digitisation bubble and operate in a network with the surrounding helicopters. This first acceptance marks the start of the modernisation of the French Army's fleet of 67 combat helicopters, which will continue with the Mid-Life Upgrade Programme to #MkIII for #France and #Spain”. OCCAR-EA Head of Programmes, Darren Ash during his address to the assembled DGA - Direction générale de l'armement and Airbus Helicopters representatives and a large number of Airbus Helicopter assembly line workers highlighted to them how very proud they can be of their achievements of building this state-of the-art aircraft. • OCCAR HYDEF Programme EM KO and PRM 2 Milestones Achieved Tres Cantos/Spain, 29-30 October 2024 –The OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) #HYDEF Programme has met the third technical milestone (EM KO) and the third management milestone (PRM2). These achievements were made during meetings held over two days at the Sener facilities. The aim of the Early Maturation Kick-Off Meeting (EM KO) was to validate planned activities, aligning them with the initial proposal, while incorporating critical technologies identified in the pre-feasibility phase. The meeting comprised of all the Participating States (PSs), involved assessing the current Technological Readiness Level (TRL) of these technologies and identifying the resources required to advance their TRLs. The EM KO marks the start of the activities of technology maturation. The activities to be performed in Early Design and Technology Maturation, based on the critical technologies identified in the pre-feasibility phase, were demonstrated to be ready to start. The expected challenges in their developments were laid out, as identified in the Technology Plan. The feasibility phase is then in progress and technical maturation activities have started right after the Early Maturation Kick-off meeting. Following this meeting, the Programme will mainly consist of the definition of the concept for the system, leading to the Concept Selection Milestone (CSM) in August 2025, and the performance of maturation activities, reaching the Early Maturation Mid-Term Review Milestone (EM MTR) in October 2025. The Progress Review Meeting 2 (PRM 2) was held between the Project Coordinator (SMS), the Project Manager of each beneficiary and the OCCAR HYDEF Programme Division. The HYDEF Consortium presented to the OCCAR HYDEF Programme Division the general status of the Programme covering progress, KPIs, schedule review, risk assessment and mitigation, financial, quality control, ethics and other aspects. Both milestones were successfully met on schedule. “Co-funded by the European Union.
